Walaikum salam
Walaikum salam,
I find it concerning that you are publicly accusing me of repeatedly using Al in my work I used my own knowledge and understanding in my exams and achieved high marks through my own efforts I also strongly dispute your allegations and I find it unfair that you have chosen to make public claims about my academic integrity in response to a review about my experience at the academy.
Regarding me leaving yes i studied at the academy for 5 years and I am not saying that my entire experience there was bad i appreciated the education I received over the years and i am not denying the knowledge i gained from studying at the academy i am grateful for the good experiences i had in previous years however appreciating your teaching and acknowledging the knowledge i gained does not mean i can't speak up about the things that disappointed me this year, my experience this year was different due to the way i felt my mum was spoken to when she contacted you to ask about my progress i found the way the conversation was handled very disrespectful my mum was asking about her daughter's education and i believe she deserved to be treated with courtesy this was a significant reason why my mum and dad decided to remove me from the academy please do not misrepresent the situation by suggesting that i simply left because i could not meet the expectations of dawrah hadith. Regarding the timings the course was specifically advertised as an evening aalimiyah course the Sunday classes at fajr time lasting around 4 hours was a significant commitment that i do not believe was made clear until only a few weeks beforehand you claim that 6 months advance notice was given but that does not reflect my experience i was not informed of these timings 6 months in advance and i stand by what i wrote in my review
I also remain concerned that a private conversation with a parent was subsequently discussed in front of the class.
Your response gives the impression that you struggle to accept negative feedback rather than addressing the concerns raised you have introduced allegations about my academic work and made personal comments about my character a negative review should be an opportunity to reflect on a student's experience not an opportunity to publicly criticise the student
For an academy teaching Islamic knowledge I would have expected the values of akhlaaq humility fairness and respect to be reflected in how criticism is handled teaching sacred knowledge comes with a responsibility to demonstrate good character particularly when dealing with students and their families these values should not only be taught in lessons but also reflected in everyday conduct
May Allah guide us all grant us the humility to accept sincere criticism, the wisdom to recognise our own shortcomings, and the ability to practise the knowledge we teach. May He enable us to treat others with fairness, dignity and respect, and protect us from allowing pride to prevent us from reflecting on our own conduct. Ameen.
Ultimately a person's character is not demonstrated merely by how much knowledge they teach but by how they behave when their conduct is questioned being a teacher does not make someone immune to criticism and possessing religious knowledge does not automatically mean one has mastered akhlaaq.
I stand by my review and my account of my experience I have acknowledged that I valued my previous years at the academy so this is not about claiming that everything was always bad It is about being honest that my experience this year was disappointing and that the way my mother was treated played a part in my parents' decision to remove me
You are entitled to disagree with my perspective but that does not justify making personal allegations about my academic integrity or attacking my character
Sometimes the way a person responds to criticism says far more about them than the criticism itself.
