Aldi Barissimo Eggnog pre ground coffee

This review is on the Aldi Barissimo Eggnog pre ground coffee. This coffee was purchased for $4.99 for a 12 oz. bag or 42 cents/ounce. The description of this coffee is Eggnog flavored coffee and it is pretty much dead on. The coffee comes packaged in a traditional re-sealable mylar/foil bag with a standard de-gassing valve. The roaster claims 100% Arabica beans but that is all the information available. This coffee had an expiration date of one year in advance of the purchase date. The coffee seems to be roasted medium with a very light oily coating which I think is the added flavoring. While I know this is some sort of blend I wish the roaster would give a little more information about the coffee bean origin. The fragrance of this coffee is sweet and typical coffee and when brewing the aroma is of coffee and fresh eggnog with brandy. When cupping this coffee the aroma is of coffee and "real" eggnog. This coffee really shines with half and half or Italian sweet cream coffee creamer and tastes like it has real eggnog added. This coffee is smooth and well balanced not bitter and has very nice velvety mouth feel and a pleasant finish when creamers are used. This is a fine winter morning brew or as a desert coffee that I give 5 out of 5 stars.
This was really good tasting coffee. I used 60 grams of coffee with 1.2 liters of room temperature filtered water in an SCA certified automatic drip coffee maker. This coffee is a Christmas seasonal item at Aldi but it comes highly recommended when it is available and well worth the price.

Sadly not the same

Sadly, I used to love to shop at aldi since the time I lived in Germany, but lately they replaced certain staple items with cheaper ones (German roasted coffee, paper towels, toilet paper, etc) and to make everyone unhappy the “reorganized“ the store!

Trash!

Trash!! And their customer service is horrible. Don’t bother online shopping and expecting a refund when they lie and tell you the items are available, but wait until the order is complete to tell you they aren’t available smh avoid at all cost

Customer service for grocery store is none existence. I live in Peoria,AZ and the one near me only has one Cashier operating while people are 5-8 deep waiting in line. Many of times i have just left my cart and walked out. screw the 25ct you put in the cart. Just unacceptable to not hire more people to keep the shelves stocked and registers ringing.

Staff and management are totally…

Staff and management are totally disrespectful & insulting & belligerent. The district manager named tirsa allows this to happen & turning a blind eye to it. Tirsa has been rude herself on multiple occasions. Tirsa needs to be let go by the company b/c she's not rectifying the issues at all. In fact the stores have gone down hill substantially. They need to start fresh and aquire a new district manager. It's disgusting how they all act so unprofessional and unhappy working there.

Weird behavior at the Georgetown, TX

My wife and I went to the Aldi in Georgetown to buy frozen turkeys to donate. We placed five in our cart, but at checkout, the cashier told us we couldn’t buy more than two. There was no sign, notice, or warning about this limit at the freezer, and the staff themselves seemed unsure — the cashier even had to ask over the radio.

What’s confusing is that when I checked online, I was able to add multiple turkeys (5, 10, even 20) to my cart without any restriction. Because of this unclear policy, we decided to leave the items. Unfortunately, this meant we couldn’t make the donation we intended to. It was a disappointing experience that could have been easily avoided with better communication.

What is it with Aldi's in Wareham…

What is it with Aldi's in Wareham Massachusetts?!
This is the second time I complained about the moldy produce. The first time they said they would contact the store and resolve the issues. Now, it's gotten worse. I opened 5-6 raspberries that were full of mold. I left them open on the shelf so people would see how bad the produce is. Cucumbers, moldy, raspberries, blueberries. Mold. I complained to an employee and he defended them by saying he just put them out. After I did my shopping, I went back and they were still all open and the box still there. While I was there a woman complained that the potatoes were moldy. What is going on there? It seems the employees really don't care. I have to rethink Aldi's as a shopping place.

Complete lack of Service

17/10/25 1915 hours I went to Aldi,Stanley Matthews way,Stoke on Trent. I selected goods value approx £20- Went to pay at the self service till but it locked up on bananas, the red assistance came on but there were no Staff to be seen, either on the adjacent till or anywhere else. There was not even a Security Guard. I left the goods on the till and walked out.As per usual it is almost impossible to complain on Aldis Customer Services page, obviously deliberately so. It is Tesco's for me now!

Samara at 1256 Executive Blvd Chesapeake VA doesn’t like people with red hats. I was in this morning and she was very disrespectful because I was wearing a red hat with my business name on it. She needs to be fired but Aldi won’t talk to me. Tell her Hi when you visit the store. Young african american with a huge attitude. I will never go back to that store and maybe never return to Aldi.

Chopped Salad Kit with few veggies but high sugar

Very disappointed with purchase of Little Salad Bar Sunflower Chopped Salad Kit but didn't want to leave a public 1 or 2star review as I am generally very satisfied with your products and pricing. Problem that I hoped you would correct with my well-intentioned feedback: The salad had so few veggies that I had to add nearly a whole head of Romain lettuce to get 4 small servings. Not only that, but the second ingredient was the sweet onion dressing and its' first ingredient was sugar. Veggies are cheap and the healthiest part, sugar is not. So, I went to the effort to provide feedback on your HQ website in Illinois. I filled in all the numerous codes and dates. Completed all the answers even past the point that the system would not accept the Product Used Date of today which I selected from your calendar. Got error of “Please select the correct date”. I then tried to go to the next page and the system deleted all my entered info. Not happy and you have another problem that needs fixing. Hence, I am sharing a now one-star review with the public.

