Sharp Practice - SCAM
Unknowingly signed up to receive these text alerts, which I didn't want and deleted them without reading. They charged the whole of my buffer last month for receiving them!
Received further text messages today and opened one to find I was being charged £1.50 per message. Furthermore the message stated that to block them I needed to text a number which was a premium rate one.
They are now block on my phone and reported as a Scam.
I have contacted Which consumer organisation about my experience.
Cancellation of subscription made on ertor
I made a scrutinised in error and I am not able to cancel it why I do not know not know
Unknowingly signed up to this scam whilst scanning Train Station parking barcode
I scanned a barcode at my local railway station car park to pay for parking (didn't realise they had changed from coin machines to app) quite stressful as wasn't expecting this extra time. I then received 3 alerts each costing £1.50 - I had unknowingly signed up for Alerts4u. In the end I had to phone the parking co to pay for parking and only just made my train. Currently trying to find way to cancel these alerts. The phone no given still wants my mobile no which I am scared to give incase it costs more money :(
I scanned a barcode on my TV to…
I scanned a barcode on my TV to subscribe to Channel 5. Suddenly I got 3 text messages and was charged £4.50, which was taken from my mobile phone account. Surely Channel 5 must know about this and are doing nothing about it. I am trying to complain to Action Fraud but they require a company registration number. Does anyone know this?
I thought
I thought, as the poster advertised that I was getting the Lidl app in store. I have now received a message saying I signed up for Alerts 4 U! Very anoyed with Lidl allowing this scam!
Fraudulent activities
I thought I was signing up for ITV+ and said join only to find out that I had signed up to some fraudulent company hiding under another request. Absolute theft I have never been so shocked and angry and ITV should be ashamed that they can let somebody else piggyback off their request to join ITV+
Beware of unwittingly signing up to this company
I was unwittingly signed up to this company when using a QR scanner app. Like others immediately charged £4.50 for 3 texts. Managed to unsubscribe and they say they will send me a voucher to repay amount but not convinced they will. I then contacted my mobile provider who have kindly refunded the charges and have blocked future premium rate texts. This company is clearly working on the fringes of what might be legal and should be avoided at all costs. I have sent in a complaint to the PSA and await their response
Beware of this
Was looking for an item price on a supermarket site, ( the site did request my mobile number which I gave) next thing I know I had apparently registered unknowingly to Alerts4U. They almost immediately txt me 3 times with random alerts of items that I have no interest in costing me £1.50 a time. I straight away txt STOP to the number, another £1.50 charge. A week later another 3 txts sent, another charge of £1.50 per item, request to STOP ignored. Have had to block their numbers twice hoping to stop them.
Not a genuine approach.
Same as most on this review site. Never entered any competion (very aware what such carrots can lead to). Making money by an unscrupulous method is what this is. Something alerts me to providers (mines Sky Mobile) being complicet in this fiasco.
Alerts4U Messages on your phone
Hi - I've had an experience with Alerts4U that kept cropping up in my Messages which, like many of you, just delete as you thought they were scams which is exactly what I was doing until I got my bill from my Provider which was way over the top of what I normally pay as I'm on a fixed contract. Like many of you I was very afraid on tapping on the 88222 STOP thinking it was scam. Then the last FreeMsg: Reminder: U are a member of Alerts4U.co.uk for £1.50 per alert ( max £4,50 per week) until you send STOP to 88222.Help? 02081253903. All very dodgy and scary. So I went to my computer and looked up Alerts4U (who I had never heard of) which informed me on 'Which' How to stop unwanted premium rate texts. I had absolutely no idea I had signed up for premium text's and there in lies the problem. We are not told by our Providers we have signed up and there's no relevant detail to say who these people are who are sending them. Anyway, I did ring that number and got on to a lady and told her exactly when all these messages came in.It seemed like the beginning of December every day at the same time and I was being charged!! She said I would receive a Bar Code to my Messages in a weeks time giving me a refund ! I got my message this morning and went to the Post Office, showed them my Bar Code ( a load of numbers) and I was given my refund! So friends - it's well worth pursuing as we got a result in the end. I also wrote to the PSA (Phone Paid Service- UK) Regulator or call their helpline on 0300 30 300 20. Also ask you Provider to bar all premium rate calls or text from being made on your phone.

Customer support
I have just spoken with a customer support agent at Alerts4u.co.uk (number below) and he explains that 3 had offered a prize of £500 so I had unknowingly signed up for text alerts. I have unsubscribed and the agent was very helpful, my mobile has been blocked from any further alerts.

This is theft
This is just fraud that is not being stopped they hijack your phone and then take your phone credit unless you pay them money, that is theft and should be treated as such.
I didn't want to give them 1 star SCAM
I didn't want to give them 1 star, I recently discovered thasince the very beginning of May 2021 this company have been taking (through my mobile account money.
I only noticed when looking where I could cut down on my bills and discovered that little by little they had been at first taking £1-50 and then suddenly shotting up to £4-50 I have never signed up for this service i fact I had never heard of them. so far they have claimed £164-50. Virgin were of no help at all. except put a stop on premium texts but I have started getting texts from them again?? I have reported all this to the Fraud department but havent heard anything back from them. Has anyone managed to get a refund????
Alerts for you scam
Alerts for you
I suddenly started to see £1.50 texts appear on my bill last month, Iv tried to send Stop as it says, obviously this doesn’t work, the phone number they gave does not get answered, I have never signed up for this service, it’s a complete scam, why is it allowed to carry on ? Iv reported to Fraud Action, as reading previous reports other people have too. My network provider doesn’t seem to be able to block them. Iv tried on my phone but they still get through. Has anyone any idea what can be done ?

Zero rating
Zero rating. They keep texting me saying I have signed up to receive texts at a cost of £1.50 each. I have not signed up! I am trying to block them but I can't find the number they are sending from. I am also trying to stop them accessing my mobile phone provider to charge me. They work out of a PO box. Very dodgy. Dangerous. Avoid and report.
