This place may look enticing from the outside but packed with deception.
They say the mithai is fresh daily. What everyday ???? Sure. And the staff, especially the big guy was very arrogant and I could feel he didn’t like the look of me. I bought £150 of mithai and he couldn’t even be bothered to say thank you or come again. Change your staff if you want to succeed. Or give it back to Chowdrys. They were honest and lovely. They would give samples willingly. This guy was tighter than a screw in a piece of wood. Never again.

I placed an order online which they could not fulfil. I contacted them the next day for a refund. Ive been waiting almost 2 weeks for a refund which they say was being processed and every time I call I am just told all they can do is pass on a message to the team!

I am extremely disappointed with my experience ordering from Ambala.
I placed an online order for my daughter’s birthday and paid extra for next-day delivery to ensure the food arrived on time for the party. Unfortunately, despite paying for this service, my order took over three days to arrive. As a result, my guests had nothing to eat at the party, and the occasion was completely disrupted. My money was wasted, and the stress caused was significant.
What made the situation worse was the response from customer service. When I contacted them to request a refund, the staff were unhelpful and rude. They refused to take responsibility and blamed the delay entirely on DPD. I also contacted DPD directly, but they were equally unhelpful and kept changing the delivery date, even though next-day delivery had been paid for. The order eventually arrived on the fourth day.
When the food finally arrived, it smelled very unpleasant and appeared to be spoiled, so I had no choice but to throw everything away. Ambala failed to offer any solution, refund, or apology.
Overall, this was a very stressful and disappointing experience. The lack of accountability, poor customer service, and unacceptable food quality have completely put me off ordering from Ambala again. Sadly, this experience ruined my daughter’s birthday celebration.

I ordered methai online for a Saturday 12:00 pm collection from the Walthamstow branch. Unfortunately, I did not receive the text message that the website states will be sent once the order is ready.
I arrived at around 12:30 pm and was informed that my order was still being prepared. The representative apologised and explained that he was working alone for a period as his colleague arrived late, and he had been busy with walk-in customers. While I appreciate the apology and understand that staff shortages can happen, it was disappointing that another customer was served before my pre-ordered collection was finalised.
As a result, I had to wait a further 15 minutes in the shop before my order was ready. I would also suggest improved hygiene awareness, as it was mentioned that a colleague was unwell while handling packaging.
Overall, the staff were polite and apologetic, but clearer communication about order readiness and better organisation for pre-orders would greatly improve the customer experience.
