Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Considering 531 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers found the payment systems confusing and difficult to use, often leading to unexpected fines for parking or drop-offs. People frequently reported issues with unclear signage regarding payment procedures and pricing, especially at airport locations, resulting in charges they were unaware of. The prices were often considered excessive, with many feeling that the company prioritizes collecting fines over facilitating straightforward payment for services. Reviewers also experienced significant frustration with customer service, describing it as unhelpful and difficult to reach, particularly when trying to resolve payment discrepancies or appeal fines. Some people mentioned that payment machines were frequently out of order, forcing them to use complicated online systems, and the short payment windows often led to hefty fines for minor delays. However, a few other people also felt that some customer service agents were helpful and understanding in resolving complex issues.

Express pick up Terminal 2 car park.

Express pick up Terminal 2 car park.
I paid what I thought was the right charge online within time limit. I have been told because either I was 3 secs over the 5 min time I have to pay fine. They send photos of the T and Cs showing they are right but how are you supposed to read these when you are driving past? what makes this worse is my husband had a burst heart valve so had to get out of the wheelchair and into the car.

Absolutely appalling service - avoid at all costs

Absolutely appalling service.
- attempted to make a payment for EV charging
- payment screen froze twice
- no electronic or paper receipt received despite paying via Apple Pay (so they would have my email)
- 2 x 'holding' payments of £40 went into pending into my account.
- contacted the company who said it could be 2 hrs to 2 days before the money went back into my account
- spoke with my bank who said this was nonsense, gave me the transaction numbers and informed me that Apoca could cancel the payments at their end using the transaction numbers
- I spent 25 mins on the phone where I was variously told:
- the refunds department were not contactable over the phone, only via email
- that they could not put me through to the refunds department
- that the supervisor was in a 'meeting'
- that I could, at best, receive a callback in 24-48hrs
- miraculously, after 15 mins, the supervisor came onto the call
- they repeated the same Kafkaesque nonsense about the refunds department (who I am expected to believe don't have a telephone)
- The supervisor attempted to terminate the call only to leave me on the line so I could hear them complaining about (despite being unfailingly polite) how rude I had been.

Miraculously enough, within 5 minutes, one of the payments for £40 had been refunded to my account (no doubt by talking to the refunds department who sit, likely, metres away). One payment remains outstanding, so no doubt I will have to go through this utterly pointless rigmarole again.

What a depressing state of affairs that you have a company who, in my experience, offer non-existent service, and who appear to train their staff so appallingly that they end up just repeating the same nonsensical lines ad nauseam.

I would heartily recommend avoiding this shower of incompetent buffoons at all costs.

I am incensed

I am incensed! I paid for my parking on the 8th December. I have a photo of the receipt to prove it! I have now received a Debt recovery letter for £170, which is the first correspondence I have received. I have tried to speak with Apcoa, who says I have to speak to Debt recovery, Debt recovery says the only way to appeal is to go to court! Has the world gone mad! Help me please someone??

Scammed on EV charging fees

The parking was fine and reasonably priced, the issue is we were charged double the fees for EV charging. I sent an email to them asking for the exact brakdown of costs as the amount my card was charged was double what you would calculate based on the fees they advertise on their website. I got a response A WEEK later saying that all fees were properly charged and they fid not provide a brakdown which I had asked for. So this feels like a scam

After I paid, they didn’t bother to show up for hours after the time they said they’d come

After I paid, they took at least two hours to come no matter how many times we called. They kept saying 20-30 minutes, but the customer service was heartless and cold. I have really bad anxiety and I was struggling with three small children in my car, tho simply isnt good enough
I parked legally, and we were only ten minutes late after our ticket ran out.

Penalty notice, despite paying…

I have just received a penalty notice from APCOA PARKING for dropping off my partner at Heathrow Airport. This is despite the fee having been paid and evidenced in my bank account. I would note that paying the £7 drop-off fee is made extremely difficult by having to make a phone call, then go through an arduous process to complete payment, which would be easy if a simple payment machine were installed. I am astonished that Heathrow Airport allows such a poor company to operate its parking facilities.

