People frequently encountered frustrating claim processes, facing unexpected denials, delayed payments, and repeated demands to resubmit identical documents. Consumers also described unhelpful support representatives who offered little guidance when travel cancellations happened or when assistance was desperately needed. Utterly useless took over from tesco…

Utterly useless took over from tesco insurance.
I fell and sprained my ankle badly x-rayed twice at A +E they thought it was broken , badly bruised the other ankle 10mls of morphine, crutches an air boot given ,I was wheelchaired out to my daughters car as I couldn't stand.
Letter from hospital. It was Sunday . I was told I wouldn't be paid as my doctor couldn't write on a form that he advised me not to go,even though I got in touch with my gp surgery asap, my gp was on holiday for 2 weeks The consultant at A+E, said if I went there was a small increased risk of a DVT happening, both my mother and sister both had embolism .I live in Devon would of had to get the train to London, not being able to stand, pull my luggage etc ,then the rest is obvious. Was going to marrakesh for a few days .Never again wish I'd seen the reviews but I wasn't told at the time that tesco were transferring to Allianz!
Sincerely I do not recommend!!

Worst Insurance company claim insurance…

Worst Insurance company claim insurance Ive ever had, Indian call centre so line was bad and English poor. Call’s kept being put around the office in circles, they Finaly payed out but only 1/2 the agreed amount. A month later and dozens of attempted calls they paid the second 1/2 with no comment…dodgy. They also use pre programmed background noise to frustrate you to make you give up (I recorded these and played them back…exactly the same coffing and people chatting each time). NEVER USE ALLIANZ

Absolutely awful.

Absolutely awful.
They refuse to pay a penny due to our flight being cancelled! I will NEVER use this insurance again!
In this case it would be considered as a minor incident…. I shudder at the thought in the event of an emergency medical situation!

I received a very positive experience…

I received a very positive experience compared to the reviewers below. After booking a trip to Spain and undergoing a sudden medical emergency, I was forced to cancel my trip and nearly lost £800. I provided all the necessary documentation to Allianz, and in just over a week after submitting the claim, they reimbursed me with a full payout (minus the small excess).

People are quick to post bad experiences and the good ones are often missed which is why I'm posting mine! Thanks Allianz!

Utterly useless

Utterly useless. They rejected my Ticketmaster claim for concert tickets and then never ever answer the phone. I don't think decent large companies should use this poor insurance company which just seems like a scam to get your money and not honour the insurance. Rubbish!!! Shame on you!

Very poor company

Very poor company, I was recently visiting the Dominican Republic for a 21 night vacation, first few nights I was sick with a fever long story short my medical bill was $240 Allianz had taken literally half of it for the excess, the only good thing I can say is that they paid the claim out in 14 days, but yeah there are a lot better companies to do your travel insurance through ones that don’t take half your money in excess.

Run, don’t walk, far far away from this company

I have traveled a lot in my life and used various travel insurance companies’ services, but NEVER has any other company refused to reimburse very basic medical costs. On their website, there is no option to even make a claim for medical expenses even though they were obviously included in my plan. I called their customer service to ask about it, and the woman on the phone hung up on me. Once I finally managed to send in my claim, they refused to reimburse the medical costs. So yeah, do yourself a favor and get an insurance from a company that actually does what they’re supposed to do.

Shocking.

Shocking.. Do not use. Had a SNCF train booked but just happened to check at around 6am the morning our train was booked leaving Caen to Rouen and the email stated our intended departure from the Rouen return was cancelled due to metereriological issues at the station. We knew that there had been storms the previous afternoon in the area so didn't want to risk going and not been able to return.. Informed this insurer and after well over a week received a reply stating that this insurance didn't meet the requirements for reimbursement. I had provided the necessary proof. I since requested a reason for this refusel but nothing heard to date. No doubt another excuse from this negative review provider...

The source of the fraud is Allianz.

The source of the fraud is Allianz.
After a year and ten months of stress, the fraudsters ask for one thing, and when you prove it, they come up with another loophole until you pay the highest percentage of the monthly subscription. Then they tell you that the police report doesn't match the company's policy. So, I advise you to end your subscription with this fraudulent company. You won't regret it.

