Today we had our flight experience, a Christmas present from our son. An amazing experience from start to finish. The ground crew were polite, helpful and knowledgeable.
The flight itself was wonderful. Our pilot Captain Joseph was a great tour guide! Pointing out landmarks, informing us of our hight and speed and cracking jokes!
Thank you all for making our day memorable.

They cancelled the 1st trip. Demanded another fee to 'extend the voucher' as the options offered weren't acceptable. Absolute scammers who should be investigated further. Save yourself the hassle, you will not get your money back which seems to be the MO for this company.

Following the response below. Just to add a bit of clarity, many of the offered altrnatives from the 65 mails were not at our chosen location. Add to that the dates were not in windows we were both available to attend and...oh yes, they required a voucher extension fee. Apologies if I've offended the sensebilities of Adventure 001, but I will revert to the title of this review AVOID AVOID AVOID

Well, what a fantastic day for my Mum. She had this ride gifted to her from the family for her birthday last year, unfortunately due to bad weather it was cancelled twice for safety reasons. This time however the weather was perfect. My Mum (Barbara Marsh) who is now 88 years old had a co-pilot seat & was raring to go. The location at Moor Grange Farm was a lovely setting & easily accessible All the ground crew & team were absolutely brilliant, especially Tony who swept her off her feet!! & was so very kind. They all were. My Mum had the time of her life. The pilot was lovely (sorry didn't catch his name) everyone had a great sense of humour made everything so easy, they all went above & beyond. After the flight we were able to purchase photos & have a cup of tea & cake as a nice finish to the day. We can't thank them enough for such a great experience. The booking process is easy to follow & the communication is good.
I will highly recommend anyone of any age to try out a flight with this company, they are brilliant.

Absolutely appalled by the way Adventure 001 handled what should have been a straightforward request during an extremely serious family emergency

We had a helicopter ride booked for last Sunday and contacted the company on the Tuesday before, after my father-in-law suffered a heart attack. I explained the situation, offered hospital documentation and reached out to reschedule, hoping for some level of understanding or goodwill given this was a genuine medical emergency and not a cancellation on the day

I am aware there is a seven day cancellation policy, but the issue here is the complete lack of empathy or flexibility in exceptional circumstances. Instead, we kept being referred back to the cancellation policy, with a cold response stating “there is nowhere to escalate this” and that I had “agreed to the terms when booked”

No empathy. No compassion. No attempt whatsoever to help

We were eventually able to send other people in our place, but only after paying a £12.50 name change fee per ticket. This was on top of already having to pay a £5 fuel fee. While this meant the tickets were not completely lost, the whole process was terrible and added unnecessary stress during an already awful time for our family

The whole booking experience also feels designed to extract more money from customers. When booking a voucher through Buyagift, make sure you read the terms and conditions very carefully, as the additional charges are not something you would necessarily expect unless you go through the fine print. Customers should also be aware that there are add-on fees, such as the £5 fuel charge PP, which further adds to the cost

This was a significant amount of money to risk losing, and the handling of the situation caused additional anxiety during one of the hardest times we have experienced. What should have been an exciting experience turned into something upsetting

I fully understand that businesses have terms and conditions, but basic humanity and customer care should still exist, especially when someone is facing a genuine medical emergency

I can appreciate there are lots of positive reviews. But there is also a common trend in all the negative ones, this company only cares about money, so if something unexpected happens you get burnt. I would strongly advise people to avoid this company

Becareful. Great Helicopter pilot and health and safety team. However, i was fed a pack of lies to try and get more money out of us! Already paid a fuel surcharge, fair enough was emailed about this. But, we got there and the guy checking us in said we can upgrade you today for a longer flight, 20 pounds extra per person, i said no thanks i have booked our flight for 10.50 am so i don't want an upgrade. Was told if we don't pay this extra we can't guarantee the flight, had travelled an hour and bought this as a christmas present for my partner! They relucantly said we will do this for 20 pounds in total and trust me you will enjoy the longer flight and you will go earlier. Paid for a 12 miles flight, then paid this last minute so called upgrade. Guess what, that was a lie, didn't even travel 11 miles! So a complete con to try and get more money. I have emailed this company saying i want my money back you stole, didn't even get the flight we paid for, guess what heard nothing back!! Be careful people, daylight robbery going on.

What an adventure well worth the wait . Adam was our pilot and took us over Newcastle past St James,s Park towards the Tyne.,over the bridges on the Tyne and pass the Glasshouse (The Sage) ,down to the coast and back up the Wear past the Stadium of light and the Angel of the North. It was a great journey ,a very comfortable flight. Fabulous scenery on a beautiful day. Our thanks also go to Hattie, Alan and the two safety guys especially who put us at our ease before the flight 0and looked after us.

I booked a 30 minute flight over Cambridge for my husband's 70th birthday. What an amazing experience! We live in Cambridge and it was fun to identify all the wonderful landmarks, including our own house. In fact we could easily see our front door and garage and we've taken a few photos from the helicopter. It's great to see where we are in relation to all the landmarks we know. The pilot was really friendly and so were the ground crew and the two other passengers who shared the flight. We felt safe and thoroughly excited the whole time. I strongly recommend this experience. In fact, we're going to do it again for my 60th in September. My husband had the front seat this time and he said there was so much to see. However next time, he said, he won't take so many photos and will concentrate on looking out of the window a bit more (and he wants me to have the front seat too).

