From bad to absolutely awful - Stay far far away!

AirMiles is a program that went from great to absolutely AWFUL in no time at all with absolutely no value anymore!

Years ago, I tried booking airline tickets for two across Canada and found that full fare tickets were only $200 more than spending over 6,000 airmiles plus the "additional fees" AirMiles wanted... needless to say, I paid for the tickets without the use of any airmiles... but I thought not all was lost... I could still use the miles for merchandise....WRONG! As an ONYX member, I can (or rather could) find an item not in the catalogue, forward all the info to AirMiles... They would quote me miles needed, and once I approved, make the purchase on my behalf sending me the item and charging me the miles. As a prudent customer, I would wait until the item was on sale and then forward the info to AirMiles to get better value from the airmiles I had to use. While that worked for my previous purchases....NO MORE. AirMiles will NOT honour the current sales price but instead charges you / quotes you the FULL retail price. What is the point of buying something when on sale?? It is obvious AirMiles is charging more than advertised. When asked what happens to the excess miles not needed, or the money NOT spent on the purchase, their response was ... that's confidential. In other words they charge you airmiles for the full retail price, then purchase the item on sale and then keep the excess miles they charged you and NOT redeem you for it. Their game plan is to reduce your purchase power so they can keep more for their profits! For a $10 or $20 savings... who cares? But when the sales price is several hundred dollars less than retail, this is a LOT of your hard earned miles lost to AirMiles with absolutely NO explanation except that it is part of their terms and conditions! At least they're being honest about charging more miles than they should. My AirMiles card is in the garbage and I will no longer use the program or frequent the vendors! There are lots of other programs to pick from that don't steal from their customers! Good bye AirMIles!

Terrible!

Terrible!! Cell phone required to join. 4 hour call centre waits. Only merchant left is Shell! Pitiful program....AVOID!

Don't waste your time. Not worth it anymore

Someone in Winnipeg accessed my account and emptied it purchasing fuel at a Shell station in August 2024. I have the address, exact time, and I'm sure the gas station had footage of the individual back then.

I reported the incident immediately, but made me feel like I was the scammer when they suggested I probably shared my password or Air Miles account number. They froze my account and said the investigation would take a maximum of six weeks. Two months later, nothing had been done, so I called again. I was told my file was prioritized and would be reviewed within 24 hours, with a call expected that week. Almost a year later, after two phone calls and several attempts to speak to someone in a reasonable timeframe, my account is still frozen. I cannot collect or redeem miles, and their phone wait times are ridiculous, and they removed the callback option; which was the only way I got to speak to someone the first couple of times.
Not worth the time, effort and "benefits" anymore. I will let my account rest in peace and suggest to other do the same.

Airmiles has gone to hell.
I can't login, I reset everything, and it's a circle of hell switching back and forth between pins and passwords, nothing works.
The wait time on the help line is between 1-2 hours!! No way of emailing or asking for help. The bot is useless.

Great, I have 0 points now. 😐

We don't use Air Miles that often (typically Optimum). In any case, I had 106 points on my Air Miles. I logged into my account today, since I wanted to set up Air Miles on my new phone. This is what their website says about my balance now:
Cash: 0$
Dreams: 0$

And it also says this now:

What does that even mean?! And how the hell does Air Miles retire its OWN program as its own Partner?! 😐 Make that make sense.

I think it's time I try out a new program.

I got so many point to redeem but I forgot my PIN number , I don't even remember that I got one , Try to reach out to customer but every time I call for help their waiting time is 3 hours , who have time like this, They should have other option like Email.

I made a mistake booking a one way…

I made a mistake booking a one way flight. As soon as a realized, I called Air miles to cancel it. I was only on hold for about 1hr. A very nice gentleman by the name of Sebastian provided outstanding customer service and rectified the mistake I had made. I'm very grateful for his help.

I phoned Air Miles.ca phone number and automation said 1hr 45 min wait time It is now 2 hrs 15 min I am missing many Dream & cash miles and u can’t get through to this Absurd business called Air Miles Canada The chat is the same experience What a crock of shit No customer satisfaction whatsoever I can understand why they have such a very low review rating I just want to know why my miles are missing that’s all I hope you people working for Air Miles Canada read these bad reviews and have the proper employees look after this huge and disgusting MESS!!

Onyx membership confusion

The agent I reached was very nice but I question if agents know or understand the rules of onyx membership because online information is different than the information from agent. Wait times are much too long and there is no call-back option, which would indeed be an asset.

Tried multiple times to redeem miles, keep getting an error message Spent over 111 minutes on terminal hold with chatbot, before it disconnected me. Worst. Customer. Service. EVER.

Can't log in and can't recover anything

Forget something going wrong, Had a previous experience where I had a 4 hour wait on the phone and now I can' even log into my account by either method and can't recover anything. Won't even recognize my account number. Most useless site I have ever used. If I am ever able to get in I will try to redeem all of my points and get a different card.

I bought a keg gift card from air miles…and was refused

I bought a keg gift card from air miles with my points . I moved and have never been able to use my gift card or get on the online site.i can no longer sign in .
I have phoned about 4 or 5 times and the wait is an hr .every time . I am a disabled senior and the wait is just too onerous . I have another gift card I would like to use for Sephora but I don’t want to be turned down .
I have stopped collecting air miles points for almost a year because of this. I still liked air miles but not if I can’t use my gift cards .
I took the time to write to air miles head office to see if they could fix my account online so I could access it and I asked why I can’t use my card …….NO RESPONSE. ……unreal . I am saddled with 100 dollars in gift cards and many points . Is air miles worth it anymore ….?

Been a collector for over 2 decades and…

Been a collector for over 2 decades and collected thousands of points, only to have them fall dormant and get 'removed' because I haven't used my account for a while. Funny, that my login is still valid for the website and doesn't show that my account has expired. I just have 0 points showing. What a scam! Leaves a very sour taste in my mouth!

Customer Service is the Worst

My account was hacked and points stolen. I tried 4 times to contact contact an agent and was on the phone for over an our waiting with no results. Then I spent and hour and and half online. Still never spoke to anyone. Customer service is the worst. Out over $600.00 and no one to get help from. Online service is the worst I have ever experienced. This program is a complete waste of time and effort to be part of.

Wait times unacceptable

I agree with everybody about the wait on hold. I have been on hold for 2 hours and 52 minutes, but I was told my wait time would be 2 hours and 10 minutes. I don't believe there are that many people calling Airmiles every time I call. I watched 2 tv shows and went grocery shopping while on hold and when I returned home I was still on hold. How many people do they have working there??? I'm about to go for a run with headphones so I can answer. I wonder if they'll answer my call while running? If there are people working there, they definately need more staff. I'm tired of hearing a recording saying agents are trying to get to calls quickly. Haha. What a joke.

WORST EXPERIENCE

WORST EXPERIENCE, i have spent thousands of dollars to earn miles and now that i am trying to redeem some, they BLOCKED my account. SAMANTHA is the agent that blocked my account. BLOCKED FOR NO REASON. I had to wait 6-10 weeks to get this resolved for simply trying to redeem a 10$ gift card with my miles, while i have spent over 50000$ on my credit card to earn my miles. SAMANTHA has to be looked at.
