BLOW UP

Purchased a ACR Balanced Flu Gas Stove. We couldn't get it starrted so the person from the shop came to show us how. He couldn't start it then it exploded smashing the inner glass on both sides. He said he would get the engineer to visit in the new year and that it was most likely dusty.
The stove is brand new and cost an additional £700 to be fitted.

Given it 4 years

I felt it was time after 4 years of having this ACR Woodpecker 5 stove to write a review as then I couldn't be accused of being a novice.
We had a Charnwood for 15 yrs in the last house and never had a problem with lighting, burning control and rarely had to replace parts
This one is far more difficult to light, control and uses more logs despite using a meter to keep within the best burning temp.
I have had to replace the ash can on 5 occasions as it warps and the space is so tight it becomes unusable.
I will replace the stove as soon as I can. I've had enough.

ACR Stoves Neo - Eco Range

Wish I had of read reviews before I bought a stove from this company. Useless customer service & just like someone else stated, they try to blame you on all the faults that appeared. I will never recommend this company or buy one of their products!

Beautiful to look at but a hopeless heater

We recently bought an ACR Neo 3CE (electric). Aesthetically, this is a beautiful, well made, authentic looking stove. However, functionally it is not great. We removed our old electric fire to fit this, only to find heat output is absolutely rubbish compared to the old fire. So much so we have ended up with a small black blow heater in the bottom of it rather than decorative logs just to keep our lounge warm. If it didn't look so good we would have returned this fire.

STAY AWAY FROM ACR STOVES !

ACR Oakdale Stove bought and fitted 2yrs from Tall Trees, Tenbury Wells, on their recommendation. Stove was nothing but trouble from day one. Totally useless. I could not keep it alight. I complained to Tall Trees and ACR and was given every excuse imaginable. They blamed, the trees, (too close), The weather, the hill, the wind direction, the fuel, my lack of experience? I’ve used wood burners for years. I even got the HETAS Representative out thinking it might be poor installation. If by luck I might finally get it to light at say 4pm it would take 3-4 hours to warm the room? Useless
This Summer 2024, I got the flue swept and the Chimney Sweep asked if I had been having any problems with the stove as he had lots of complaints about them. Wow! He then showed me the design fault that was the cause of the problems. I scrapped the ACR Oakdale Stove, lost all that money!
I replaced it with a stove that the chimney sweep recommended. Joy! Now I have a proper working Stove that does what it should!

Very poor product quality and aftercare

Not great, wish I’d gone for a Scandinavian stove, faith in UK product misguided and expensive mistake. After ACR delivered my inspection identified manufacturing defects but ACR and the retailer Direct Stoves refused to replace the stove. After installation it was clear there was something seriously wrong and the fire was uncontrollable ultimately overheating the stove and leaking harmful gases into our home. Only after 20 or more emails complaining to ACR and Direct Stoves after nine months did they take some action and replaced the stove but it was all very inconvenient. Unfortunately the AcR engineer damaged the £5000 flue system and rainwater now leaks into the house. We have also lost £500+ in wasted logs because of the overheating. I would never choose an ACR stove or go though Stovesdirect in future, they just don’t care at all about the customer.

Had ACR Ashdale stove installed earlier…

Had ACR Ashdale stove installed earlier this year. We have been using this for several weeks and find it to be excellent. Though controls need some getting used to. Saves on logs due to its efficiency. Great view of the flames...
We did have some issues with the original stove, this was efficiently dealt with by Daryl much to our satisfaction. Thank you. Definitely recommend this company and their customer services...