The worst insurance I've ever seen

The worst insurance I've ever seen. Despite the theft of my suitcase abroad and everything I had been stolen, as well as my medicines, they refused to pay me an emergency return ticket because I had no more medicines to take abroad and my trip was delayed by 5 hours, they said it was not their problem and they asked me to go claim from the transport company. I Will never use them again and they deserve -5 as rate review.

The worst travel insurance experience…

The worst travel insurance experience ever. I had a medical emergency in a forging country that required intervention. The relationship with the insurance company was horrendous and they do everything possible to delay paying my claim
They are asking one clarification question at a time form my GP and I end up having to pay the GP a small fortune in order to answer questions from Allianz.

Incomparable incompetence.

Incomparable incompetence.
Where do I begin? I had to pay $25,000 for a broken leg requiring surgery and months later I’m still waiting for the refund.
Time and time again they said ‘we have all the necessary information’ and time and time again more was asked for right up until 5 months after the process had started.
I’m guessing they have a policy to delay as long as possible so they keep their cash earning interest and also hoping the client will give up! I had to liase with the hospital and do their job for them as they kept saying ‘we can’t get through to the hospital’ yet I would phone and get through straight away.
My local broker has stopped recommending people to Allianz as they had so many complaints about long drawn out sagas.
Appalling and shameful behaviour to clients who have paid for a service and clearly are going through a very stressful event.
Shame on them

Allianz is a Fraud!

I filed a claim after American Airlines cancelled my flight due to mechanical problems with the tires. Therefore, I missed my connection and had to rent a car to get home. Allianz requested more information. American Airlines took weeks to respond and Allianz closed my claim. Once the documents were received and submitted to Allianz, my claim was reopened, but only to be denied because it doesn’t cover “maintenance”! I called and said it wasn’t maintenance, it was maintenance issues-the tire was broken! They said I had to write a letter to appeals with more documents. What, now I have to get AA to write another letter for a couple hundred bucks? Allianz has no intention of paying out the claim and never did. They do NOT support their customers. PLEASE-DO NOT PURCHASE!

Was fine actually

Got travel insurance through Tesco, didn't realise it was with Allianz and hadn't seen these reviews.

Imagine my dismay when I did after we were unable to go on holiday due to illness.

However, although they ask for a lot of paperwork, the claim was processed in reasonable time and customer service were easy to reach. Had to prompt them once via email but recieved a call pretty much immediately after it was sent resolving things.

Thought worth posting this to let people know reading these reviews that there are some satisfactory resolutions, and these people maybe don't bother leaving reviews!

Good luck.

£10 insurance !

I was unwell on my last trip and had to consider what to do. Get the next train home or call an ambulance. I considered the possibilities of ending up with very expensive doctor and hospital bills against a company that may not pay claims. To date they have a 92% BAD rating. was able to make that choice as I was still able to walk. Back in he UK I called the paramedics who called and ambulance and after 13 hours in A&E and 13 tests later I got out. How much would that have cost in France? If you want medical component this company is not for you. £10 cover for 2 weeks (sold with a Eurostar trip) is too good to be true. Check Trustpilot first, then find a company that doesn't have a 100 page plus contract with a 100 reasons not to pay. I made the right choice of paying an extra £136 fee on my ticket or 1000s of euros in bills.

Allianz should be banned from offering…

Allianz should be banned from offering travel insurance in my opinion.
I was told the insurance only covers taxi fares if after 9 pm!!!! REALLY!!!?
I only claimed for 5 euros each for lunch due to 3 hour delay got nothing! they send you to a foreign desk center then 3 months later the desk says oh we dont do other country... then finally get 20 euros from this foreign desk after kramer vs kramer battle! 100 days of being gaslighted humiliated on proofs that were proven etc.. my advice ANY insurer will be better! or keep you money and take a chance IMO. SCAMDOGS!!!

Horrendous Unprofessional Company

Horrendous company with unprofessional, unhelpful staff. Had mole removed so awaiting histology - phoned to let them know only to be told ALL medical cover has been removed for myself - not my baggage nor husbands insurance. Purchased as part of a package holiday unfortunately they have obviously changed to this incompetent company rather than Ariva who use to be fantastic. Unsure how they can use them when you have to have insurance to book holiday?
