Apeman H45

Bought an Apeman H45 during lockdown, but as we were getting the garden renovated we didn’t get to use it. We opened it up and set it up the other day (June 2022) and noticed it just turns off after 5 seconds. We searched online for help and came across so many reviews saying the same problem. We went on to Amazon to see about returning it and the shop is now gone.

Don’t waste your hard earned cash on this product! Severely disappointed!

Unhappy with H45 camera

Unhappy with H45 camera. Weatherproof seal failed after only 18 months intermittent use. Water wrecked camera. No support from Apeman as outside the 12 months warranty.

Trail cam scam from apeman

I purchased a trail cam from their website for $100, they sent me some home webcam from Amazon that's only worth about $20 that doesn't even sell on their website. After 6 weeks I'm still waiting for a return label so I can get a refund. I would avoid this company stay far far away. First off I emailed them with the one that I used on their website and got no reply after 5 emails. So I used a different email got a reply instantly and now I'm still waiting. There needs to be an FBI type of company that look into these people because they are truly ripping a lot of "customers " off from what I'm reading here. Its and easy guess any positive feedback they have online was created by their own staff to generate more sales.

If at first...

So the first camera that I bought was defective, that is it would only run for 5 minutes and then shut down. Needless to say I was not very happy about this and wrote as much to Apeman. After a few false starts I was contacted by a woman called May, who assured me that she would help. Let me tell you that this lady is in fact the gold standard of customer service. Not only did she answer all my questions but she sent me a replacement camera which arrived very quickly. The new unit works perfectly, it has excellent resolution even in low light and the audio is crisp and clean. I'm an Uber driver and I work 10-12 hours a night so the camera gets a good work out. Happy to recommend the camera and the company as first rate.

Avoid at all costs no warranty and poor support. Why keep asking me for videos and photos to be told sorry we cant do anything see below.

Based on the video you sent us, we have determined that the machine may be malfunctioning internally and cannot be repaired.

However, we are very sorry that this camera is currently out of stock, so we are unable to provide you with a new one. Also, due to Amazon's restrictions, we can only process refunds for orders placed within 3 months. Your order is more than 3 months old. Therefore, we cannot help you directly with it.

You can try to contact Amazon to return the item and get a full refund.

If Amazon staff does not agree with your request, you can attach a screenshot of your communication with us to show that we as a seller agree with your proposal.

I have purchased an apeman dash cam and…

I have purchased an apeman dash cam and feel the quality is very poor. The fiels of veiw is poor.the picture quality is poor and the memory card doesnt work. I have been trying for the past few days to get the address to return the item but no one is able to give me the address. Email after email and still nothing.
Very unhappy.

1. I have checked with our team. In order to try to do something beter to make up for a little of your loss, they have already provided you with a return address.

2. Just because of our time difference and the limitation of the return policy, you may need to send multiple emails. I fully understand how you feel about needing multiple email exchanges to resolve the issue, but please be assured that we are doing everything we can to control the number of email exchanges. We will also pay more attention to this in the future work, so as not to bring you more inconvenience.

To answer your questions,

1. The problem of fiels of veiw. The C550 has a 170° wide-angle, it is not used for shooting scenes inside the car, but shooting scenes outside the car, with a very wide field of view.

2. Image quality problem. The video captured by the C550 is in 1080P resolution. You may feel that the video quality of the video captured in the 1080P resolution is too poor. You can choose the C770, which captures the video resolution in 4K.

3. Memory card problem. May I know what size memory card you are using?

Please don't worry, if the machine has any problem, you can contact me and we must be responsible for this. All we want to do is to make you happy!

Purchased another Apeman camera…

Purchased another Apeman camera following the demise of the last one after approximately 2 years use.
Found it very difficult to set to take videos/pictures....
only one or two at best most nights. (Unfortunately lost the receipt/email confirmation.) But then the clasp holding the batteries in snapped at one corner. So now held with a strong elastic band. Not the best particularly in bad weather. Disappointed to say the least having had the camera about a year. Don't know what to do to set correctly. Have followed You Tube videos to no avail. Giving up trying to watch the hedgehogs in the garden.

First of all, may I know what model of the camera you own? For the problem of "difficult to set up to take pictures/videos", here are some tips for you:

1. Please check 'Interval' in menu. Set the “Interval” to the shortest time.
2. Please get rid of protective films on the PIR sensor and lens.

