I don't even want to give them a star

I don't even want to give them a star. They accepted my claim then rejected it. After wasting my time and giving excuses, time after time for them not communicating with me. The first person I dealt with was ok. Then I got a lady named Carmen in the claims department who I felt was being dishonest from my honest point of view. They claim to help you and say all these nice things to try get out of having to pay for your claim. And yet they are happy to take the money you give, for what they say they will do. It just felt like control and manipulation from a man that has suffered from it for a while now.

Fraud

one of the worst car insurance company in nz . Applied for claim and they took almost 3 months and deduct policy money even i don't have my car with me . what a joke

This company is a total fraud!!!!!

This company is a total fraud!!!!!
Claim made in 11/22
Till 20th of January 2023 issue not resolved after telling them more than 50 times I’m not at fault!!!
They still wanted a privacy waiver on me with my consent.
Finally had to go elsewhere!! Premiums were paid in full!!
AA is what I would advise to all those who read this!!!
I chose not to pursue with the claim and wanted to cancel it but claims consultant emailed and threatened that I can’t cancel the claim and if I don’t consent for a privacy waiver she would ruin my history and make it harder to get insurance for me!!!
no investigation was done to determine liability the focus was me and my driving history just to increase my premiums!! I can assure you if you choose AMI at the time you need them they will try to delay the matter as much as possible and will just blame there internal departments for not doing the work.
Please don’t choose AMI!!!

I have never before experienced so poor…

I have never before experienced so poor customer service in my entire life to date. I have had to spend months trying to deal with AMI on an insurance matter which was only resolved today. I advise others to go elsewhere and deal with professional insurance companies and not cowboys like AMI. Shameful performance AMI.

BEWARE: They are sneaky with claims

I started a claim for a car accident. I accidentally selected the wrong option on the towing form and called up the customer service to change it. However, instead she started interrogating me about my claim and asking questions when she was not the officer dealing with my claim. We were also on the way to get my car towed in the morning and she kept asking questions upon questions. She kept repeating herself too like she couldn't understand - it was very annoying. This was terrible customer service and uncalled for. It's also quite sneaky of them.

Vehicle accident claim

AMI is seriously thé BEST insurance company. The staff is excellent in everything to do with the whole claiming process, they are warm, friendly, and extremely helpful.
I contacted them 9 March, and the claim went the course till Dec '22.
I am very fortunate to be a customer with this amazing company, they do not try to make things difficult, only concern for them, THE CUSTOMER'S WELLBEING.
Thank you AMI, I will ALWAYS support you, no matter what.

I've been with AMI insurance for the…

I've been with AMI insurance for the past 23 year's, before I have find them very kind and helpful, during this feel years I found that the customer service is not very helpful very rude, especially it's very hard to understand what they're talking. There's one time a Indian guy talking to me l find it very hard to understand what he's talking about, and he seems to understanding what I am saying that means he understand my English. instead of transferring me to a English speaking person he sent a Chinese customer service to call me, and it's not very helpful because Chinese is my second language. On the 21th of November 2022 at 2:15 pm ,I have bought a car and trade in my old Vehicle ,so I call Ami to cancel my old Vehicle insurance than I can buy a new insurance for the vehicle that I have just bought. And it takes a long time to get through once I get through , and there is a Indian guy talking to my wife ,someone have given me the wrong policy number incorrect, so my wife say that someone have f up the policy number, he get angry and say this is human error not even a apology at all and she asked him for his name he refuses to give us, our frustration time on the line and now I decided to cancel all my insurance from AMI Insurance same as my wife. To AMI Insurance I strongly advise AMI Insurance to train your customer service or maybe you prefer better English speaking person, nowadays when you call Ami Insurance they don't treat that as a customer, instead of me treat him at a customer and to be careful for every single word I say so he terminate our conversation ,I am not a racist person but I strongly advised AMI not to hire Indian or you have to properly train them to be a good customer service, they are rude!!! AMI Insurance you are digging your own grave!!!

Taken over 6 months for my claim going…

Taken over 6 months for my claim going back and forth. Then them emailing me saying I have to do their job and liase with the auto electrician. I should even be paying my excess the people that did should be but they advised I have to pay it first then their team will get the funds ? It’s been over 6 months waiting. They could just acquire the funds now Then they have deleted their emails sent which is so strange. Then the parts for my Mercedes are 2nd hand so bad ! Reccomend another insurance don’t use them they are useless and take way too long as soon as fixed (yup still waiting !) am changing to another insurance. Apprently star insurance you get all new parts ect and it’s fine quickly so going to them

If you insure with these guys don't! STOP

If you insure with these guys don't expect any cover.
They're part if of the Australian insurance group and work on commission basis not to pay out.
AMI owned southern response that refused to pay their customers in the Christchurch earthquake.

