Terrible experience with CarJet and…

Terrible experience with CarJet and AddCar – they stole my money!

I strongly advise against using CarJet and their partner AddCar. My rental contract
CJT-136296062 (24-SOF-397) This was the worst car rental experience I've ever had! They literally stole 900 euros from me by not returning my deposit.

From the very beginning, I had my doubts when AddCar staff tried to push additional services and insurance on me. When I refused, their attitude completely changed. They did everything possible to avoid returning my deposit, fabricating false claims of damages and other minor issues.

The car was returned in perfect condition, exactly as we received it. However, after returning the vehicle, I was told that the deposit refund would take a few days. It’s been weeks now, and I still haven’t seen a cent. CarJet’s customer support is absolutely useless – they either don’t respond to my inquiries or keep making empty promises.

These companies are dishonest and essentially engage in theft. I strongly advise against dealing with CarJet and AddCar if you don’t want to lose your money. This is pure fraud!

Bad experience with Addcar in Preveza, Greece

I picked up a rented VW Golf from AddCar at Preveza airport in Greece. First, the Addcar office isn't in the terminal as described but is across a road and a walk away. Second, the car exterior was scruffy but more importantly the air conditioning didn't work, which is important in Greece and 33C heat. Generally the cars do not seem to be in best condition. Third, on the second day of rental, the car key broke when withdrawing it from the ignition. No undue force or movement was used, the metal part just separated from the key handle. Obviously the key was already faulty or weakened in some way. Addcar provided a replacement car which I had to pick up from another town and this took about half a day of my holiday. However, on returning the car Addcar insisted this was my fault and charged Euro260 for a replacement key. I won't be using them again.

No Brakes-Worn Out Car-Cleaning Fee

If you want a car with no brakes, one that has a broken seatbelt connection that sets off a loud alarm constantly and one totally worn out and then fraudulently wants you to pay a cleaning fee then this is your company! I would avoid them like the plague! I was not able to give it 0 Stars.

You book a decent car and maybe get a junker

We got a Peugeot 301 that AddCar Prevesa must have flagged down on its way to be scrapped; thinking "that will make a valuable addition to our fleet". In the light when we picked it up could see rust around the rear window and numerous dings and dents. As it got dark on hairpin roads we discovered the driver's headlight was out and the nearside was misaligned, a near death experience I hope not to repeat. On the way we had to repair the pre-broken gear stick trim with chewing gum, on the move. In the light the next day, we could see the back of the driver's seat was ripped right open. Yes, we do have the pictures. Given the age and condition the quite unbelievable 39K km on the clock (from memory, that they didn't even bother recording on the rental form) could only have been the second go around that clock. It was telling that, on pick up, they told us only to worry if we wrote it off or got it stolen. Frankly, we could have purchased a better car for the rental fee and done the world a favour by driving it into the sea after use. We wasted a day of our holiday and two goes at returning this junker to the airport (which made it 3 or 4 times as expensive as the rental, really, in lost holiday time), and could only get a wholly unsuitable (for Lefkada) 7 seater replacement; take it or leave it, matey, it's all we have got and there was no chance of a cross hire from any other supplier from the many at the airport. All in all an unedifying learning experience.

I feel compelled to share an unfortunate and deeply frustrating experience that my friend endured when renting a car through Car Jet, under booking reference CJT-136296062 (24-SOF-397), from July 16th to July 28th, 2024. What was supposed to be a straightforward car rental turned into a distressing ordeal that I wouldn’t wish on anyone.

The booking process began on July 9th, 2024, when my friend paid 515 euros online, which was supposed to cover both the vehicle rental and insurance. Everything seemed fine until he arrived at the rental location, where things took a drastic turn. He was blindsided by a demand for a 2400 euro deposit—an enormous amount that was never mentioned during the booking process. After hours of tense and stressful negotiations, they finally agreed to reduce the deposit to 1534 euros, split into two payments of 622 euros and 912 euros. However, the stress didn’t end there. He was also slapped with an unexpected 120 euro fee for crossing the border—a charge that was never communicated to him beforehand.

