Pleasantly surprised

Tim in Bristol was a delight. He really does know his stuff and going in as first time buyers we didn’t know what to think or feel when it comes to buying sofas. Had so many companies let us down in the past but we’re sure we’ve picked the right one.

Absolute rubbish customer care from…

Absolute rubbish customer care from this company I paid over £200 insurance extra for my leather sofa which was a guarantee against damage and accidental damage but there was some damage on the leather they came out and looked and said it’s structural so doesn’t cover that and left after severa emails still stuck with a damaged leather sofa
I don’t know how they can say structural when it’s on the leather
The extra for accidental damage is a rip off stay away from this company they didn’t even offer to repair it for a cost so I have a £4000 sofa that needs putting in a skip

£72 callout charge

18 months ago we brought a three and two sweater leather sofa form this company. The sofa is lovely no real problems. But now I have a small and easily fixed problem. A recliner spring as broken. So I go to the shop I brought it from to report the problem. They told me I have to contact customer services. So that's what I did. Thinking it would be as simple as putting a spring in the post. How wrong was I. They told me I had to pay £ 72. For a engineer to come and look at it. This is part of your lifetime guarantee. What I understand is this is what happens every time you have a problem with your purchase. So be aware the lifetime guarantee as a Sting in its tale. I won't be replacing the spring myself Because if I do my life time guarantee is void. I also purchased a 5 year guarantee at the cost of £ 235 against accidental damage. I'm now wondering how good that is.

Absolutely abysmal service.

Absolutely abysmal service.
My elderly father in law had 2 sofas delivered at the beginning of June, one was delivered damaged and the delivery driver bullied him into taking this (stating that he would probably get his sofa for free if he kept it).
We are still now waiting for the new part, nearly into November, with little to non communication.
Eileen, the 'customer service representative' has been nothing but rude and unhelpful, ignoring the majority of my emails and then talking over me at any given point.
I am now in the process of looking at legal action to get this resolved.

Do yourself a favour and don't buy from here. I wish I could give this 0 stars.

I wrote a very good review back in…

I wrote a very good review back in august 2022 following good service in the Gloucester store
My furniture was delivered on 31 October and even though I love it I had some damage to my newly decorated walls and a big scratch to my newly laid floor
The delivery/ installation people did not get us to inspect it just said all done sign this form to say you are happy at first glance it was ! Then noticed the damage after they had gone ! Raised it straight away and of course sent photos etc
Fast forward to 17.2.23 they phoned to say nothing they could do as we signed form to say all ok
Very shocking after sales service - had my £1800 and don’t care , don’t want whole new floor just a token gesture to help pay for repair to floor
Really wish I didn’t go in and spend a further £800 on table and chairs which is being delivered on 21.2.23 ……
Just find this really poor service and won’t shop there again

AHF in Gloucester

Recently we bought two sofas from AHF Gloucester. After a long waiting period of 8 months the sofa delivered to us. The sofa was assembled by the staff who delivered the item on the spot. Firstly they were failed to notify us that the two legs of one of the sofa was missing. Followed by several phone alls and email from us AHF sent me two legs, but they were the wrong ones, so I contacted the store, who claimed there was nothing they could do and that I should contact main office. I'm still looking for the spares, but I'm not getting anywhere . I'm not sure I can put my faith in this firm. How are they able to provide a lifetime guarantee? Service is awful.

Not the best service

Not the best service. Table turned up damaged. I hadt ti wait another 4 weeks for the table extension. Drivers or so call workmen built the table and chairs etc. Steve wonder could have done a better job. I had to go and re-tighten all the nuts and bolts again. The drivers left all the rubbish that they said would be taken away. I have asked for compo but. Nothing. Stay away. Wish I had now gone elsewhere. PleSe take note go elsewhere.

Rotten deceitful company

This company should be ashamed and embarrassed. All of the staff from the stores people to the head office people to the drivers have lied over and over again & do not know what customer service is nor do they know what quality furniture should be. I ordered a bed in may bank holiday & was told a lead time of 2/4 weeks delivery as all furniture is made in the UK, this was a lie as the bed frame was shipped from Malaysia and arrived on 20.01.21 seven months after the original time, covid was of course used as an excuse but I work in logistics and covid does not affect imports or exports by months on end it’s a matter of a few weeks delay. Free delivery and free assembly of the bed was offered due to this, upon delivery the drivers demanded a £70 cash payment, it was explained to them there was to be no charge and they threatened to take the bed away and we told them go ahead and take it then. They began to complain how “they are always doing this to us they never tell us and they never pay us” we apologised but insisted it was between them and the company, very unprofessional to rant at the customer. The headboard had a rip in it so the driver instructed us to contact the store who ignored all calls and emails, they washed their hands of the problem now delivery had taken place they didn’t care about charging customers £1703 for faulty goods. I go to head office and request a new headboard they tell me it’s not possible and a whole new bed will need to be delivered and the old one taken away, they also expected me to pay £70 for assembly of a new bed, laughable for headoffice to expect the customer to pay for a replacement of a faulty item! We agreed delivery & assembly would be of no charge in the end. The drivers arrive the following week and say “£70 upfront love or you can build it yourself” my mother explained the situation and told them to take it up with head office “we ain’t doing that love you need to pay us £70 otherwise we’re only changing the headboard” which is what I requested in the first place may I add & was told it’s not possible. Driver then proceeded to say my paperwork says nothing about a new bed it only says we’re here to replace the headboard. They go ahead & replace the headboard and manage to brake the bed whilst doing so, they crack the ottoman bracket off. If they did what they were meant to from the start instead of lying and deceiving this wouldn’t of happened. I would also like to add the paperwork they left behind clearly stated ‘take away old bed and assemble new bed’ disgusting fraudulent ‘service’ I again contacted head office who offered apologies said how disappointed they were and how it’s not the service they want to give to customers bla bla bla. I was assured it would be collected and replaced and assembled this time around like it should have been before. I get a phone call the day before to say “I’m sorry we can’t replace the broken bed because the drivers don’t want to do a 3rd assembly” that’s hardly my problem they broke the bed and headoffice are telling me their precious drives don’t want to build a new one! Outrageous. I was then given the option of keeping the broken bed with £100 off, how insulting I wouldn’t even accept the bed for free it’s broken for goodness sake!! Second option was collect the bed and refund it, however they would not also collect and refund the UNUSED mattress and pillows. What do I need a mattress and pillows for with no bed??? I bought it with the intended purpose of it all going together. The matter is now with the furniture ombudsman. I asked the senior manager why he couldn’t replace my broken bed he told me the bed was discontinued, that was a lie it’s in stock and the drivers even had one on their van today when collecting the old one and said they couldn’t build it for us because “I chose to cancel the order” lies after lies after lies. I tried to cancel the order in October and was told sorry no cancellations so how could I have cancelled the order!!?? I forgot to add the senior manager was caught out in his lie about the bed being discontinued as he later admitted on the phone the drivers just didn’t want to do it and the company were not prepared to do anything further and wanted to “get this closed down as it’s been going on for months” he also refused to give me the contact details for the furniture ombudsman, I found these myself online however. Disgusting rotten appalling experience, terrible company & indifferent staff at all levels. Oh and still haven’t received a refund for the bed frame.