Our son bought a flying lesson for two for my husband and I for Christmas. I hate heights so was very dubious, my hubby was very keen! Our instructor and pilot Tony was fabulous and put me at ease. Though I still had white knuckles and wet palms....I did it, and was very proud of myself! Tony was very knowledgeable in his subject and very funny, which did help with my tension! Would recommend to everyone.

I thought my helicopter experience was a complete waste of money. They advertised for a 6 mile helicopter experience and in fact it only lasted 5 minutes. Which I think is misleading the customer here. They asked me to pay another £15 to sit in the front which we did, but again thought this was a waste of money just for a 5 minute trip. They also charged extra for photographs which in fact they could have emailed to me, which cost nothing! I would not recommend this company as they are only thinking about money and what they can get out of the customer.

AVOID AVOID AVOID!! First time I’ve had an opportunity for helicopter pleasure flight. Once they’ve got your money, they don’t care.
Had to extend my voucher for personal reasons twice, paid the extra, now I’ve had to cancel again, they want more payments again. Don’t even think about asking for your money back, that’s a definite no.
Will not recommend this company and will never use again.

This was bought for us as a present. We tried to use last year, and it had to be cancelled for safety, which is ABSOLUTELY fair enough - I do not want that compromised at all! However, in order to get another flight in, even with the extension of the ticket, we had to pay to upgrade. Closer to the day we were emailed saying it was a different helicopter and so I asked about swapping who was on the flight, I was told this was doable but with a £12.50 fee. Begrudingly, I paid this. Just before the flight day we were emailed saying there was now a £5pp surcharge due to the issues in Iran. This was hidden, very well hidden, within the T&C's at the bottom of the page, nowhere on any of the actual emails or correspondence we received. While looking at the site I spotted that actually you can change passengers for free online. I queried this with the person who emailed us (Operations Manager), and while he replied very quickly with a link to the T&Cs for the supplement, he said the change was always chargeable. I sent back screenshots showing where this wasnt the case and have had radio silence ever since.

The company seems to be desperate to make money if I'm honest which really has taken the shine off the whole thing. We have had LOADS of emails offering upgrades/changes etc. and then to charge for something which can be done for free is just unethical and a bit immoral.

In terms of the crew at Newcastle, these were brilliant and so was the flight. Its just a shame that the money grabbing charging has put a dampner on the whole day.

My wife and I very much enjoyed the steam train trip between Chinnor and Princes Risborough. Lots of attentive and well informed staff who clearly have a passion for the project. Our little dog was also made to feel very welcome. The trip is quite brief (about 15 mins each way) but it was great to sit in one of the atmospheric old carriages again in a trip back to yesteryear., Later we went for a very nice walk in the local Chinnor countryside also recommended

The relationship Adventure 001 has with the experience provider, in this case JJ's is clearly first class. My friend and I both turned up as complete novices with voucher in hand and the guy running the office was welcoming and made us feel like we were already club members. We were brought into the stand early and met other guys who had purchased the experience through Adventure 001 who added to our enjoyment as a larger group is more fun. We had one of their most experienced coaches "H" who made the experience even better. Will definitely use Adventure 001 again and recommend to family and friends.

I booked the extended Dambusters Tour for my husband and grandson for Christmas 2024.
Despite the cancellation in 2025 and then dates that we couldn't make, my husband and grandson finally had their tour on Sunday 19th April.
Quick check in on arrival and even better that it was across from the Moorlands Pub on Owler Bar, so toilet stop and a hot drink before set off.
The clear skies and sunshine made it a memorable experience for them both.
My 10 year old autistic grandson who's obsession of reservoirs and dams absolutely loved it and the other passengers mentioned he knew more than the pilot as they flew over Derbyshire.
Many thanks to the pilot and friendly ground staff who made the check in process for the waiting passengers go so smoothly.
Well worth paying for the extended 25 minute Tour, even my husband thought it was fab, so thank you it was well worth the wait.

Staff very helpful, reassuring and friendly.
The pilot was lovely and introduced himself and then talked about what we could see and answered questions that were asked.
The 2 ground men were very helpful, helping my 74 year old mom back into the waiting area after we had took off and helping my 82 year old dad to get in and out of the helicopter.
The process was well organised and all staff were friendly and helpful.
We thoroughly enjoyed our experience with you.

From the minute I arrived, everything about this experience was first class - the setting, parking, cafe, staff and the experience itself. I had a great time and highly recommend it.

The flight was a great experience, it was part of my eightieth birthday present. The whole team were lovely and a photo to help remember the day.

April 18th 2026, Falcon experience taster day was fantastic. The birds are so beautiful. The handler was fantastic, she answered all the question, really interesting. The bond between them was amazing.

Super helicopter ride over the South Lakes, UK. We had to re-book this trip from several months before but thankfully this time the weather held and we had such wonderful views over Morecambe Bay and Lake Windermere. Very memorable. Staff were lovely and we felt very safe.