But the real heartbreak began after he returned the car. Despite being promised that his deposit would be promptly refunded, my friend is still waiting to see 912 euros returned to his account. The delay has been excruciating, filled with countless attempts to get in touch with both Car Jet and AddCar Rentals. His trust in these companies has been completely shattered, and his faith in what should have been a simple, honest transaction has been eroded.

What’s most troubling is that while AddCar Rentals may bear the immediate responsibility, Car Jet cannot escape accountability. They chose to partner with this company, and by doing so, they are vouching for their reliability. Yet, when things went wrong, Car Jet was nowhere to be found—no support, no communication, just silence. My friend was left feeling abandoned, with no recourse and no idea if or when he might see his hard-earned money again.

Car Jet urgently needs to reassess the companies they partner with. Trust is the cornerstone of any service, especially one as essential as car rentals. If their partners are engaging in shady practices or failing to provide the service customers deserve, Car Jet should be stepping in to rectify the situation, not washing their hands of it.

This experience has not only been financially draining but emotionally exhausting as well. It’s been weeks of anxiety and frustration, with no resolution in sight. My friend and I wouldn’t want anyone else to go through the same nightmare.

I strongly urge anyone considering renting through Car Jet to think twice. Their failure to manage their partnerships effectively and to stand by their customers in times of need is deeply concerning. Please, save yourself the stress and choose a rental company that is reliable, transparent, and truly cares about their customers.

If you’re reading this, I hope it helps you avoid the same fate. Please share this story with others, so that more people are aware of the risks involved. Car Jet and their partners should be held accountable, and future customers deserve to know the truth.

Do not book with ADDCAR in BELGRADE.
I rented a car for two weeks, it was returned with 14 days of use and they charged me 40 euros because they said the car was dirty.
I repeat, the car was clean, it was only in the state of 14 days of use.
On top of that, I reviewed the contract and the cleaning fee I had accepted was only 35 euros.

Avoid companies like Car Jet and their partners (Add Car) and others!!!!!
My husband and I booked and paid (Booking reference CJT-136296062 (24-SOF-397),for a car rental and full insurance with Car Jet, when we picked up the car on 16.07.24, they tried to take a deposit of 2400 euros from us, although the websites of both companies indicate completely different information! After much debate, we agreed on a deposit of €1,500, which we left and left with peace of mind, but the horror began after we returned the car (in the same condition as when we took it) and we were assured that the deposit would be returned in the coming days, which unfortunately did not happen (((( after long conversations and correspondence, part of the deposit was returned (€600), the second part (€900) was assured that we had to wait 30 working days, but this did not happen and after 30 days ((((( after 30 days add car we were told that €900 was payment for insurance, to all our arguments that this could not be insurance, since we paid for car jet insurance, they did not react in any way and nothing was said about it, but the deposit was clearly indicated! To my great disappointment, Car jet does not help or protect its clients in any way, but on the contrary, I got the impression that it is involved in these schemes! My friends, what can I tell you? Add Car and Car Jet literally stole our money! Be careful and avoid these companies if possible!!

Addcar Fails Miserably – Unwarranted Funds Hold and Laughable Excuse

I am thoroughly disappointed with Addcars. After returning the rental car without any issues, I was flabbergasted to find that they’ve held onto my funds for a whole month. The lack of justification for this prolonged hold is infuriating.
Adding insult to injury, their customer service fed me an utterly absurd excuse. They claimed they “manually tried to cancel the reservation but couldn’t get a connection.” Is this some sort of joke? It’s hard to believe a company of this scale would use such a flimsy excuse to cover up their apparent inefficiency.
This kind of incompetence and poor customer service is unacceptable. I would strongly recommend avoiding Addcar to avoid similar frustrations. Their handling of my funds and their pathetic excuse for the delay have made it clear they are not a company worth dealing with.

Beware of fraudulent activities of Car Jet and their partner Add Car!** I want to warn everyone about the fraudulent activities of Car Jet and their partner Add Car. My rental agreement CJT-136296062 (24-SOF-397) turned into a real nightmare.

The company debited my card 900 € under the pretext of a deposit. After successfully returning the car, I was told that the deposit would be returned within seven days. However, after seven days the deposit was not returned and they said it could take up to 30 business days. Now that more than 30 business days have passed, they claim that the amount was debited for insurance that I already paid when booking the car on the car jet website. (as evidenced by the corresponding voucher) all receipts and receipts are available!