Unfair insurance practice

I am disappointed at how manipulative they can be. Tried to make me pull out of my claim; only to say they made a mistake after. Further, they one-sidedly adjust my policy to add fees that were never agreed upon - forcing it down our throat. I am appalled and they must be regulated soon!

Extremely poor service

Extremely poor service. As an insurance company you expect them to work for you to get claims sorted but unfortuneltey you have to do everything yourself and after 2.5 weeks after putting in a claim then cant even contact the other party involved. Do not use AMI under any cicumstances. And they think the remedy for the situation is to pay your excess which they were legally entitled to do anyway

Really bad customer service

Really bad customer service, annoying staff and their hard tone. I am calling from last one week wasting 2 hours on phone every day but nothing sorted yet. All premiums are up to date but it still says arrears.

Unprofessional service

Horrible, frustrating, stressful and unprofessional experience.my son is Waiting months for answers, for parts, for case officer to reply to emails from auto electrician and himself.
Then to have the incorrect part arrive after weeeeeks that was insistently ordered by AMI,to be the incorrect part and can't be guaranteed to work.
The correct part that auto electrician had sourced is now sold and there are no more in NZ
All this due to asscessor trying to save a penny.
And ontop of it, its a second hand part and not a new one.

If theres zero i would rate them zero.I have been communicating with them but no one is responding.Whenever you ring the hotline they will just keep you waiting on the line.I told them that i prefer email conversation but they dont respond on it.My car has been ensured with them for 3yrs it seems like they want me to wait for another 3yrs or ages before they process my claim! Such a sheet! never go on this company!

DON'T WASTE YOUR Money with AMI

I have struggled a lot to get sorted my car claim.

I have called 2 times to my case manager, and left a voice message both times - but I didn't get call back both times and then I given hope on her. As I didn't have any other option then I went through the longer queue of the call (awaiting to contact you guys) to check with my claim status.

When my call connected, first I was told that it has been waiting for the repairman to come back. I mentioned to the person on call that it has been more than a week, could you check what is going on? And, then I was surprised, when I came to know that my car is still not picked up by the car repairer to get it fixed.

Definitely, I don't expect this type of service from you (means, AMI - or at last from my CASE MANAGER).

I have been told that I need to find out who can fix my car to sort it out quickly - Really, was it my job, to find out who is your listed repairer.
Isn't it interesting that I need to figure it out for you guys who is going to fix my car?

Now, I have news for you ALL AMI MONEY MAKERs, that I have found out AMI registered repairer in Wellington region and I have provided the contact details by email - NO RESPONSE. I have tried my luck by FACEBOOK page - Which you might listen when you call AMI that post your queries or facebook -AGAIN, NO RESPONSE. After all this, then I tried to call customer case, and then I requested to talk with senior person. She has tried to help me in this. But, ultimatly it took appox 5 weeks to get my car back. However, it took just a week for my another friend, who was insured with AA who has exactly same type of claim.

Can't b*tch about them enough.

My car was broken into. Like most Nissan. I didn't think it need insurance and thought I can just fix it myself. However, the cost added up to be over $2k so I decided to make a claim. Has everything, contact details of the security, police report, quote for repair...etc.

Take them 3 weeks. Multiples calls and NOTHING. So I made a complaint. Still no acknowledgement of the wait time, the stress that I was going through. Speak to someone who just making assumption, incapable of listening, and accusations.

I cannot curse them enough. Do not go anywhere near AMI. They need to be shut down completely.
AMI hired a bunch of mentally handicaps. I have never in my life curse a company or service that much.

My dad got into a car accident with one…

My dad got into a car accident with one of their client and offered to fix dads car through his insurance (AMI). AMI called and told us to take it to their chosen shop to fix which we did which it'll cost them between $4000 to $6000 to fix it. A day later shop called and told us to come pick up our car because they have to wait for AMI to see if they agree to fix my dad's car for that price. So we waited 2 weeks later and finally they called 🤬🤬🤬. Offered my dad $2000 and they say they'll take my dad's car like wth. We tried to argue but they said the cars old. We don't care just bloody fix our car or go try and find us a car exactly the same as ours if you can find one with $2000. Bloody useless.
