Hired a car for collection at Malaga…

Hired a car for collection at Malaga Airport.
Shuttle service from the Airport to Alamo was about 5 minutes.
The car was exactly the model I had reserved.
It was spotless inside and out.
The staff were friendly and helpful and picking up the car couldn't have been easier.
10 days later I dropped it back, again a great experience, really friendly staff, it was very busy.
They had the car checked, my deposit was released and I was shuttled right to the door of Departures all in less than 20 minutes.

Beware as you will not get what you hire

Hired a paid for a premium convertible. Arrived to not being there. Manager at the time on duty 20th October 2025 at Airport branch of Alamo told be to
Come back on the 21st morning to Get the car.
I returned the next day and the manager then on duty called Rafael saying there is no convertible but promised to compensate on the Friday.
I was lied to but driving an hour on the 21st to no show car and an hour back again,
Cut the story short, I returned the car on the Friday and Rafael was there.
I said please process the discount. He said he cannot because process it was prepaid but promised to call and contact the prepay company.
No call no email.
I have sent an email and no reply either.

Disappointed as I didn’t get what I paid for.
I wanted to surprised my kid with a convertible to take advantage of the beautiful weather and didn’t.

Nothing worse than being misled, deceived and lied to.
Beware.
The car I was given was full of dents and scratches all over. I have taker videos and photos as proof. The oil management light was on as well. I was told this is normal.

Beware from Alamo Malaga airport branch.

Booked automatic, only manual available + no refund on petrol

I booked an automatic car because I cannot drive manual. When I arrived early, I was told no automatics were available. As I was on a work trip, I had to wait hours for a car, causing me to miss a meeting with a colleague.

I was instructed to return the car with a half-full tank, but, unsure of the exact amount, I accidentally filled it completely. Despite repeated attempts over several weeks to contact the local branch for reimbursement, I received no response. Only after filing a formal complaint was I told I would be reimbursed, but the local branch later informed me this was not possible because the contract was closed.

This experience was extremely disappointing, and I will not use your service again.

Told would get refund for unsuitable upgrade

It is about Alamo at Alicanti airport. On arrival at Alamo I was informed that the vehicle I had booked through stress free car hire had a flat tyre and that they had nothing similar to estate car I had booked, a Peugeot 508 SW.
the largest vehicle they had available was a v60 Volvo saloon car. They said this was available for an extra € 42 euros a day. I was not happy with this and told them they should not be charging me for a vehicle that would not suit my needs as I was with 3 other people and we had golf clubs. Have rented 508 SW previously and suited my needs. I asked to speak to the manager but they were not available. I was asked to speak the to the manager on my return as the girl dealing with me was not authorised to waver the upgrade fee she also said she would be at the office that day. I was unable to get all our luggage into this car and had to leave golf travel bags at the office.
On my return to the rental I asked to speak to the lady that dealt with me but was told it was her day off. I spoke to the Manager and told him what had happened. He did seem very helpful and would definitely reimburse the amount for the upgrade.
It is now end of December and I have Contacted Alamo customer services 4 times over the past 2 months. The last being mid December. Each time I contact them I have to explain everything to them as they do not seem to record messages or take notes about previous calls.
Each call handler has said they will escalate the complaint and so far have said they have sent emails to branch manager, area manager, regional manager. All have said I should should receive a reply within 4-5 working days
I have not received any emails for anyone at Alamo, which says a lot about their customer service
Nor as you can take it have not received a refund for unsuitable upgrade

Unjustified Car Rental Cancellation and Refusal to Refund: My Experience with Alamo and DoYouSpain

On November 16, 2024, I booked a car rental through DoYouSpain (Booking Reference: DYS-157531948). When I arrived at Alamo’s desk to collect the car, my valid Revolut credit card was unjustly refused by Alamo, despite meeting all requirements. Alamo canceled my reservation, stating the reason as “SOLO TIENE REVOLUT” (visible in their system), claiming they do not accept Revolut cards even if they were credit cards. I asked them for a written proof of the reason of cancellation, but they told me that they don't provide that, and instead they allowed me to take a picture of their system's screen in which they entered the reason for cancelling my reservation as "He only has Revolut".