Car Jet and Add Car are engaged in dishonest practices, deceiving customers and essentially stealing their money. Don’t deal with them unless you want to fall into the same trap.

Staff at Kefalonia Airport are excellent 👍 and incredibly helpful. Makis the manager the most personable hire company manager I’ve had the pleasure to meet.
Car was very clean and no problems with it.
Office is less than one minute up the hill from the airport.

If possible I would give ZERO '0' for the review.

They are the most disreputable car hire company we have ever had experience with.

We were told on collecting the car that we had an outstanding amount to pay. We explained that the complete payment had been made to the agency we arranged the car hire through and we had the voucher to prove it. They made up a story that this was the additional commision that the Addcar company needed to add.

We were in a hurry and of course they are happy to play the bluff game we needed a car they wouldn't release until the additional payment was made. So we paid it.
They told us if we have a dispute we must do it through the agency. So we took the car and paperwork..

Later on reading through the invoice we found that the charge was for an extra day. At 'no point' did they say this was what we were paying for.
The company CONNED us.

We have tried to claim the money back through the agency and even with all the evidence to prove we did not have the car for an extra day they will not refund us. So the company can lie and they win!!!!!!

We then asked our credit card company who also have said because we signed an invoice they will not refund.

LESSON LEARNED - if asked to pay more money when collecting car ask to see the evidence on the invoice. DO NOT PAY or SIGN ANY PAPERWORK.

AVOID ADDCAR CAR HIRE. THEY WILL CON YOU OUT OF MORE MONEY.

Shame on you. Avoid this "car rental" mafia

If I could I would give 0 stars.
When we were at the counter the guy was very polite, chatting with us. We wanted to pay the toll fee for the highway but It says to not worry because we booked for and all inclusive package so It was included already. We did two transaction, one for the payment of the car and the second for the deposit. When we returned the car, immaculate, the guy said we should've the deposit back in 10 days. After 15days I spoke with my bank Who said that there are three transactions from them, they charged me for the car, they pre authorised the deposit plus they charged 400€ for an additional local insurance but I never heard of It neither agreed to It. I Lost 400€ for a car rented for 8days. I booked through VipCars and they completaly dont care about this real scam as its my only problem. I Wish I had read all the reviews before making a booking. I'm really sad about this horrible experience because I really loved Bulgaria and they Just contribuite to ruin their reputation. Shame on you.

Their employees are rude, and lying to your face. They refused my credit card (which I used next day to rent another car). We could only take the car by purchasing a very expensive insurance (3 times the rental cost!) although we already paid for a full insurance (zero risk) when reserving the car.
Be alert to the dangers of these scammers!

addCar - Aktion/Preveza airport Greece.
Rented a car from 29th June until 14th July.
Very good experience, at pick up and drop off. No issues, very good car (Skoda RAPID), didn't experience any underhand selling of extra insurance, or scams on return as reported by other reviewers.
Our last rental experience with another provider at Aktion was really bad, so we had some concerns, however there was no need to worry. Very good car rental experience. Thank you.

If you need your deposit back do not rent your car with this company. But first things first, when you return your car they will check car with a microscope and they will charge whatever they can . It’s been 4 months I rented the car with them and I have still not received security deposit . They will send you from one person to another.

My experience was extremely disappointing. I booked a Kia Stonic, a compact SUV, in advance, as I specifically needed a vehicle of that type for its size and features. However, when I arrived at the airport, I was handed the keys to a Dacia Logan, an economy car that was completely different from what I had booked and expected.

The process of addressing this issue was frustrating. The customer service representatives showed little empathy or willingness to resolve the problem. They offered no apologies and did not attempt to understand the inconvenience caused by the vehicle swap.

I recently rented a car from addCar and had a terrible experience. After being shuttled to their offsite location, they started imposing numerous unexpected demands: showing insurance declarations, having specific coverage limits, using only certain insurance companies, and maintaining a deductible below $500. Each time I met one requirement, they added another.

When I couldn't meet one of their criteria, they tripled the rental price. This seems designed to exploit stressed travelers who are in a rush and unlikely to cancel and return to the airport. In all my years of travel, I've never faced such arbitrary and opportunistic demands. This feels like a scam.