Don't buy Aldi's "prewashed" spinach

I recently purchased a bag of your washed and ready-to-eat spinach (3-cup bag). When I opened it and placed the contents into my sauté pan, I discovered several dead flying insects mixed in with the spinach. This was very unpleasant and quite disappointing, as I purchased the product expecting it to be clean and ready to eat.

Aldi

Aldi – Glendale, AZ Location
Years of Loyalty: Ongoing, consistent shopper for several years

The Good:
I’ve been shopping at the Glendale Aldi for years because it’s exactly what I need: no fuss, no frills, just solid prices and a streamlined experience. I love that I can get in, grab what I need, and get out without breaking the bank. Aldi has consistently offered quality products that rival name brands, and for that, I’ve been a loyal customer.

The Concerns:
But lately, things have shifted and not in a good way.
🥴 Boulder Sandwich Bags: Just don’t. They’re a daily frustration. They tear when opening, refuse to seal, and turn lunch prep into a battle. I’ve already submitted a formal complaint, and I hope Aldi takes it seriously. These bags are not just inconvenient they’re wasteful and unusable.
🍓 Produce Quality: As a pescatarian household, fresh fruits and veggies are a staple. But over the past few months, I’ve noticed a sharp decline in quality. Mold within four days or hidden in middle of package when opened at home, or a sour smell within a week, is unacceptable especially when that’s the bulk of our grocery haul.
🛒 Store Layout Changes: Why the constant rearranging? The layout used to be intuitive, but now I find myself walking every aisle just to locate items that used to be grouped together. It disrupts the flow and adds unnecessary time to a trip that used to be efficient.

Final Thoughts:
I still love Aldi. I still shop here. But I’m watching closely. These changes especially the drop in produce quality and the packaging failures chip away at the trust I’ve built over years of loyalty. I’m not asking for perfection, but I am asking for consistency, functionality, and respect for the shopper’s time and needs.
Fix the bags. Reassess the produce sourcing. And please, stop playing musical chairs with the store layout. I want to keep loving this store but it has to love its customers back.

Sign of the times

Like most prices and friendly helpful people.
Dislike eliminating food spaces for booze and household items. Eggs, crackers regularly come in containers that are crushed, torn and crushed. Rotten fruit becoming more common.

I had the best experience shopping at…

I had the best experience shopping at the Dorchester Road Aldi in Summerville. One particular employee stood out to me. Maggie. She was really busy stocking the meat section of the store. She stopped was she was doing to go out of her way and help me find what I was looking for. She was very nice, professional and helpful. I asked another employee she couldn't be bothered to help me. We need more Maggie's working for us.

Aldi doesn’t support their customers

Aldi doesn’t support their customers.

I used to be an avid Aldi shopper. Then our local Aldi decided to completely rearrange its store. Shortly after, my husband and I visited our local Aldi and it took us half an hour to find six items. Everyone in the store was complaining about it, even the Instacart shoppers there.
When I returned home from that frustrating trip, I sent an email to Aldi headquarters sharing my concern. At the very least, they could’ve provided an online description of the changes they had made or they could’ve posted in the store a map of the new aisles and what was in them. The response that I got was insulting. The person who responded said that they truly value their customers, but if I was having a problem finding something, I could simply ask the staff for help.
Clearly, the person responding to my email had never been in my local Aldi store. There is almost no staff there. They have mostly self-checkout registers with, at best, one register with staff checking out customers. So, if I needed help, I would have to go to a self-checkout register and hit the help button each time I needed to find something. Then I could stand there and wait for someone to magically appear to help me. I cannot possibly imagine how long that would take me to do my shopping. As a result, I no longer shop at that store. Now, when I need to buy groceries, I scan the mobile apps of three other grocery stores in my area, look for the lowest prices, and place an order. I’ve actually saved quite a bit of money doing that. So, I’m finished with Aldi until they learn to actually treat their “valued”customers like they really want them to shop at their store.

Aldi in Loxahatchee Florida

Aldi in Loxahatchee Florida - Extremely disappointed!! I had great hopes for this Aldi but their management must be asleep under the table. There are 4 checkout counters but don't believe it. They never have more than one line open. Every time I have been in there, the checkout person is a total idiot. There will be 3 carts loaded to overflowing but yet only one line open. The checker just ignores everyone waiting and waiting and waiting... It would be so simple for the dingbat checker to call another cashier but NOOOOOOOOOOOO............... Hey manager! Wake up! I would rather go to Publix across the street than wait 20 minutes for the single and only cashier in the store to slowly check out the people ahead of me. I am not wasting my afternoon or evening waiting for the single line to clear. I gave up on my last visit to the store. After 10 minutes, I dropped the box of everything I had picked out to buy on the neighboring check out lane that was closed and left the store to never return. It just isn't worth the time to wait and wait and wait.......................

I used to LOVE shopping at my local Aldi store. Everything neat and orderly. Everything in an easy-to-follow layout. NO MORE! Now it's a mish-mash of nothing where it should be. (Cat food by the toilet paper?) While I don't hate going (I just got back from my most recent shopping there), I have definitely lost the joy that I used to have. Years ago, when I was an insurance agent our manager taught us: "The confused mind always says NO." Well now with the entire store in a confused mess, my mind may say: "No. Just go back to Wal-Mart." At least Wal-Mart had a logical layout.

Aldi is lacking direction

Aldi is lacking direction. A low grade hardware store takes up three isles in the middle of the store. No diabetic products. Plenty of high sugar products. To much bread and snacks. Only two different types of Campbell's soup. Alot of honey, why? Terrible corporate model for the U.S. market. Did you ever shop at a store and then leave to shop somewhere else for products that the first stop doesn't have? Welcome to Aldi.