If I could give a minus I would,

These people are legalised robbers .
I'm not going to bore you with all the details, but we made a genuine mistake trying to find meet and greet at Manchester Airport. But trying to appeal, they make it impossible. The amount of people These guys have robbed is bewildering.
No difference between apcoa and street robbing scum

APCOA Parking, a terrible company

APCOA Parking, I am deeply disappointed and frankly appalled by the standard of customer service provided. At no point was there any genuine attempt to understand or address my concern, the overriding priority seemed to be revenue extraction rather than customer satisfaction and honesty.
Consequently, I have made the decision to cease using this company’s car parks and services entirely and will be recommending that others do likewise until significant improvements are made to complaint handling and overall customer care.

Avoid!

Avoid!
They’ve made it hard for people to pay. It’s very easy to get a ticket if you’re new to that airport and that car park.

Customer Unfriendly Blue Badge Parking

Parked at Winchester Station in a disabled bay and displayed a valid blue badge. You can park for free with a blue badge but must register first. The Apcoa sign displayed at the parking bay said more information was available on the car park tariff poster. This poster was not in the vicinity and we could not find it. It is a large car park - are disabled people supposed to traipse around the car park looking for key information? Anyway, I paid the Ringgo charge and parked displaying the blue badge (around £10). Contacted Apcoa to complain about the process. After filling in a lengthy form online was referred to an AI agent. After an unhelpful exchange I repeatedly tried and eventually succeeded in being referred to a real live agent (success!) but I waited 10 mins for this agent to respond and eventually gave up. To sum up, the system looks designed to be obscure and to extract money - it is extremely user unfriendly. If only the govt would regulate parking companies. The last govt tried but eventually issued weak regulations after lobbying by parking companies

Bunch of crooks doing daytime robbery

Bunch of crooks doing daytime robbery. The problem is we have no regulatory bodies who can regulate these cowboys. My plane delayed arriving to Luton by 6 hours. I let Apcoa know via email that my flight is delayed. I got zero response.
When I arrived , I was told I need to pay £38 to get my car keys. I paid for one week of parking at Luton £86. I told them this is not fair. I was told to contact their customer service. Well I thought they had a customs service . What they have is miserable people who just don’t care. They are happy to screw you over and their service iş their cover up. Who gives this Apcoa company all these contracts ? Is there a corruption ? They have 1 star rating from everyone on the trust pilot and they still run most of the parking in the U.K. ?

Worst Station App

Wellingborough Station had changed their parking system to pay before and not after which I was unaware when I arrived on Friday 16th January. I also was very preoccupied as there were signs but as soon as I arrived, all trains were cancelled because of a jumper on the tracks. I therefore left the station via taxi (leaving my car there) to another station to try and get to London. My planned return was on Sunday 18th January which was heavily delayed. When I returned to the station and went to the charge station to pay for my parking I realised my mistake and that I should have paid prior to travel. An EMR member of staff told my I could pay for the Late Charge online which I attempted via the website and the app. However, because I entered the station 48 hours before the late payment it was not allowed (you can only go back 24 hours to pay). I therefore bought parking 17-19th January (though I was parked 16-18th) and decided to call Customer Services to show my honest intentions and see if I can avoid the £100 fine. Unfortunately the agent said it was not possible and when I said I would like to speak to their supervisor they hung up!

20 minutes of my life wasted…

20 minutes of my life wasted downloading and registering for what can only be described as the most dysfunctional app I have ever had the misfortune to use.

Having divulged details such as phone number and email (which will no doubt be sold on)

The system won't log me in and freezes.

HORRIBLE COMPANY THAT DOESN'T CARE

HORRIBLE COMPANY THAT DOESN'T CARE. You run a SCAM at Stansted and need to be held accountable. £100 fine for paying a day late. Criminal and you should be investigated by the government for this.
