Some excellent documentaries
Some excellent documentaries, very entertaining and interesting.
Mike's Loades' recent two shows about dogs in history were great.
Definitely needs more of those!
I love History Hits
I love History Hits!
My favorites are British history,American history, and European history.
An excellent selection of podcasts
An excellent selection of podcasts. Always fascinating and led by an expert in the field. The documentary selection is also massive.
Price and Technical Issues
Subscrption from South Africa with the current exchange rate makes it far too expensive for the average family. During the trial period, I had almost daily technical issues with the selected documentary crashing, and if you pause to make a cup of tea or make supper and want to carry on later, the documentary either doesn't start again or goes back to the beginning. Not good streaming quality with there usually being a sound sync problem.
Not happy…
Although it was supposed to be a free trial, money was taken from my account instantly. I have tried to cancel my subscription to no avail.

This is a generally good blog with very good writing. Engaging and works well with just sound and might work better just with sound as the production qualities and presentation of images is it's let down.Repeated film clips from Second World War scenes lets it down now and again.Perhaps they should think of a graphic way to replace grey repeated footage. Looks like they are saving money here and there. Perhaps we are spoilt with high production values of TV history programmes where this cannot compete.Generally good.

An excellent range of historical interests to choose from. The podcasts are very good and diverse.
Absolutely brilliant content!
Absolutely brilliant content! All of the presenters are knowledgeable, articulate and engaging. The podcasts are among my go-to listens when commuting and the videos often keep me company in the kitchen.
Highly recommend these to anyone looking for an accessible and entertaining windows on the past!
Material great Tech not so much
I love the material HH presents, covering a huge range of historical subjects and periods. My one beef if the app, it’s not very intuitive and I can’t figure out how to get it up in my tv at all.
First class history channel …
This is a fantastic channel for anyone who loves history and the amazing stories it holds. I started subscribing because I wanted to watch Prof. Susannah Lipscombe's series 'A World Torn Apart' which I'd seen advertised. I'm so glad I did as the programmes were excellent and I then discovered Dan Snow's and then Mike Loades' series - all excellent, enthusiastially presented and obviously based on thorough background research. Recently, I've particularly enjoyed 'A voice for Richard'(the third), which revealed groundbreaking discoveries about this enigmatic king. Keep up the good work, History Hit!
Great platform
History Hit is fantastic and has a wide range of content that we can’t get anywhere else and we thoroughly enjoy!
I really like this podcast
I really like this podcast. Unlike some other History podcast Dan doesnt 'banter' with his co-hosts/guests. Wish there would be more on the history of the Middle East and Far East and Japan.
The stories and references.
British historians
I think , it was 15 year ago when I saw the documentaries of sir Kenneth Clark, and I like them.In the same period of time I saw Bettany Hughes ‘s documentaries( she was slim then🙂.It is not a problem for me that she gain weight.I am happy that she didn’t change the beautiful way in which she tells stories)and I like them as well .I liked the way that they told the stories and since then I was focused to the Brit historians .So I was happy to find a British site with historical documentaries. The thing that makes different the British historians then others în my opinion, is: the enthusiasm. They not only love their job but are passionate about their job. This makes me pay attention to what they say.To me the site works well.I have watched some documentaries.I haven’t tried yet broadcasts.I have seen that they have interesting articles as well.So far I am content by this site and I keep using it.
Content is great
Content is great.
Many programs do not come with closed captioning, which makes them unavailable to me.
useless
content choice seemed to be ok, but I could never access any of it beyond the first video I watched. Even though I had a subscription, a trial subscription, I could never watch anything without receiving a message that I needed a subscription. I cancelled before the trial was over.
Love all programing available
Love all programing available! Tons of Tudor!!!
I enjoy the videos
I enjoy the videos, but you need more content. Get Lucy Worsley involved. Love her videos. Stop duplicating titles under different categories, it’s redundant.
I have been listening to free versions…
I have been listening to free versions of "The Ancients" and "Gone Medieval" for over a year and loved them.
For my Birthday I asked my wife to buy me a subscription to History Hit and its fantastics. Not only can I listen to all their podcasts ad-free, but I now have access to a lot of great programmes on my TV via their History Hot app.
Its a great gift for anybody who likes history
more world history, please
I have found a lot of interesting, well-done programs. I understand the company is based in Britain, and I do like British history, but being in the U.S., I would like to see more U.S. history and world history documentaries. I think History Hit could grow its audience doing that.
My one pet peeve is that closed captioning is not available on all the programs.
