To rebut the response AGS posted on this thread: I was not asked to pay the bill until just before Christmas. The bill has been paid in full at this time. AGS sent me an email apologizing for "unavoidable" issues in this move. There was nothing unavoidable. They low-balled the estimate to get my belongings, then increased the bill by nearly a third. They refused to tell me where my belongings were, even going to far as to tell me they had been taken to Kobe. Avoid this company.

We would like to clarify a few points:

Firstly, you were given the amount owed to AGS in October 2022 with request to pay, when you advised that you were excluding AGS from further being involved with your shipment. Thereafter, as no payment was received for services rendered, reminders were sent towards the end of each month to advise that storage costs for another month would accrue.
You proceeded with payment on 31 January 2023. AGS has agreed to carry the added storage costs from15 January to 10 February 2023 to assist you in finalising your new logistics plans.
Your volume estimate has been conducted professionally according to FIDI-FAIM standards and the increase in your quote was due to freight increases as you have not returned your signed quote soon enough to secure the booking of your container to the shipping line.
Finally, you were given the contact details of our agent in Okinawa on two occasions (in October and November 2022) which you now keep preferring to ignore and accuse AGS of “refusing” to tell you where your belongings are.
AGS has been transparent with you along the whole process and wishes you all the best in sending and receiving your effects at destination.

Do not use this company

Do not use this company! Dispite the lovely website claiming to guide you through the whole process, this is definately not the case. I asked for my goods to be sent in a shared container and was not informed that it hadn't been, so in fact the quote they sent was fraudulent from the start. I am now incurring even more charges in Australia due to the way it was sent, on top of the original charges for a single container. Now looking to sue! Terrible company and not transparent at all! Do not use!

As an international removals’ organisation, located in many countries, we do strive to provide excellent service as, it is commonly accepted, moving house from one country to another can be traumatic and stressful.
However, there are occasions where the expectations and assumptions of people relocating conflict with the operational realities any removal company (not just AGS) need to consider, especially where third parties are involved, such as, for example, shipping lines, freight consolidation agencies and customs regulations of the various countries.
It is agreed that a request was made for the effects to be shipped in a “shared container”. AGS has explained that the frequency of consolidated shipments from Morocco to Australia is virtually zero. The quotation you accepted specifies “Loaded in a sea container, delivery Port of Brisbane”. Further advise was also given that the other alternative was to wait for an opportunity to consolidate, but then no time frame could be given. Also, the effects would then have to be crated. It represents an additional cost since loose items cannot be accommodated in a consolidated container. For clarity, the cost to have shipped in a ‘shared’ container would have been in the region of 5600 euros with no indication of shipping dates. Additionally, monthly storage charges would also have been applicable until the effects can be consolidated. It is most probable the final bill would have been superior to the invoice you have been presented with.
Furthermore, the expenses being incurred in Australia for import clearance (i.e., Terminal Handling Charges, customs clearance and/or inspection costs, etc.) has no bearing (as already explained) on how personal effects are shipped (in a single container or shared). It is also reiterated that a private person cannot attend to the import clearance without the appointment of an authorised Clearing Agent. Again, this has been explained by AGS and an Agent in Australia.
The accusations voiced that AGS was ‘fraudulent’ and labelled as a ‘terrible company’ has been viewed with concern. AGS strongly refutes this as communication and explanation have been constant and thorough. We regret once again the misunderstanding and we wish you all the best in settling in your new country of residence.

WORST MOVER EVER - DO NOT USE

Following a move from Hong Kong to France with AGS, I have been battling with the claim department for over 1 year now to obtain settlement on damages due to the move.
AGS has been reluctant since the beginning and has been trying to avoid any payment for the insurance claim I filed. First they started minimizing the cost despite insuring specifically all items with the replacement value.
I then submitted quotations to justify the cost of repair or replacement. After a few months chasing them, AGS appointed an expert who corroborated the repair cost in its official report and even increase the cost of the repair. Initially AGS was offering me 2000 USD for the entire claim. After they appointed an expert, the cost climbed up to 8000 USD.
AGS then refused to pay for the transportation of the furniture for the repairs to take place. After many months of back and forth and insistence, they finally caved. I then decided to accept the offer made.
It s been now over 2 months and no payment has been ever received despite weekly call and email.
THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE IS LOCATED IN CAPE TOWN, South Africa despite my move being from Hong Kong to France.
It s near impossible to get someone on the phone and emails are not being replied to.
I STRONGLY ADVISE TO NOT USE AGS AS A MOVER UNLESS YOU WANT TO HAVE A MAJOR HEADACHE.
My sofa and other furniture have been in storage for over a year waiting for repairs. So in addition of waiting for the payment, I also have to pay storage cost before I can get them fixed.

AGS Zagreb - Great communication, Great service, Great people

After contacting about 10 moving companies for our move from Australia to Croatia we decided to engage AGS. They were quick to respond, explained what the requirements were and sent all required forms straight away. Reading reviews of other moving companies made us very stressed and nervous about our move, but AGS showed from the first contact what a professional, well oiled machine they are. All our questions were answered promptly, kindly and in great detail. They were the only company happy to engage in a detailed conversation with us. With AGS Zagreb you really get an impression that you and your belongings are in safe hands and that’s what you want when moving across the world. Not once they showed impatience and annoyance with our many emails and questions. Our shipment arrived in perfect order and in a very reasonable time considering what is going on in the world at the moment and comparing to the time other companies take to deliver your belongings. And another very important thing is, with AGS there are no hidden or extra charges. You pay what they quote you and that’s it.

Damaged and Missing Items and No Response/Responsibility

Missing items, unpaid insurance claim for over a year, damaged furniture, non delivery of bedroom furniture so I had to stay overnight in a hotel....How much more incompetent can a self proclaimed highly professional international moving company be?? How much more out of pocket expenses should I pay for an expensive move?

I have waited over a year for my insurance claim and sent countless emails and calls. Zero response apart from the French office that needs to liaise with the UK office because they have no record of my file.

I have moved internationally 7 times with Crown, Sterling and Cadogan Tate. Never have I experienced such sloppy and callous service.

I filed a complaint on 20 April (scroll down) and finally got results due to revenge review. I am writing this review to voice the truth--AGS will respond to negative reviews and if you are affiliated with a big corporation or embassy.

My move was a civilian move with no corporate affiliation, so therefore I have been treated like a second class citizen, begging for my claims and goods.

We had fantastic communication with Mihael in Zagreb who was great to work with on the logistics & import paperwork. Great service

Great service! There was a lot of work which I believe required at least 4 crew members, and only two guys came today but they did a tremendous job. Everything was done in record time and I'm very pleased with their work.

AGS Arusha Tanzania quoted a price…

AGS Arusha Tanzania quoted a price which we agreed for our move from Moshi, Tanzania to Uzbekistan. They then reviewed the price and increased the quote by $10,000. AGS has also done this to two other families closer to their move date. Causing alot of distress. Obviously we did not use this company.
