⭐ 1‑Star Review: Amazon Has Become a Maze of Broken Systems and Uncancellable Orders

I ordered two simple items on Amazon—nothing exotic, nothing special—and both have shown “Unavailable” for months. Not delayed. Not back‑ordered. Just stuck in a dead zone where Amazon refuses to ship them and refuses to let me cancel them.

And here’s the real problem: Amazon has turned its website into a rabbit hole of endless menus, loops, and dead ends designed to prevent you from canceling or returning anything. Every path leads to another maze, another non‑answer, another screen that pretends to offer help but ultimately traps you in place. What used to take seconds now feels deliberately impossible.

This was never an issue in the past. Amazon used to be functional, straightforward, and customer‑focused. Now it feels like routine business practice for a company that’s slipping—bury the customer in UI tricks, hide the cancel button, and hope people give up.

If this is the “new Amazon,” it’s a company in decline. One star is generous.

Order late…

I placed an order this morning for two items through Amazon Prime. It stated they would be delivered today between 2pm and 6pm. I checked the status when it was not delivered by 6:15pm and the site delivery had been delayed and delivery updated to 10:00pm today. A few minutes later it has now been updated to 10pm tomorrow! The site claimed the items were housed local so I did not think there would be a problem. If a company like Amazon cannot fulfill their promises for paying subscription clients to prime then they should not advertise quick delivery. If it continues I will cancel Prime and go with Walmart who I have had no problems with.

Terrible delivery service, days late and last order the driver actually drove up my front lawn to the porch!! I canceled prime even though I paid extra for no commercials they still promote a movie prior to playing the one chosen, that's still a commercial!! Plus I cannot support the millions going to the American first crime family. I'll never deal with amazon again

This service has gone from bad to…

This service has gone from bad to worst. First of all the my orders never come overnight or with the two day shipping. They’re always delayed. I pay for prime for fast delivery and it’s never fast or reliable. Secondly the video service sucks it’s always buffering and stopping. I have no issue with any other streaming service so I know it’s not my internet.

POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!

Amazon Prime is a waste of time. Their customer service agents are clueless and lie. Their customer service seems to be based out of the country. Their leadership team is rude. I canceled prime. I don't spend my money where customers are treated like garbage.
Pratibha in customer service could careless about issues and her manager Mohit was HORRIBLE as well. He shouldn't have a leadership job at all!! He isn't helpful, lacks empathy and knowledge. Amazon has gotten worse. Seems they're there just for a check. Not for the customers

The cost of Prime membership is higher…

The cost of Prime membership is higher every year (it was $50, now it is $135) while the 2-day delivery for Prime is rarely honored and the time spent is more than any time saved by using Amazon instead of going to a retail store. Amazon has gotten so sloppy that many deliveries never show or show more than a week late, and contacting Amazon is now a hassle that rarely resolves issues. Credit card disputes are now the usual answer.

Also, more than half of the tracking statuses are bogus and incorrect as to be completely unreliable. Amazon is also frustrating since inquiries to them usually results in a response of, “Please wait 3 more days, again”, or, “We’ll ship another to you, but you must then return the first item if it arrives or we will charge you.” This is more time wasted with Amazon to return the item. It would have been quicker and less hassle to just go get the item from a store. It is now often the same price, too!

Amazon purchases also charge for shipping more often now as sellers no longer want the sloppy and costly Amazon fulfillment centers to screw up the orders. Sellers charge shipping since Amazon seems not to cover shipping from sellers for Prime members. Meaning, Prime is less valuable as shipping charges occur more often.

For a while, people tended to go to a retailer and find the product they wanted and then went to Amazon to get a better price. Well, now people go to Amazon to find the product they want, then they go online and search for better prices and companies, including retail stores.

Fact is, Amazon is becoming an expensive hassle.

What is the benefit for the high price?

They advertise same day or 1-2 day shipping, but it can be longer than that. They are not true to their word. Also, for the price, you might as well go with regular shipping as it arrive same or a little less than the prime. Lastly, if you are buying it for the video, most of the time when I want to watch something, it says I need to have an additional subscription!!!! $$$$ not worth the money!

you cant write honest reviews

anytime you include anything they don't like they will decline your review and you will be blocked from writing a review on that item .i purchased a 2000 dollar plus gym setup and i took extensive pictures to post to help others, amazon d bags didn't like that i wrote about how bad one package was delivered and i stated that as a customer you need to call fedex and talk to the about how and where to deliver the 9 -100lb plus boxes, otherwise the delivery drivers will put them anywhere they want , my garage was in the ally way behind my house the gym was going in there, and them putting those huge insanely heavy boxes on my front porch i wouldn't be able to get into my house and imposible to bring them around the back. , so all that said, customers have to talk to fedex on the phone and verify the drop off area. . no option to review, nothing, this is one of many weird anti customer bs amazon does, the deliveries are randomly dropped off down the road, even though the address is lit up , and several a reason the home, they dont give af, at my other address, i've seen them throwing things over my gate, leaving them on the gravel dirt road, some punk even stole the packages , in plane sight, he looked at the boxes as he walked up to the gate way far down my driveway, and walks right back in the truck and takes off, two brembo rotors, of all things, reported as "lost in transit " for amazon, they are in the customer service business and they average a 1,2 star rating, i think its being generous . all i can say for the dbags in charge of amazon Karma is a bXtch when you disregard complaints,, my membership is canceled, there's a bunch of other online and in person places to buy my stuff )

Amazon Prime is a money grubbing pig!

Amazon Prime is becoming a money grubbing pig and I am tired of it! Now every time I go on Amazon video they want me to pay per episode for a lot of the videos! I pay for Amazon prime, which is very expensive, and Amazon video is supposed to be one of the perks I get. Not anymore! I'm ready to cancel Amazon prime and just quit shopping there all together. I found places that sell the exact same item as Amazon at half the price or less. Greedy companies really tick me off! There's none more greedy than Amazon! And while I'm crabbing, what happened to the fast delivery? That was the whole reason we all got Amazon prime was so we can have fast delivery! I ordered a bag of dog food that was supposed to be here in 2 days and on day 10 they sent me a notice that said your item is more delayed than we expected, no chit Sherlock! I called in and the garbled English customer service rep told me I could not get my money back! I said well I have a text from you that says I can get my money back and I want my money back I need to get dog food! Amazon has gone to the hounds!

Amazon is great!

This has been the most reliable shopping service ever with prime. You order things and they order and ship within a short amount of days. This app will always be my go to.
