Worst experience of my life

Worst experience of my life. They ruined the beginning of our vacation.

We booked a snorkelling tour costing 250€ on Manawa.
The guide was not at the meeting point on time. They let us find the way without indication. They refused us the activity after 20min of running in all directions to find the way, because they said it was too late.

We arrived at P5 parking at 2:38 PM for our 3 PM snorkelling tour (they ask to come early). Their were no one in P5, no sign, no nothing. In the info in the voucher the only indication was P5, not another parking 500m from there. So we waited patiently. We didn’t see any guide.

We waited for the guide between 2:38 until 2:55 PM then asked a Artic Adventure bus. The bus driver said it wasn’t the place and we had to walk 10min on the road to find it.

At 14:59, I sent a text to say we were on the way to meet the guide.

At 15:00, someone called from Artic Adventure and asked if we were coming. I said we were onsite but couldn’t see Artic Adventure guide (from the road you only see Dive.is and we guessed wrongly there were another place for Artic Adventure). She said to go to the place on the voucher which was P5.

At 15:02, went back to P5.

At 15:06, called back and the phone operator didn’t have any guess on where we should go, and said we should walk to a foottrack. There were a foottrack and run (blue in my photo).

At 15:12, couldn’t see anything, the phone operator didn’t know where to guide us but was pressing us « too late, too late » went back to the place indicated by the bus driver.

At 15:18, finally met the guide. He said it was too late and we couldn’t join the activity. I begged, I was in tears. He didn’t even tried to listen and said no no no.

I explained everything to another lady. I begged another guide. None said we could joined.

They were still briefing the group. It takes 5min to dress and there is a 15min wait to get in the water. It wasn’t this time sensitive. And we WERE ON TIME in P5, we just didn’t see anyone and had no other indication in our voucher.

I called back customer service, still in tears, a inhuman voice said « you don’t have to cry », they were refusing us to an activity we paid so much for and couldn’t do anything about this injustice, of course I cry, I am a sensitive human being in this terrible world.

I sent pictures of us waiting in P5, and GPS location minute by minute, every possible proof by email to customer service, they don’t want to here anything, they don’t reply and cashed the money.

Manawa if you choose this kind of partner, I won’t book with you.

We went back today to do the tour with Troll Experience with Get your Guide, they were nice, the location was correct and everything went fine.

Edit: Partner of Manawa said they will refund us.
Still no apologies on Manawa's end. And so poor apologies from Artic Adventure.

From Manawa, "We hope that the matter is settled now and that we can all move on from here. Mistakes and misunderstandings happen and we all can learn something from this case. Feedback is the best source for growing!" - we all can learn something, sorrrryyyyyy what? Yes I learned to not trust Manawa and Artic Adventures.

I had Manu on the phone a few days after sending an email with all proofs we were on-site at the right time, he was nice and polite, but he said we couldn't be refunded, and to pleade our case by email directly with the partner. You didn't act as third party. When I have an issue with a restaurant while ordering Uber Eats, I contact Uber Eats and not the restaurant, it's Uber Eats that refund us and gather all information to defend customer first...

And we won’t be refunded for parking (1000 ISK / 7€), 4h drive for gas to go to Silfra and back to where we were (around 6000 ISK / 42€) and 1/2 day car rental (11000 ISK / 73€) that we booked on purpose to go to snorkelling spot, but we still appreciate the refund of the activity (total personal expenses of around 18 000 ISK or 120€ while Artic Adventure, your chosen partner, made this mistake).

There were mistakes made on all sides involved, As a response to this, a full refund was issued and it should have already reached your account. Please, let us know if that was not the case.

I understand that you see Manawa providing similar services to Uber Eats but in fact, it is not the same type of business. We have certain agreements with the instructors that are defined by laws and regulations and we cannot issue refunds without their agreement.

As for this case, please let us know what we could do to change your perspective here and improve the experience. As we have already issued a refund we hope that it demonstrates our commitment to resolving issues. Please, rest assured, that your detailed feedback was taken into consideration to help us improve our services.

Manawa fails to deliver AND fails to fix issues

Manawa promises "unforgettable moments," but our experience fell far short of that. The entire process was rushed, with little communication or instruction provided. Despite paying full price, my husband couldn’t fully enjoy the activity due to the wrong equipment, which could have been avoided with proper preparation. Additionally, the promised video wasn’t delivered, and the alternative—three low-quality photos—was a poor substitute. Manawa offered a ridiculously low refund of 10,- (full price was 150,-). Obviously it doesn’t compensate for the disappointing experience. This was not the professional, enjoyable adventure we were led to expect. I would not recommend booking with them.

Added after response from Manawa:
I am fully aware of the importance of weather conditions. But to me that never should a reason to be rude to customers and don't make time for instructions.
About the equipment: that is has never happened before doesn't mean you don't have to take it seriously. Once again, proper preparation and taking your time (even though the weather blabla) could have avoided this. Rather have had my money back, than proceeding and don't getting what I paid for.

And yes, I brought an SD card. I even bought one on beforehand, since we were on holiday and of course did not have one with me in my suitcase.

I am sorry but this sounds like a bunch of excuses to me and even makes my experienced worse. Customer satisfaction below zero. Just went from 2 stars tot the lowest possible. DON'T BOOK WITH MANAWA.