I reached out to DoYouSpain who communicated with Alamo, providing clear evidence that my card was a credit card, not prepaid or debit. However, they falsely told DoYouSpain that I presented a prepaid card to their agent, which is NOT TRUE because that's not the reason they entered in their system which I have a picture of. I only use Revolut CREDIT CARD in all my transactions (including this one) and I'm filing a suite at the court (Juicio Verbal) which I'm sure I will win due to all the evidence that I have, but I want to share awareness with other people to be careful of these practices by Alamo.

ZERO STARS

ZERO STARS! AVOID AVOID AVOID!

20km onto our drive the engine warning lights came on and the vehicle went in to limp-mode on a very busy motorway heading out of Marseille airport.
We had to arrange our own breakdown as Alamo refused to do it. It took two hours to turn up after many phone calls back and forth with Alamo.
The breakdown service wouldn't take the vehicle as it was "drivable" in limp-mode. This is the agreement they have with Alamo.
So, back onto a very busy 130kmp motorway at 18kmp which is all the vehicle would do.
Managed to get off at the next junction without getting killed. More phone calls to Alamo to get a replacement vehicle, with always a promise they would ring back but they never did. Limped 35km to the hotel trying to use back roads to avoid accidents. Eventually at the hotel another phone call and again a promise of a return call from management. Guess what? The office closed and no call was recieved.
This is the worst company of any kind I've ever dealt with EVER.
LET'S SEE WHAT TOMORROW BRINGS!
Oh, and I had a 95year old in the car with me

UPDATE - No return phone call in the morning and when I rang them again "surprise" they have no record of my phone calls.
I took matters into my own hands and drove (in limp-mode) to the nearest Alamo office. I was then told that there are no cars available and would have to drive back to where I picked it up from. This would have been impossible due to the engine being stuck in limp-mode. After having a very forceful conversation with the staff we were driven to what amounted to a back street garage with empty beer bottles, litter and an old mattress strewn all over the lot.
We were given a much lower spec vehicle which was badly damaged on every panel and bumper, filthy on the inside and out and not fully fuelled up.
No help was proffered to us to try and resolve what was Alamo's issue with a faulty, dangerous vehicle.
No effort was made by Alamo staff to get us a vehicle which worked.

THE WORST COMPANY I'VE EVERY DEALT WITH!

Bad support! Couldn’t get the car!

We booked a rental car with Alamo via Holiday Autos in Amsterdam airport. When we arrived yesterday in Amsterdam, we couldn’t get the car because I do not have a credit card! I have a Master Card "debt" but that didn't help. Alamo refused to deliver the car even though the full amount has been paid. I had to contact Holiday Autos but got no help. I had to rent another car with company next door and made a new payment. I asked for refund but Holiday Autos says the system doesn't allow it even though I didn't get the car.

The staff in the Reus office

The staff in the Reus office, in particular Omar, really went the extra mile. I’d booked an automatic car through VIP Cars and they arranged a deal with Alamo. Unfortunately, the fact I needed an automatic wasn’t communicated to Alamo & they supplied a manual vehicle. I’m disabled & not able to drive a manual. Omar could not have been more helpful- he searched for another car & took us to an office some distance away , where they had something suitable. It was an upgrade from the basic car I’d booked but the original rate was honoured. The mistake wasn’t Alamo’s, but they did everything they could to put things right. After so many bad experiences with car hire companies, it was fantastic to meet such helpful & lovely staff. It was a positive experience I’ll always remember.

I recently hired a car with Alamo/Enterprise at Marjorca airport, the service was outstanding and the two staff upgraded me at no extra cost to a Cupra Formetor which was great.

I have used all major car hire companies and the service a Majorca airport was top.

Thank you

Liars!! expect a law suite

Our flight delayed in 5 hours and when we arrived at Alamo counter we found out they gave away the car and don't have another car for us. they told us that in the terms and conditions it is written that they are saving the car only for 2 hours. We needed to rent a car from a different company, paid 500 Euro (332 Euro more) and later the next day I read the terms and conditions of Alamo and Wisecar and couldn't find this paragraph.
Expect a lew suite in a few days time.

Warning

Don't trust this company. We had booked a Car and payed booking fee. When we arrived in bezier the manager told us that they didn't had any car for us but she had asked hertz to help us. The differens between the price that alamo had given us and what we should give to hertz would be settle by alamo when we left back the car. At that point another representativ told us that he couldn't do that and asked us to contact The europeiska head officer. After 6 month this debt hasn't been settle.