Regarding the use of the cameras,

this camera has three modes, respectively is ON/OFF/TEST.

1. First of all, choosing TEST mode, then you can click MENU setting related parameters, like Mode, Photo size, Interval, Format, Set clock, Default set and so on.

2. When setting all option is ok, you could choose ON mode, it will count 5 seconds, then automatically enter the work mode, fixed to where you want to detect, then it begins to work. You can press MODE key on the TEST mode to view the files.

Please notice that:
1. The camera could only shot manually under the TEST mode.
2. Please do not forget to slide the switch button to the ON mode when you fix the camera.

If you still have some doubts about the setup, we'd love to discuss it for you.

In inclement weather, all cameras may get into water, which can cause water fog on the lens, you can try to put a bag of desiccant in the camera before shutting the camera's buckle, this might alleviate the problem a little bit.

Regarding the problem of the damaged battery clasp, I'm sorry to hear such news, you can contact our support team (the email address is in the manual) for corresponding help. Of course, if you don't mind, you can also directly tell me your order number, I will help you determine the relevant solution.

Apeman H45 Trail Cam Quailty

This is the email sent to Apeman support

I am writing to you to note my total dissatisfaction with the casing of the H45 Trail cams. You will note that 2 of these were purchased in April 2018 via Amazon. Though used a bit in the first year due the contraction of bowl cancer they were not used again till last year when I was in remission and getting fit again.

Please note the following,

1. On one a clasp hinge broke within a month of purchase at the time thought it might of been my fault but now think differently.
2. On the same unit the tripod mount broke last year it was set up on a mini tripod close to the ground may have been knocked over by a fox, I examined the other Cam and found crack in the plastic where the brass insert is fitted.
3. Then recently the second Clasp hinge just came away from the cam body needless to say after the first incidence I have been extra careful on opening and closing the case so I know that this is an inherent fault with the design/materials
4. The final straw was the surviving cam was set up on a tripod and when checked found a massive crack in the battery compartment which looks very much a stress crack due to the batteries exerting too much force across the casing.

To me as a retired design engineer we have ether a case of under design for the materials being used or a case of deficient strength of material used I.e a quality control problem on the batch ether way to me it is a case of the two trail cams not being of merchantable quality.

Needless to say the reply from support at Apeman was a scripted fob off with no offer of support so I would recommended stay away from Apeman products if you want a bit of longevity to the equipment.

No ongoing support.

I bought a secondhand CX3 projector. Looked everywhere online for updated firmware, as without it, the built in apps are useless. I found talk of a firmware release but the file was no where to be found. So I contacted support.

The support agent had never even heard of this projector. I had to give them a youtube link to it. It's only about 6 years old. After that, they seem to be ignoring my emails. So I've got an Apeman projecter that only works in a limited capacity, from a company that can't do something as simple provide a file.

Brought one for my wife's car

Brought one for my wife's car, with infrequent use it lasted around eight months, when one day it wouldn't switch off when the ignition was switched off. Power it up from USB and you get the menu but are unable to select anything. Dis the USB and the camera will work and will not switch off (or do anything with the menu) until the battery is dead. Tried every which way but no good, this dashcam is just well packaged crap!

Disappointing camera, mediocre support

Bought an a87 as it was on sale and I needed a camera to mount on my bike, rear facing. The camera is obviously inferior to better quality cameras so you get what you pay for. What I find appalling is that after initially being able to tweak ALL settings in professional mode, including ISO, this last one became disabled so I cannot tweak it anymore. My commute is currently done in darkness so I obviously need to make adjustments if the footage is to be any good. Customer service is a joke, wouldn't hurt to use your bloody name in their emails as a pretty basic courtesy. And "their engineer" is pretty useless at suggesting an actual fix. I reset the camera still the same. Do not buy because unless you end up with a faulty product they don't do refunds, so this was a somewhat expensive lesson. DJI Osmo for the win, in every way.

Regarding your desire to adjust the ISO setting, our sports cameras have the ISO disabled in video mode, which can only be set in picture mode. When shooting video, you only need to adjust the sharpness by adjusting the picture quality, we recommend 4K 60 fps at night.

