Alan is a great coach and a great bloke! Alan genuinely cares about his clients and treats each client individually, depending on their needs and challenges. He is fantastic at identifying small changes that make a big difference and gives his clients the confidence to make positive changes. Alan is also curious and takes every opportunity to learn and develop himself and share his knowledge with others. Thanks Alan for all you do and for being such fun to work with.

I've been working with Alan for just over a year and he has been instrumental in me shifting my mindset from 'working IN the business' to 'working ON the business'. The result of this has allowed me to build my company as well as dedicating more time with my family, doing things that are important to me outside my business. Top name, top bloke, top coach. I've been with Alan for a year now (yikes where does the time go). Greatest decision I've made in business... (I'd say life, but my wife might be watching). One of my flaws is to never ask for help... from my school days, teaching myself guitar, any kind of problem, I'd just get my head down and work it through. Similarly, as a solo business owner, I never sought help, I just worked things out. Did my accounts myself, worked out problems on my own, and plodded along, without goals, without systems. Alan has been a game-changer... I now have goals, systems and an accountant! I'm more organised, feel more positive and confident about everything. The coaching sessions are great - and as a solopreneur it's good to be able to just chat something through - Alan has a wealth of knowledge to tap into. He's a great guy to have in your corner... from cheering you on, giving you a moral boost when you're about to throw in the towel... or giving you a virtual slap when you need one (in a friendly way)... or administering the smelling salts when you're on the deck (okay, I'm not quite that bad). Very happy to have joined the ActionCOACH programme in 2021, the professional guidance given has seen a improvement of processes across the organisation, a clear sales boost and a positive outlook based upon real data.

When I started working with Tim I was in a bit of a slump as our online sales were not great even with a lovely new website. I felt that I needed someone to help me identify where the problems lay and give me some ideas and challenges to increase our e-commerce sales. Tim has been so supportive, given me some great ideas, and has transformed how I approach our marketing. Our online sales have been steadily improving and now I feel confident enough to move onto working with Tim on another area of the business. Coaching like this is money well spent on your business as it gives you the opportunity to take a step back and see it through someone else’s eyes and from someone who can help you improve and reach some achievable goals.

The work we have done with ActionCoach has been integral in developing our business. We have created solid foundations to grow and all of these elements are going to be key when we exit the business. We've been with ActionCoach Manchester for 10 months and we've learnt more this year, than in all our 15 years of business combined. I honestly don't think we'd still be trading if James Burke hadn't helped us through some extremely difficult months.

We experienced the perfect storm of higher costs, inflation, interest rate increases, staffing issues, shipping delays, supplier troubles and unprecedented low sales - we couldn't see a way out, but week by week we clawed our way back to profitability, negotiated with suppliers and increased sales. We're now looking to sell more in Q4 alone than in the whole of 2021, in the middle of a recession!
