So far so good, only a minor glitch with the app which was rectified in a timely manner. We're hoping that the savings are beneficial, but I do like the transparency with pricing, and the app is super informative

Have been a long time customer because the feeling of the app is only to help and save you some dollars where you can .
Make the most of it cause there’s no one else out there quite like Amber . They are the difference between been ripped off by other retailers or staying and saving with Amber .

New solar battery.
I have had solar panels for few years. Decided as planning retirement in few years now is time to put on solar battery.
Initially a little frustrating getting thing sorted but online support was found to be helpful. Also advised next steps re new smart meter.
Will be interesting to re assess after 12 months.

It was easy to sign up
It was easy to sign up, easy to understand process and after a connection delay the system began to deliver cost savings for us. Only been active for two days but it looks like we will not be having an electricity bill anymore. Gotta be happy with that. If you are not tech savvy then it could take some time to get your head around how the tech all works

Quick and easy contact with Amber as we make arrangements to transfer to our new home in a new region in a month's time AND still stay with Amber. Great that even though our new home does not have solar panels or a battery (shall install these later, we can still stay with Amber as have benefited from their great service delivery at our current location which does have solar panels and a battery.

AMBER ELECTRICITY is the best Electricity Retailer in Australia, hands down. It’s not even a competition. I truly believe they could be the best in the world.
I have been an AMBER Customer since mid-2025. I am INCREDIBLY IMPRESSED with them. Everything about this company is best in class:
•Their business model (wholesale pricing with zero retail margin which is what the big corporations put on top and absolutely rob hard working families)
•Lowest costs
•Outstanding customer service - friendly, fast and very personal
•Incomparable transfer time - I just helped a friend move from Origin Energy where she was being ripped off badly to Amber, and it took less than five working days
•A truly world-class App
•The only electricity retailer where the Customer has 100% control over their own energy
•Flexible and supportive billing options
Amber recently employed hundreds of new staff to keep up with the pace of their growth because so many Aussies are catching on. I have personally been really impressed that they are investing so much back into improving their business, and I am seeing lots of great updates to their App and really fast turnaround times with assistance and customer support - the complete opposite of those greedy big corporations like Origin Energy, Energy Australia, ALINTA etc (I have tried them all over the past 30 years. They are all the same, and they are all BAD - expensive, tricky, arrogant and greedy) who don’t reinvest in their business because they send all their profits to shareholders (they are publicly listed companies so making profits is their top priority). Those big firms treat customers like they are a nuisance - customers are a problem that needs to be “managed”. At Amber, I ask a question or need help, and I receive personal service within a couple of hours. I never wait on a two-hour long horrible pre-recorded phone message BOT, to talk with someone from another country who records the phone call, creates a “Case Number” and puts my question into a process black box that rarely fixes my problem - you know the drill right?! And they only care about you when you choose to leave them for another company. That is what corporate arrogance is. Origin Energy is one of the absolute worst offenders. Customer last, profits first.
If you are sick of being treated like you’re a problem then do what I did - sack the big corporation and sign up with Amber. Download the App, fill in the details and within a few days you will have far less stress in your life, far more money in your pocket and total control over the electricity that you are producing - this is like a side-hustle for me, and it’s great fun too, especially when the Feed in Tariff jumps to $50 or $100 per kWh which happened a few times in 2025!
These are some of the reasons AMBER ELECTRICITY is the best electricity retailer in Australia, imo:
•Employ top quality people
•Train them very well
•Very fast turnaround times
•Personal service where customers are actually helped rather than “managed”
•Amber is absolutely committed to reinvesting in the business and continuing to improve their App.
What they are doing is so futuristic and innovative that I truly believe Amber doesn’t have any competitors in Australia, and I don’t know of any other companies in the world that operate successfully by selling electricity directly to customers at wholesale prices. It is a super smart idea and the timing is perfect - capitalising on the new energy revolution, battery and solar tech innovation and App innovation.
I could argue that Amber is more of a Tech Company than an “Energy Company”, because it’s not fair to compare them to those old greedy and arrogant corporations that gave up on innovation many years ago to chase profit gouging instead.
Honestly, if you have Solar Panels and a Battery, you would be crazy to sign up with anyone else.
I get nothing for this review except pleasure from supporting a young smart emerging Australian company of the future. My biggest fear is that they become so successful that one of those terrible corporations buys them out to destroy the competition before Amber destroys them!
In the past year I have helped 7 other family and friends to transfer to AMBER, and they are all really happy and grateful I did this for them. I’m not one bit surprised. I am currently helping three other friends to transfer over now. I have shown them my app and my invoices (10 of the past 12 months have been credits plus two very small bills when I used air conditioning 24/7 for the entire month).

Solar battery system
We have only just come onboard with Amber, recommended by the supplier.
We are always kept up to date with the process and get a quick response to any question we have had.
Their FAQ support link is brilliant and easy to understand.
We are looking forward to having Smartlink up and running to get a return on our excess battery power

I was initially a raving fan of Amber and encouraged number of people to move over to Amber. The first six months we had Amber it was fantastic getting a lot of return on investment and our feed in tariff was always a positive. Then something happened I think we may have Brad out rnerybsupplier changed to energy Australia and now we have had to pay bills for the last year without any key findings on why. Went to customer service they responded in a way but not particularly encouraging, it turns out that the Amber app doesn’t contain all of the costs in the usage tab of the application so that’s misleading. Secondly, I’ve been calculating my fit and also my charges and it’s just a straight pass through from from energy Australia which is the plan we are on. no ups and downs in FIT or charges tariff. so I’m very unhappy about that as well. I’m also unhappy about the fact that they haven’t offered solar curtailment for the goodwe inverter customers even though it is the third most popular inverter in the country. The last email from the CEO indicated that everyone has this feature. Well Goodwe customers still don’t have it. There was the ability to sign up to a Beta program but it turns out that wasn’t in existence even though I was able to fill out the application form to join. the time taken to get this resolved is another frustration and I hope this review spurs Chris the CEO to make contact.

The FIT rates have been reduced…
The FIT rates have been reduced massively and cost of buying energy from grid is higher. The fixed daily fees all add up to nearly $3 a day which is much higher than other providers. It is just not worth it in Tweed area, there are much better options out there. Amber is too expensive!
