My experience with Booking.com customer…

My experience with Booking.com customer service is plain awful. You have to hold for 10-20 minutes per call. The online chat doesn't work, because no on gets back to you in 24 hours. Also, my reservation was cancelled by the host due to selling the property. I had to call Booking.com to follow up on an issue with the reservation and they told me 3 days after it was already cancelled. I will never book with them again. I had way better success on AirBnB.

Highly disappointed and shocked

Highly disappointed and shocked. I covered a one-way purchase with Booking.com from Tel Aviv to Venice. All inbound airlines canceled the flight; therefore, we had to cancel the outbound trip. I wrote a long and detailed explanation of the reasons for these unprecedented times with the conflicts in Israel. I honestly thought that XCOVER and Booking.com would honor the request and place the finds for future use at this minimum. The answer was no on both sides and honestly, I feel like they used the situation in Israel as a money grab. I booked most of my past lodging on Booking.com, and this was the first airline I booked and the last of anything Booking.com. I highly recommend never booking an airline through Booking.com, and as for the insurance with XCOVER, never! I will open a case with the Israel Tourism Department for further action. The money lost its now principle. I want to protect other people from this situation.

Avoid at all costs and book directly whenever possible!

Had a horrible experience with booking.com! Lost hundreds of dollars and 5 hours of time due to booking.com agents asking us to repeatedly contact the property.

We booked a trip, but required rescheduling due to a severe storm warning. This was a "partner booking" - with the partner listed as "HotelBeds". The description mentioned that we can contact the property directly for modifications/changes.

We spent several hours discussing this with Booking.com and also with the property directly. The property was cooperative and informed us that they are totally okay with modifying our reservation date, however they required confirmation from Booking.com about this change.

Booking.com agents kept telling us to contact the property stating that the property should be able to modify this for us. However, the property mentioned that they cannot modify reservation unless they receive an email confirmation. Booking.com kept telling us that they cannot email the property due to a "system limitation". They also could not contact the partner (HotelBeds) that they booked with or even provide us with a valid number to contact them. It seems Booking.com is unaware of who they are partnered with and they do not check the reputability of their partners. A google search for "HotelBeds" reveals horrendous reviews outlining hundreds of customers who have had terrible experiences. The company has a 1 star rating with many customers reporting losing hundreds of dollars. HotelBeds also provides no customer support or means to contact them. Booking.com representatives are also unable to contact HotelBeds (a company they have PARTNERED with), and moreover they cannot even provide customers with a contact number to contact them. On top of this, Booking.com is unable to escalate the request or provide any voucher/partial-refund/compensation for the loss of time and money. They informed us a manager will contact us within 30 minutes, however that did not happen either.

Booking.com

Booking.com - "Passing the Buck"
Recently, I travelled to Sydney - Purchased my Flights, Car Hire & Insurance through Booking.com.
My flight from Adelaide to Sydney was delayed, causing me to miss my car pick-up, from Budget Car Rental.
BAD LUCK - NO REFUND, NO REIMBURSEMENT (despite purchasing insurance).
Budget Car Rental told me to see my Booking Agent.
Booking.com called it a "Last minute Cancellation", therefore, not eligable for a refund.
Do you think that it is possible to speak with them, to resolve this? NO!! - Very disappointing....

AI response only it seems to any written customer service issues. Phone is not much better. On hold for a long time, no help, told to call property myself. Told they will call me back then never do. They used to have good customer service a few years ago, not sure what happened. I will not be back!

AI guy needs to fly...

They need to send the AI robot writing property descriptions on HOLIDAY. The software doesn't work so it makes up property features that are not true. Then it is fun and games with 'customer service' staff who clearly do not read the emails you send. They return to you with a myriad of cut/ paste responses which do nothing to move the issue along to resolution. It feels like magic roundabout and I refuse to put our properties up live with them until they can show me that they know what they are doing!

This is the most useless and complicated hosting site EVER!.
The site has endless flaws and gliches. They make everything super complicated eg just simply adjusting rates.
Their customer service and support is pathetic, that is if you even able to reach them! And lucky enough that they dont hang up on you.
Im listed for not even 3 weeks and I already had enough .

