AVOID! AVOID! AVOID!

AVOID! AVOID! AVOID!

Service was hired on June 16. On June 23, we requested cancellation due to the poor service interface and little use. The request for cancellation was made within the period stipulated by the company as a "trial".

The company's customer service responded to the cancellation email saying that:
"Patricia M (ADVFN plc)

23 Jun 2020, 13:49 BST

Good morning Ademir,

ADVFN thanks your contact!

We did not find a paid subscription to cancel, through your user adefexpress and email (email hidden)

Please inform the CPF or any other email that you may have used to register

If you have any questions or anything else I can do for you, I am at your entire disposal.

Sincerely"

Today 7 months after the event I noticed a monthly charge of U $ 25 on my credit card. I contacted the company that answered me again:

"Good afternoon Anderson,

Thanks for the info.

I found the registration with the user name adefexpress on the email informed (email hidden) does not match what is registered on this user.

ADVFN offers its clients its services of technical analysis and online quotation of securities, in real time through service packages in which, according to their interests, they meet the needs of the contracted service in the best possible way.

To this end, remunerates the Stock Exchanges, the rights to distribute access, according to the list of stock exchanges in the countries available in the system, which imposes on the company, of course, a series of operating costs for maintaining the offer, under the terms in which hired.

Having made this clarification, it is important to note, then, that our services are remunerated for making data available and accessing the registered user, regardless of their actual use.

However, due to the regular availability of services to the registered user, until the formal notification of cancellation, as well as the operating costs borne by the notifier, for maintaining the offer as contracted, our position is that it is not shown due to the retroactive monthly chargeback .

Monthly service subscriptions have a grace period related to a monthly fee, which has been forgiven and access will be available during that period until February 15th

If you have any questions or anything else I can do for you, I am at your entire disposal.

Sincerely, Patricia S

This is absolutely absurd! As a customer I was deceived by the company because they told me that there was no premium service hired. It refuses to refund the amount charged for the canceled service.

AVOID! As I said in addition to the poor interface and bad user experience and finally denied refund of a cancelled unused product after 7 months charging my card for the product.

Best on the Market

I have been on this website over 5 years now and very useful for my needs. Some pages are a bit busy and confusing. Forum, newspaper, charts are good.

Just been autobilled £638.37 for a third year in spite of having called them to cancel when their charge covertly appeared on my credit card statement a year ago. Not had a single email from them since then and only noticed the stealth autobill when I got my credit card statement. Support is slow and rude basically telling me tough luck and "No refunds" in spite of the fact that they are charging you for a year in advance. Any company in this day and age using the phrase "No refunds" is a clearly relying on underhanded tactics to make money. Avoid like the plague.

Avoid ADVFN like the plague.

I have so much data on investments held with ADVFN so have persevered with them until now, but now must choose to leave: their data is so bad, inaccurate, stocks shown as delisted when they just move, others just disappear for no apparent reason, and so many other errors that I couldn't list them all.

Every time support is contacted, little if anything is done, and I spend my time doing workarounds to keep things together.

AVOID them like you would a plague.

I have gradually built about a duplicate portfolio elsewhere and will be going soon; not before time.

Lat time I told a business it wasn't too big to fail, it was HBOS, just weeks before they did! ADVFN: you are not too big to fail, lol. :)

Dishonourable company

Dishonourable company. After experiencing inaccurate data on a number of company financials, over many months and bringing this to their attention every time. They finally apologised and offered me access free of advertising over the remainder of my subscription. They have now cancelled that and put me back on the Advert version. Poor service - takes approx a week to get a reply via email and the phone access is practically impossible. I too experienced the 30 day rule at the end of my subscription period and have had to cancel the mandate at the bank. The best alternative looks to be the share centre for financial data.

Total crooks AVOID AVOID AVOID

This warning is not about the quality of their products which as far as I am aware are good enough but the way their payments system works and the ruthless way they enforce their T & C's.
Last year I decided to take up a special offer and bought the silver account which gave me access to real time share prices and various other stuff. I used it for 6 or 7 months before deciding that share dealing was not for me so I sold most of my remaining shares and more or less forgot about ADVFN expecting my access to their services to stop in this year.
That was a major mistake!
While checking my bank account I noticed a payment to ADVFN for over £220. I thought there must have been a mistake so I contacted them by private messaging. After a day or two I go no reply so phoned them to be told by a very aggressive agent that to stop auto renewal of my account I should have contacted them not less than 30 days before the renewal date. He said this was all clearly stated in their terms and conditions and there was nothing I could do about it. They have no policy for refunding payments once made regardless of the circumstances.
I've written to them several times since and only received one equally aggressive reply stating the same as the agent said on the phone. Now they are ignoring my messages.
I even spoke to my bank about it but apparently this is all totally legal so I had to ask my bank to block any further payments.
If you decide to ignore this warning make sure you check the terms and conditions for exiting the contract and unless you are happy to continue make sure you follow them.

Edit: After reading similar stories from other folk I will add the following.
If you have signed up to their services and don't wish to continue then contact your bank and ask them to put a block on any further payments. These people cannot be trusted and if you don't believe me then do a bit more research before giving them the back door key to your bank account.

Good luck all
