1. Never received my order (ordered December 7th)
2. No tracking provided when item "shipped"

Non responsive customer service (sent one response after I sent a complaint through Amazon demanding a refund) (I sent 4 emails, including one to management, Amazon sent an inquiry on my behalf and I also left two voicemails). Amazon, NOT American Book Warehouse, has since refunded me as I used Amazon Pay.
4. Company claims they are using AI for help being short staffed (I never got an AI response) and they claimed my item should have arrived on the 19th - but they also had no tracking and had reached out to the shipper... it has been over a week and I still have not heard back).
5. Proceed with caution from this company.

NO customer service. I’ve left at least 5 messages and 2 emails. No reply. The book arrived 2 weeks after ordering it and it is used and beat up. I did not order a used book!

These people are common thieves. Check their ebay page and comments on Facebook.

Ordered a book and a few days later received an email saying I was being refunded due to the book not being found in the warehouse. Within hours the book was relisted for 3X the original price. Fraudulent order cancelation for the purpose of raising the price is not the business practice of a reputable seller.

SCAM ALERT!!!
I placed an order for a book on 11/16/25 and the money was immediately debited from my card. It was promised to ship out within days. I received an email that the order status had been changed to "shipped" but they could not provide any credible tracking information. I have tried by phone and email to follow-up and receive no response. There are similar experiences to mine posted online. I only wish I had read them first.

I ordered something, and I got a confirmation email, but for weeks never got an update that it had shipped. I tried to email their customer service twice the following week and heard nothing. Then I tried to call and still heard nothing. I sent them one final email that I would need to dispute the charge with my card company if I did not hear from them, which ultimately I wound up doing. I have STILL not heard a word from the company for over a month.

I bought a book called million dollars worth of game and they never delivered it. I attempted to call them twice and they don’t respond. This company is a scam! They are no good! Do not purchase any books from them!

I ordered a book from them nearly a month ago, and I still have not received it. I have contacted them at least three times, and I have yet to hear from them.

Ordered a 50 year old school book for $70. Item never received. Emailed three times, called 3 times. They finally emailed over a month later saying that they refunded my order and the book was out of stock.....THEN.....I now see the same book re-listed on their website for over $200. Unethical.

I ordered a book almost 2 weeks and it’s been a nightmare, the first day when I ordered it they reached out to me and I thought ok it’s legit !a few days later I sent an email asking if they’ll send a tracking number when shipped,! No answer, after a week of at least 15 emails a response saying they’re having problems with their computers, and said they’ll expedite shipping for free and I’d have it in 2 days, “Nothing “ than another 10-15 emails and finally an apology saying they’ll issue a refund ! DO NOT TAKE A CHANCE YOU’LL BE SORRY !!!
I actually filed a dispute with PayPal after a few days because I smelled a RAT
Take my advice look elsewhere for a book 📕

I couldn’t find the book I wanted in stock anywhere! Then I found it at American Book Warehouse. It is in new condition and arrived in a very timely way! Next time I will look for my book at ABW first! Thank you for a great transaction~

I bought an expensive book from them, paid 335 for a book that was supposed to arrive within the week. After 2.5 weeks I contacted them multiple times. They got back to me after 4 days and told me that the sold me a book they didn’t have and refunded me.

Less than a week later they have to book back on the website for 704$

They sold me the book and when they found out they could get more money they stopped the transaction after I had paid and put it up for sale for almost twice the price.

I guess I’m grateful they refunded the money. But good luck getting 700$- you can get the book for the price I paid originally on EBay.

This business is dishonest.

The prices are more than reasonable and their customer service is excellent. I would highly recommend them as a go-to source for books.

UPDATE: After many months of emails and phone calls, I finally heard back from them and they refunded my money and offered to make it right by allowing me to select a book they would send me free of charge. It turns out they never even had possession of the book they sold to me. I haven't selected anything yet, but I appreciate the refund and the gesture.

I placed an order on September 2 for a very expensive book. They sent me an order confirmation and charged my credit card. They have never sent a shipping confirmation and don't return any of my emails or phone calls. It appears I've been scammed.

Placed an order 10 days ago, no emails, no contacts, nothing... they ve just disappeared.
Don t recommend!! Just don't buy.

I was just checking on my book…. Hallamore a true story which was published in December 2023….. and I noticed it is being sold through American book warehouse for $240…. I am in the process of contacting my attorney because I’m been dealing with Amazon…you can get my book in hardcover for $38 soft cover for 28 these people are scamming you and taking advantage of me I will get to the bottom of this!!!!

Price was great and delivery and communications were good and fast! Will definitely buy from here again!

Placed an order and there was a tiny hiccup. The Customer service team was on it immediately and helped with everything, even going above and beyond to make me happily. Definitely a company that puts the customer first, no questions ask! I'm a forever customer for how great they handled everything!

They provided a rare book in wonderful condition, and they offered the best price of this book, too! They were really nice and a “real human” on the other end of our email correspondence which I really appreciate more and more these days :) I would buy through them over other stores - especially big box retailers! Thank you

American Book Warehouse promptly corrected a partial shipment issue and made good on my first purchase. Customer Service is great, as well as their huge selection of books. I am extremely pleased with my shopping experience, and look forward to buying my next books from American Book Warehouse. Great job!