Paragliding is an activity that fully depends on the weather. What you may perceive as being rushed, from the instructor's perspective is an attempt to ensure you will be able to do the activity because in 15 min that will no longer be possible. When they see that the wind allows people to enjoy and have the experience they try not to lose even a minute because very quickly it can be too late or your activity may be cut short.

I hope this makes sense! As for the equipment and the comfort, it is rather surprising to hear it because we have customers all the time doing this activity and never had a complaint about it. But it has been shared with the instructor for future improvement.

Finally, when it comes to the video on the activity page we do inform you that an SD card is needed. As you didn't have one the instructor could not possibly deliver this to you. While the provider does not agree to refund you for the missing video and you not liking the photos, Manawa decided to compensate you for that.

Please note that Manawa is a site that sells activities, so we fully depend on the instructors' decisions when it comes to refunds as they are the ones that deliver the activity itself. In this case, Manawa offered 20 euros which might look like a very low refund but understand that this is on us - we had to fully pay the instructor and cannot also fully refund you for an activity that was actually done.

I am happy to further discuss this case with you to understand what solution would be satisfying to you.

Canyoing the first time ever

The booking was fine. Anwers from qeustions where answered friendly and fast. The canyoing itsself was very good fun. There were good materials. Everything was safe andthere was time for a laugh. Very nice location and very nice guides. I am 58 years old. And the youngest around 10. And we all had fun.

Due to flight issues to Bora Bora we…

Due to flight issues to Bora Bora we did not make it in time to our excursion. We contacted Manawa to cancel and receive a refund, they declined and did not send a refund. After a year the accounting team reached out and stated they were going to issue a refund, however since I got married my husband and I joined bank accounts and I closed the account we used to pay for the excursion. I let macaws know these details but they would not issue anything else but to the closed bank account. I got with my old bank and they did not find the refund and the refund was never received or returned. We went through claims and manawa still did not send the refund like I they said they would. Why even contact me about refunding me if you’re not gonna actually go thru with it. After getting a formal paperwork showing the money was never received from my bank and sending it to customer support they ghosted me. Would not recommend them for the chance of losing out on hundreds of your money.

Fantastic kayak tour starting in…

Fantastic kayak tour starting in Kardamili. No previous experience was needed. The guides were great - funny and attentive. The sea and nature was amazing, as it is in Greece. I would highly recommend this activity to my friends.

Exceptional & Unique Experience

From start to finish this experience was amazing! The instructor was really kind and informative. The beginning instructions were quick and swift so we didn’t waste time. It was safe on the kayaks and not once was I concerned or worried. I wouldn’t say it’s for all fitness types, certainly near the end my shoulders were aching so keep that in mind if you have any injuries or bad health and fitness. The secluded beaches were ASTONISHING and you get to spend decent time at both. You might see wild goats and if you’re patient and calm you can try and feed them some greens (their herbivores so only fruit or veg and greenery from the land). Remember to wear lots of suncream on your thighs and knees prior to getting in the kayaks at the beginning, I applied a little and I still burned haha!

E-bike in Hellesylt - by Uteguiden

Our cruise was docked 1.5 hours late, but the organization adapted perfectly - the meeting place was difficult to find - it was not clearly noted on the reservation - but they helped us well by telephone - the tour was beatiful and our guide Thomas did a more then perfect job !!

My first time paragliding-Awesome experience and I'm 77

I booked on line a paragliding appointment for 2 pm, the fourth of July. The meeting place was Doussard Parient just on the south end of Lake Annecy. Vender has a stand there with a sign to wait when they are in the air. The rep showed up on time, loaded us into van and took us up the mountain for the launch. While in the van the instructors gave briefings in French and English. I was the only American. My co-pilot briefed me about take off and landing. It was my first time. I'm 77. It was the most awesome thing I've done with my clothes on. I bought the ascent package which means after launching we went higher and higher. Tried to get a lool at Mont Blanc but it was clouded in. We did get very close to the mountains surrounding the lake. I heard marmots whistling and saw mountain goats. My instructor Steffan was incredible explaining all the scenery and how the paraglider responds. I was up about an hour and we had a stick it landing at doussard. Steffan used a go pro and recorded the trip and then downloaded it to my phone. Highly recommend this experience

A perfect evening

A perfect evening: all the family, including our dog :) on a boat, with a very welcoming instructor and the dolphins around in the sunset light! Thank you for this amazing Croatia souvenir!

The mamma Mia boat trip was very good…

The mamma Mia boat trip was very good especially when the dolphins swam alongside the boat . The only thing I was disappointed with was having to pay another 15 euros each to go to the church which appears in the film

Coasteering adventure

Booked a coasteering activity with Manawa in Mallorca, Cala Ratjada. The staff were experienced, friendly, supportive and made sure not to push anyone beyond what they were comfortable with. Scenery was absolutely stunning, peaceful and quiet, with crystal clear waters. I also appreciated how careful the leaders were to clean up the coast as we went (they brought a bag to collect any rubbbish/fishing nets they come across). If you're looking for an afternoon to spend scrambling, swimming and leaping from cliffs in beautiful scenery, this is definitely for you.
