Absolutely rubbish system

Absolutely rubbish system. Completely not user friendly for hosts, multiple issues with guests booking in when they shouldn't be able to, unable to complete basic adjustments to my listing. Absolutely not worth the fuss, will be sticking to Air BnB to host.

The online system is complete crap

The online system is complete crap, full of bugs and lacking the most basic functionality, for example you cannot set a number of days for cleaning between bookings. Airbnb has a 'number of preparation days' you can set before and after each booking, so that number of days are automatically blocked.
WIth Booking you can't avoid checkout then checkin on the same day!
The website seems like an old Cobol banking system that has been added to endlessly so it got more and more complicated, and nobody is game to redesign it. I usually have to log on twice to get in; it insists on swimming pool info but won't Save it; just endless bugs, it's crap.

Unreliable Platform with Terrible Customer Service

Booking.com’s customer service is one of the worst I’ve ever experienced. While you might occasionally get a helpful representative, most interactions are frustrating and unproductive. Their website is riddled with bugs, and they continue to increase their commission rates.

Every call to customer support feels like a nightmare, with issues taking weeks—sometimes even months—to be resolved. The login process is unnecessarily complicated, requiring a 2FA code for every action, and you can’t even log in on the first attempt—it only works on the second try.

To make matters worse, their admin dashboard is outdated, clunky, and inefficient. Overall, using Booking.com as a platform is more of a struggle than it should be.

As a host

As a host, the platform has so many glitches to which customer service is accustomed to apologising for. There has been no improvement and the platform and system is only getting worse. Regarding uploading photos, I give up after 1 hr and 35 mins of trying to upload one 1280x900 image as required without success. Some guests were able to book a single night even when my app says min 3 nights, a glitch according to customer service. There is no recourse if the guests commit a crime such as stealing and trashing your place as Booking.com conceals all these information. You never know who you're going to get as guests.

Zero stars

Zero stars. As a host, Booking.com is absolute garbage. Horrendous customer service and no attempt to screen potential guests. Literally every scam we've ever experienced has been from a Booking.com "guest." Avoid at all costs.

BOOKING.Com IS GARBAGE CO

Being a host on Booking - your mind will suffer, you will be driven to insanity. WHAT A TRASHY CO, HORRIBLE NON EXISTENT CUSTOMER SERVICE. Out of 100 times I called to Reservations line discuss issue of them charging me commissions for bogus relocation cases - THEY HUNG UP ON ME. Not 1time I was able to stay till the end - they will always hang up. They often say they will call for verification - but they don’t even make that call. It takes 8 times to literally re-dial. When finally I get agent not hung up - he’s so incompetent and non productive, 2.5hrs on a phone - NOTHING WILL EVER GETS RESOLVED. As a host you’re on a wrong even if you’re right. To dispute invoice - they will deny with robotic message, not reading true facts - it’s a horrible nightmare process. Currently they charged me $7.5K worth of relocation cases because they calendar had a glitch and I couldn’t change the price, min amount of stay. So it let guest book 3 nights and I don’t take 3 nights. And double book on same dates. I immidiately within 5 sec notified the guest who sent reservation we don’t accept 3 nights or price for high demand events was too low and they could rebook another property but no, Booking decided to rob me, create relocation bogus cases and charged me for their relocations that I owe $7.5K in commissions. They could never provide me rules on relocations, never provided proof guest indeed paid higher elsewhere, never tried to understand it’s their system who wouldn’t allow to change min stay, nor the amount despite sending screenshots of error message that’s why it allowed guests to book, that I notified guests within 5 sec and for 5 seconds - bam - relocation to guest and charge me $750. STUPID RULES, INCOMPETENT AGENTS, NON SENSE GARBAGE CO RUNNING SCAM! Hosts, stay away and use Airbnb

If your a host and guests complain they…

If your a host and guests complain they will refund even if the guest is in the wrong but if a guest damages a property they won’t do anything about it. I put Airbnb in a much better category. I even put Airbnb pricing lower in the hopes the guest will find that price first

So many terrible reviews

Terrible customer service team. Outsourced to Philippines and clearly read from a script. No experience in the industry at all - very difficult to understand them and generally not able to help with anything. Incredibly long waits for someone to answer- more than 45 minutes isn’t unusual- and then can’t help much anyway. Rubbish review system biased to guests- the worst booking platform to use out there. If you can… stay clear and don’t use them.

Terrible as usual with booking.com

Terrible as usual with booking.com - I really dislike this platform as an owner as it is too difficult to work with. Firstly trying to find an actual phone number for host support is near impossible. All numbers listed on the net are incorrect or out of service - and forget trying to find a contact number once logged in. If you finally do happen to find the number, and call it, they then have to call you back to ensure you are genuine - more wasted time! Then when you finally get to speak to someone, I cannot understand them due to language and accents - it is so difficult and the call takes 3 times as long. Please booking.com - get your crap together and fix your support lines. Also your website for owners is far too complex and cluttered. It needs to streamlined, and can be. I would really like to use booking.com more but it is sooo difficult.