Regarding the night scene effect, the situation that video is blurrier than photo.
1. While working in dark environment, the image quality if digital camera will definitely be influenced, and you can use a fill light.
2. The higher the camera image, the larger the noise in the dark environment.
3. The working principle of static image and motion image is different and it is not comparable.

Finally, and a very important point. I'm sorry our team didn't use your first name, which is something we've been trying to prevent from happening. We have always regarded everyone as friends and will always use your name when we communicate. We are investigating this issue and will definitely strengthen the training of the team to prevent this kind of issue from happening again.

Good product but company will not honor warranty

Buy if you don't mind product being broken and manufacturer doesn't honor warranty.

Unit worked fine for 10 months and then the suction cup broke apart. Made warranty claim to Apeman customer service. After waiting 3 months for broken piece, they now responded they can't send part or send financial remedy. They were bumped off of selling on Amazon. Still, they want me to go through wild goose chase and ask Amazon for reimbursement.

AVOID AVOID AVOID

I bought the cam a year ago, mounted just fine. No issues... until one of the prongs that mount to the dash broke off randomly after a bump. The cam would not mount. Reached out to the company and they offered me a 10% discount (which I just saw they offer for just giving them your email). The whole unit is in the trash now because I don't feel like taping it up. Horrible company, and a cheap product. AVOID

Go elsewhere - dodgy business

Ordered trail camera APEMAN H70 Wildlife Camera to replace a previous one which became faulty. Chose this on their recommendation, as the previous one (Victure HC500 Wildlife Camera), also supplied by them but via Amazon, was really good.

When it arrived, it was by far inferior in every way. I contacted them within a couple of days of tryng it.

The first response was: I’m sorry to tell you that because the product has been opened, we cannot carry out a second sale, so we may not be able to provide you with return service. If you don't need the product, it is recommended that you resell it online.

I send them a link to the Sale of Good Act, which seemed to be news to them.

Next, they wanted photos of the product and the packaging, to 'confirm whether the current packaging of the product meets the return request'.

Finally they gave me the address to send it to, but I would have to pay the postage as it was not faulty, and I have to send them the tracking info. Return postage is £4.20, which I have paid today.

Feel bitter as I do not feel the product they recommended is anywhere near as good as the original one, which I have now bought elsewhere and am very happy with.

Look elsewhere!

Would give zero stars if I could. The company tried to claim I had received the item and suggested I ask family and neighbours for the item. Apemans didn’t provide me a tracking number. When I finally received the tracking number, the history showed the post office had returned the item back to the sender as my address was incorrect. Apemans denied having sent my item to an incorrect address and tried to blame logistics.

I personally went to the post office and they confirmed they had returned my item back to Apemans as my door number had not been provided- only street name. I believe this was done fraudulently so they could provide a tracking number and have the item returned back to them.

They are asking me to close my case with paypal as they will refund the money to me. I don’t trust them at all

Company has terrible customer service - Do NOT Recommend

I received the projector in the box without an outer box, they had just slapped blue tape on the outside of the main box and put a shipping label on it. Once received, I realized that I had bought the incorrect brand/type for a gift, so I contacted them about a return. I never opened the box or even cut the tape on the item I received. While it seemed strange that they asked for a picture of the unopened box for a return, I did send them the picture of the unopened box to verify that it was unopened. Then I got an email that they would refund me 10%(!!!!) of the original price and I'd have to pay to ship it back because they saw defects in the box. This is how they shipped it! If they want PERFECT boxes for their returns maybe they should ship their items a little bit more secure with an outer box instead of just slapping tape on the main box for shipping. I'm actually wondering if the projector itself made it ok being shipped so poorly. This company is a complete sham and I cannot recommend that anyone buy their products. Incredibly poor customer service and shipping practices.

Great product and quality packaging. When I sold my car I needed a new mounting bracket and they sent me one FOC. So good after sales service.

Big disappointment

it is shame that reviews are being removed from there official product page, for verified purcahser.

Bought LC650 projecter from official site, I had chekced with them about the product condition as this was gift, I had been assured that they sell brand new products
1) The box had no seal, looks like someone has already opened it
2) The box is not in good condition
3) There picture is looking washed out
4) The black is appearing more as gray, because the white tint is all over, which is affecting overall image quality.
5) The image has very little brightness even when maxed out, as if the lamp is about to die.