POOR,IRRESPONSIBLE AND UNRELIABLE SUPPORT FOR HOST

I have had a terrible experience with booking.com support for hosts. After setting up my hosting account and listing for just one month, all the reservations were marked as invalid due to credit card issues. Recently, a guest did not show up for their reservation, despite my strict policy. When I contacted the guest through booking.com, they informed me that they had not made any reservation. I reached out to customer support, and the first representative promised to handle the payment and accused the guest of lying. However, I received no further updates. After calling back, the second representative said that booking.com would pay for the booking if marked as a no-show and the guest would be responsible. But still, no resolution was provided. When I called again and finally spoke to a third representative after a two-hour wait and numerous transfers, I was informed that they could not assist me with the payment. Requesting to speak to a manager was unsuccessful as I was told no one was available at that moment. I was asked to wait for a response via email. It's frustrating to see the lack of support and resolution from booking.com. I have lost money due to their unreliable system and unhelpful responses. Hosting with booking.com has been nothing but a headache. It is evident that their priority is collecting commissions and not supporting their hosts. Be cautious if you decide to host with booking.com as they do not prioritize host concerns.

Do not host on this platform

Im amazed at how bad this company is. I've used it on and off for years as a guest, it serves its purpose in that respect.
Recently I added 2 properties as a host. The main problem with one was that it allows anyone to book and disregards any restrictions you have like no children or no pets. Then trying to contact the company....what kind of company does not have a customer support number on the website?? Not even an email address!
Customer support, im guessing are robots, completely useless. When they reply asking for information, you send it, then get a reply from a different robot asking how they can help!
My other property had guests who caused damages. The first question im asked is if the guests stayed in the house! Basically anyone can steal everything or burn the place down and booking.com wouldnt care...because they got their commission.
Trying to delist your property....i still cant see the option. Ive just blocked the calendar for the year, which is not straight forward! Nothing is....logging in! No screening of guests, they can leave bad reviews but you cant review them even for destroying your property and allowing it to happen to someone else.
I was told you can set a £300 security deposit...this is not collected. So its pointless!
I could go on and on but much like sending emails to customer service, a waste of time!

Booking.com is the WORST hosting…

Booking.com is the WORST hosting website I have ever seen. It is not user-friendly at all. They make it extremely hard to:
Update listing
Update host contact information
Contact Customer service
Delete a property
Update two-step verification
Update payout currency

This is the absolute WORST site I have seen. Their EXTRANET (or whatever it's called) is the worse software and needs a complete overhaul. I cant believe they have stayed in business this long with this level of software complexities.

Worst costumer service ever

Worst costumer service ever. I made a reservation with them but I had to cancel my flight. And they didn’t resolve my problem and I ended losing an amount of $200. Be aware before booking a flight trough this “company”. It’s a shame their service.

Inefficient

Inefficient, frustrating, failing, disappointing…honestly I couldn’t find a word to describe how bad booking . com’s hosting system is. I have a property in PR which I listed on booking. The system is so confusing but still able to list the property and eventually started getting some bookings . They charge 15% service fee and they expect you to make that payment instead of collecting their fee directly. I have been making all the payment on time but they couldn’t locate my payments and they closed my account. I have sent multiple emails and made multiple phone calls but all I get is “we are working on”. I sent them all my payment receipts but nothing.

I have work with booking.com for years because you have not another option and it's terrible. Always something that doesn't work and the support don't answer or they don't care. Now I need to get 3 codes every time I shall login and the just say it's security but I spend half my days just to login. Then also all the customers phone numbers suddenly is redacted and they just say that I shall look at google Chrome which I already do, then they said to I need to look at ingocnito window, then the said that I changed ip number, which I didn't I sit every day on the same place at the same laptop etc etc... I could write for every about this terrible company

DO NOT LIST YOUR PROPERTY ON BOOKING.COM

Booking.com is the worst company to list your property on. Their system seems to be purposely set up to scam hosts. As a host, you receive tons of reservations (with no guests showing up) and you are automatically charged their commissions. They ignore your messages telling them guests didn't show up, and start harassing you with emails demanding payment. They are American owned and based in Netherlands. Why? Easy guess. Their reservations are often rejected by embassies for visa application. That’s a dishonest company that definitely deserves a CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT.
