Great to be able to find the kind of…
Great to be able to find the kind of content I like and, by subscribing, I've got them ad-free, a massive improvement on Spotify!!
Gone Medieval is my main choice, but plenty of other goodies as well.
History Hit? More like a wallet hit
1. Last year (2024) signed up for a free period,
2. I tried to cancel the subscription before the end of free period and after logging in, I was directed to 'manage my subscription', however then the system claimed i wasn't logged in. Sent me to 'log in' and the whole situation was repeated.
3. I sent an email to support to cancel free period - never got a reply
4. I was charged an annual subscription fee. €29.99
5. I still can't log in or get any support
What is going on?
UNABLE TO USE SERVICE
I have had History hit for just over 1year without an issue. However, upon renewal for year 2, I was logged out of the service. I have tried to re-log in, but I get a message saying "due to multiple log-in's your account is locked"
Despite requesting information on the support email, all I get is "a password re-set has been emailed to you" But no such email has ever been recieved!!!!
Totally fed up and have cancelled next year's renewal. But still unable to use up what I have paid for.
Customer Service is non-existent and they clearly have no interest in keeping customers.
Well done documentaries
Overall I enjoy History Hit. Two requests:
stop interrupting women guest historians and listen more as you do with male guest historians; level the audio - I couldn't watch the Lucy Worsley episode on Jane Austen since the volume to hear Ms. Worsley caused Dan Snow to wake the neighbors.

Ive paid for 2 month's because I tried to fix the problem first time and tried a second time, and money has been taken out of my account and yet the payment is still saying it’s pending on the orders and I STILL CANNOT WATCH anything. THESE PEOPLE DO NOT ANSWER YOUR EMAILS OR RESPOND to nothing
Not an interactive web site
I would have loved to see the possibility to add comments per documentary or to ask for specific questions to the authors since we pay to get the material. I was so disappointed with the Knights Templar documentary, that i almost asked for a refund, but it would have been unfair to the other authors. Good library, but full of old subjects :D
I'm so happy that I found this site
There's so much to choose from that I'm watching parts of each because I can't wait to see them. My only critique is that some of them don't have the choice to have the words displayed & it's difficult to understand what they're saying.
Fascinating
I am absolutely in love with History Hit. I get regular updates on my favorite podcasts, which are (in no particular order) The Ancients, Gone Medieval, Not Just the Tudors, and Betwixt the Sheets. I also love the documentaries on the Channel where I can see video of the interesting sites.
I am a professional in the Medical Field and I started by getting into true crime. I have become a big fan of the 1400's through the 1600's, and hearing about the mundane lives of normal people is my jam. These shows absolutely are a part of my nerdy self care routine.
Not what I expected it a bunch…
Not what I expected it’s just a bunch of documentaries with very few pictures or video clips. I was expecting it to be a documentary where the person was at that site not sitting in an office telling me a story so that was disappointing.
Love this channel
Love this channel. The documentaries are fantastic. Educational and entertaining, you can’t beat that!
I love Hit History
I love Hit History, however there is a problem with shutting down a site after starting to watch, only to find that I’ve forgotten what I was watching and it just doesn’t just appear when I connect again, with a resume button. I would like you to have a “resume watching” page on opening, as other sites do. 😔
Love this channel
Love this channel, this arrangement off historical information and I do not have enough hours in a day to watch and listen to everything I would like to. These are my kind off people, can talk about all facets off history all day. :)
Something for everybody
Something for everybody. So many podcasts. So many episodes in each podcast! Whatever subject or time period interests you, you'll find something to listen to many times per week. And each one is excellent in its own way!
Way to expensive for what you offer...
Love it
Love it. So much better and with respected historians. And accuracy.
I look for new content most days.
Keep up the good work
Our whole family love this channel
I purchased a whole year because it was a good price option. My family love watching historical documentaries so it was a no-brainer. My husband wasn’t convinced but he now watches it more than anyone else in the family, especially the war docos. The variety of shows on there is fantastic and they continually add each week so always something new to watch. I love that some are short (30mins or so) and others are full length (1.5hrs) because as a busy mum sometimes I only get a small window of ‘me time’ and a short documentary is my favourite way to chill & unwind.
Really great variety of periods
I’m really enjoying both the documentaries & the podcasts. Very well done.
