Too difficult to use

Too difficult to use, I struggle to insert the balloon and it’s so fiddly. I tried lots of different angles, deflated the balloon, gave it 2 pumps as per their recommendation but I still struggled. It states that the balloon should sit comfortably inside but once I managed to insert I’d have to firmly hold it in place whilst using the pump. I thought that maybe it’s just me but seeing the comments here clearly others are having the same issue.

Avoid. Item never arrive and they refuse refund.

Item never arrived and they are refusing to refund me. Sent me a photo of a parcel dumped next to a bin somewhere. Apparently its my fault the item has been dumped somewhere, probably stolen or taken out by the binmen. I cant claim back by royal mail as I didnt send it. So theyve stolen my money and not sent me any product.

Update: Veronica from Aniball has told me she has "spoken to her lawyer" about me leaving a bad review. They still have my money. Luckily I paid through paypal so opened a case dispute. Avoid Aniball, theres no buyer protection with them if item gets lost in the post. And they are really unprofessional in their emails threatening legal action for a bad review. Laughable.

AVOID ANIBALL, IT’S A SCAM!!

I have tried to leave a review on the aniball website but have been unable to do so which I find rather odd!
This device is a complete waste of time and money, it’s almost impossible use!! The recommended one or two pumps required to insert the balloon makes the device too big to fit inside, I have only successfully managed it twice after countless attempts and tears. Why does the insertable part need to be so big when it’s being inflated internally anyway?! So stupid. On the attempts I have managed to successfully insert it I found pushing out even a small balloon made me bleed. Aniball is an overpriced gimmick that I definitely do not recommend! It’s a shame I cannot get my money back on it due to it not being fit for purpose.

Expensive waste

I used it for a few weeks before my due date. Give it 2 stars for following reasons:
- instructions could be more detailed, especially on how to insert it. I had to Google a lot to find a good way to insert.
- I personally was not able to go beyond 7 pumps, found it very painful.
- Most importantly, I found it quite expensive for what it is, plus, it cannot be recycled in any way. I contacted Anoball, asking if I can send it back for recycling/spare parts and response was that I cannot and just have to throw it into mixed bin. I found it a massive waste. Therefore, this company is not environmentally friendly. They could think about perhaps renting this device out with only replacing actual ball which goes inside.
For above reasons, I won't recommend it to anyone and would not purchase it if I could rewind back time.

If you are going to buy from this…

If you are going to buy from this company, at least buy until you are 37+ weeks pregnant. I bought when I was around 20 weeks pregnant and looked forward to using it at the start of week 37. However, baby came exactly 37 weeks. Besides opening it to read the instructions, Aniball will not refund me, stating that because the seal has been broken it's not resellable and for hygienic purposes. What a lame excuse. So I've lost out £100 for nothing. Do not waste your money. Luckily I didn't tear either, and I delivered a baby over 8 lbs, so the body knows exactly what it's doing so these gadgets may not be worthwhile, but certainly don't buy this item early if you were going to buy early as I did, because if you don't get to use the device then it's a waste of money. I cannot understand companies who are so difficult, I mean all they had to do was to put another Aniball sticker on the box. Easy peasy.

Reply from Aniball

Dear Helen, Veronica here from the Aniball team.

We're sorry you feel this way.

Aniball is classified as a Class 1 Medical Device and a hygienic product at the same time. We cannot legally accept an unsealed return that was, in addition, purchased six months ago. The product must be hygienically sealed and stored in our controlled warehouse with controlled temperature and humidity.

We explicitly state this multiple times on our website before the purchase - on the product page, in terms, in the How to section and in the manual, which is freely available online for this exact reason.

Moreover, there is a prominent seal on the physical product itself - explicitly and very visibly stating that the product cannot be returned due to hygienic reasons once unsealed.

We even recommend purchasing Aniball 4-6 weeks before the due date. We offer a prolonged 30-day return policy (the maximum we can do given the product is outside our controlled warehouse), which is stated repeatedly during the buying process. The competing brand offers a 14-day return policy; we decided to allow for more time in case of a last-minute c-section decision or other reasons.

Unfortunately, we cannot just "put another Aniball sticker on the box, easy peasy" - Aniball is under heavy medical device regulations, and this is about protecting the health of our customers.

Please ask yourself - how would you feel if you received a previously open product? Or if you bought a pack of tampons, condoms or anything similar that was previously opened, tampered with, and the seller would just "put another sticker on the box"?

We can understand your frustration, but we stand firmly about this decision - returning an opened hygienic medical device after six months is something we, unfortunately, cannot accept due to the protection of the health of other pregnant women and their children.
