Have you ever had such a mind-blowing customer experience with a company that you couldn't help but tell everyone about it?
It really saddens me how rare that it is these days. But when outstanding customer care happens, it's pure magic.
I had one of those "Oh, YEEES!" moments with my award-winning website host ALFAHOSTING (no affiliate) recently. I was so inspired by the seemingly small yet powerful things they did — REAL customer service with quick, helpful and personal answers from REAL people — I have to tell you about it.

Refuses relay SMTP to configure RFC 5321 compliant…
Alfahosting configures their relay SMTP servers, among them relay02.alfahosting-server.de [109.237.142.238], relay03.alfahosting-server.de [109.237.142.239], relay04.alfahosting-server.de [109.237.142.240], relay05.alfahosting-server.de [109.237.142.241], relay06.alfahosting-server.de [109.237.142.242], relay08.alfahosting-server.de [109.237.142.245] and relay09.alfahosting-server.de [109.237.142.247], not with RFC 5321 compliant settings.
That happens even at the authoritative institutes like Dutch domain registry. However that organization corrects such issues within one week.
Alfahosting on the other hand refuses to configure its relay servers conform RFC 5321. To be precise section 4.5.3.2.1 "Initial 220 Message" minimum command timeout is configured with 37 seconds. Instead to RFC this value SHOULD be 5 minutes. One star for that Alfahosting customer service replies, the 2nd star for supplying a reason: otherways our mail queues become too full. In my opinion it is a bad habit to not try to stay RFC compliant.
Their Service and Support is AWESOME!
There is no other company like Alfahosting.
While I tried AWS, GoDaddy, Kinsta and others in the past, there is simply no competitor for Alfahosting.
Their Service and Support are simply AWESOME!

I got online tonight to try and find a web hosting service that supported my applications as a developer. I was dreading this because I could of sworn it would take all night to find the right company. However, to my delight I found several stackoverflow answers and whoshostingthis.com both recommended alfahosting.de I got on and found your site so easy to navigate and found everything I needed. Thomas was quick to get me taken care of and instead of redirecting me, created a custom link that got me set up in seconds. I couldn't be happier with my service. 10/10 Thomas. and 10/10 alfahosting.de

Not at all impressed! Bad choice for small businesses....
I spent a lot of time researching and decided to go for Alfahosting.de as the reviews were mostly good and the Business L plan had what I needed at the right price.
But.. no longer than 2 days with them and I felt the need to cancel immediately... File uploads via FTP would constantly dropout and the reliability was very poor. I tried with my other host to check and had no problems. I rang telephone Support and they had no suggestions and were not very sympathetic at all. Sort of an: 'It is how it is attitude!' On my first day with them I expected a lot more... On the plus side the telephone service is there and they answer fairly quickly.
They did not seem at all worried that they may loose a customer.
What is worse is that they state that you can try for free with no hidden fees, etc, etc but in a plan like the one I chose, 3 domains are included. I must now pay for these domains with Alfahosting.de (costing more than most other hosts). This is certainly not made obvious and I could not find it anywhere in the small print. Most hosts offer a refund / cancellation on domains if you do so within a 48 hour period and or have a good reason... I was trying to cancel within a 48 hour period with good reason.
Again they were not at all concerned and took no responsibility for the fact that I wanted out because there service was already causing me big problems!
Furthermore, the user interface 'Confixx' is clumsy and ugly at best...
All in all I wasted a lot of time with these guys as they fooled me!
NOT recommended for anyone serious about reliability!
***I LIVE IN BERLIN GERMANY!!!! NOT in AUSTRALIA!!! I told them this but they are using Australia as an excuse... about what I would expect!