Terrible experience as a host

Terrible experience as a host. First, they don't have many options in terms of refund policy. It's either 1 day before reservation guests get a full refund or non-refundable. Guests reserved a stay. We were trying to contact them to confirm it's a legitimate booking - no response. No one replied, no one showed up, of course. Then booking sends us an invoice... They told we had to get the payment from the guests ourselves... and denied my request to dispute the invoice. Why should I pay to booking if they provided a fake reservation and didn't help me to get money from the guests? Is it some type of scam? Very frustrating experience. Airbnb and Vrbo is 1000 times better.

We have not been able to recWe have not been able to receive our reservation payments for months.eive our…

We have been working with booking.com for a long time and rent more than 30 of our properties. However, 3 months ago, they shared meaningless virtual cards starting with the number 2, instead of giving us a visa or mastercard according to our terms of agreement. Although this agreement was not in accordance with our rules, we could not receive payment from these credit cards.

We have reported this situation to customer representatives many times by email or phone, but each time they asked us to perform certain transactions and wait for days.

We have not been able to receive the payments we have earned for about 3 months, even though we have performed all the transactions they were told.

Customer representatives direct us to different issues and cause us to lose time. It may now be necessary to legally progress this situation.

Booking.com has to be the absolute…

Booking.com has to be the absolute worst site possible for hosts. I recently had a guest stay with us, who came and completely trashed my property and their customer service basically said “sucks to suck”. They limit the amount of damage deposit you can have so you barely get covered, plus they side with the guests with no proof or confirmation about what they are complaining about. Do not use this website.

Do yourself a favor and dont use Booking as a host.

extremly unfriendly for new users. pricing and cancelation policies are set up very confusing.
They charge a lot of money and dont provide any help in return.
I prefer to pay a couple of $ more to AirBnB, have their insurance if something happens and get decent support in case of issues!

Most inconvenient platform

The most inconvenient platform for hosts.
Need to login dozens of times during the day, even to enter certain menu areas.
Costumer service quite bad. Getting automated answers to questions never asked.
Then people from India responding, always someone different, but with the same wrong answer, not helpful at all.
The online platform and the app are quite chaotic and confusing.
Guests can review your accommodation, but if not leaving a comment, the host cannot comment.
Bad review system.
Last but not least, for all this rubbish you have to pay a high commission.
Shame on you!

Simply Awful

Simply Awful

As a host their platform is so bad. It's not set up to be user friendly for holiday let's rather it is created and worded for bigger hotel organizations.

Their customer service is infuriating. What other company puts the phone down and then calls you back as a security precaution. Because guess what, sometimes they don't bother calling you back.

The staff are professional and they do try to help but their not British and English isn't their first language so be prepared to have to repeat yourself in broken English to try and get them to sing from the same hymn sheet.

They have this stupid AI property description program that will write something completely inappropriate about your property and location. For example in our lovely little area of the UK the must see sights according to booking.com is the University Of Lincoln located 40 minutes away, because who wouldn't want to go to a university whilst on holiday and Butlins (yes Butlins, the private holiday group, located 50 minutes away)

Oh and be prepared to pay a lot in commission....A LOT!

Very bad customer service when there is damage in the property

Very bad customer service. My guest lost the keys, and I'm enrolled in their customer protection program, but they told me that I have no right to get any refund. They collect lot of money from us, the owners, but the service is awful, as they don't want to face the guests when there are problems. Very dissappointed!

HIGHLY RISK FOR HOST BY PUTTING THE PROPERTY ON BOOKING.COM

we had an extremely disappointing experience with Booking.com. The platform allows anyone, including scammers, drag dealer and dangerous individuals, to book accommodations without proper verification, putting hosts in potentially dangerous situations. There is no option for hosts to review these problematic guests, which means other hosts are unaware of the risks.

Booking.com permits these guests to leave reviews about our high-value properties, but does not allow hosts to share their experiences with these dangerous awful disgusting guests. who is getting into your property and putting you in dangerous risk, every single minutes they will give you a headache & panic and destroying your reputation. This lack of transparency and accountability is unacceptable and damaging to hosts' a lot.

The Property Host support team is equally disappointing, incompetence and can not resolve any problem at all. The call centre staff are located in some unknown country in the cave, they does not know nothing about resolve the problem. Despite numerous calls and requests to speak with a manager, I never received a call-back and they frequently disconnected my calls. And we asked them so many times regarding the contact details for higher authorities but they said that they don't know. what a pathetic incompetence service. Their commission and fees is too much and they suck your profit and business.

Overall, the service provided by Booking.com is inadequate and unprofessional. we are considering creating my own booking platform to avoid the risks and frustrations associated with using Booking.com.

Not even 1 star !!!

Not even 1 star !!!! One of the WORST platforms for hosts. I regret listing with them and even when I want to delist my property, they won’t even do it for you. The customer service is somewhere in Philippines (nothing against the beautiful country but they are clueless !). The system is shocking to say the least. Whoever developed and run Pulse app (extranet) should be fired, your can’t find any APP that useless and almost impossible to navigate and do anything on the app. Stay clear of this platform, landlords, you’ve been warned! Airbnb is god, I never appreciated Airbnb until I started to list with booking.com. It’s day and night! Frustration is an understatement. I don’t think they should be allowed to operate the way they’ve been operating. Not to mention excessive commission fee they charge for the service they barely provide.
