they don't deal with customers direct !!!

Call the to ask question about their company and getting a CPAP setup. I told her, I have a script from my doctor and insurance. She said they only deal with the hospital and insurance companies.

Not a company I would deal with.

Many phone numbers that go nowhere.

If you love sitting on the phone for an hour waiting for someone to pick up THIS is the supply firm you want! While on hold a message suggests using their website. Not exactly a novel way to waste one's time. The next hold message was to call the local facility, which I did. Their phone forwards to the SAME deep, black hole. There are no expletives sufficient to describe their crappy phone service. Their CFO needs a massive wedgie.

I agree with all of the negative…

I agree with all of the negative reviews. I'm with Kaiser and they don't offer any options to Apria. My experience with them with my former insurance company, Blue Shield, was horrible. Overcharged for everything and charged for mysterious 'accessory' items I never received. They've been hounding me for years, but Kaiser doesn't offer any alternatives to them.

To begin with I'm a 66 year old man

To begin with I'm a 20 yr. former employee retired, and I have had the unfortunate luck of needing a wound vac device called a KCI pump. First, they sent me home from the hospital on the wrong pump so the home nursing team would not treat me because they don't deal with this pump that they sent me home on and then it took nearly 2 more days to get a replacement pump when it failed to charge. But still the wrong pump. so 3 days in they finally got me the KCI pump but I still needed nursing which took an additional 2 days before the nursing service finally came. Finally, after a week the KCI pump failed, and they did bring another on Sunday evening. The driver who came was someone from the time I worked for Apria and he said the pump he had was the only pump left in the warehouse and I wouldn't have gotten it if a set-up didn't fail to come home. I find it amazing that a machine like this and so many users they only had 1 on hand which is why I was sent home with the wrong pump to begin with. How can a company the size of Apria not have sufficient stock on hand for new set-ups and replacements when needed for a critical care issue. Apria is not the company I knew and loved when I was there so many years ago and their after-hour responses are horrible as well this is to me a terrible fall from grace when patients needs are greatest. Please fix it before someone gets hurt. Returning to the hospital should never be the only option.

General incompetence at all levels

General incompetence at all levels. I moved from one city to another in the same state and they had to get my info faxed over because they don't have a central database. This shows incompetence at the highest level (CIO). The staff are equally incompetent. My doctor faxed a CPAP prescription over and they claimed they either didn't receive it or there was an error in it. They refused to call my doctor to get the details.

They are seriously the WORST CRIMINALS

They are seriously the WORST.
I'VE REPORTED THEM TO THE ATTORNEY GENERAL'S OFFICE FOR INSURANCE FRAUD AND I SUGGEST YOU DO SO AS WELL.
Even when you prove to them they shouldn't have charged you and your insurance company calls them and CONFIRMS that fact, they say okay .. you'll get your refund in 10-14 business days. Finally you get a notice that there is a payment for $1.07 that you MUST claim within 24 hours or lose it... but they actually owe you $57.87 ... so you spend hours on the phone once again and they say... oops... we will send a new check... in 10-14 business days. . Then finally that check shows up and it's for $1.07... you spend HOURS (NO LIE HOURS) on the phone AGAIN... and oops... okay... we will send out another check in ... you guessed it 10-14 BUSINESS DAYS.
This company is literally the most frustrating group of thieves I've ever the misfortune of trying to do business with.
I've reported them to the Massachusetts Attorney General (they called me and are investigating) and the BBB ...
Run away... run far far away from these criminals.

They are completely in capable of doing their jobs

I truly wish I could give them no stars none here in the state of California very awesome pulmonary doctor filed a complaint with Medicare against them … which I’m so glad that he did but here’s my issue they don’t know their head from their rear ends . I had three accounts YES three these workers are fly by night. It reminds me of a signed petitioner that stands out in front of Walmart. Do not use them the worst ever and I’m in Sacramento County and last year in September wanting to know how I can arrange for my equipment to be picked up since I was being switched over to Timberlake which is fantastic. And our cost factor is 1/4 of what Apria charges your provider BUT Here’s the issue this Gal walks back to check my account, she comes out she stated I’m still researching .. I can’t seem to find an account for you, Then she goes back again. Another 15 minutes later you don’t have an account - I looked at her and said you just are not looking in the right places I need to speak to your immediate supervisor. Well, of course, there was no immediate supervisor around. What a convenience

Sacramento County Apria .. Finally got switched over to Timberlake which is fantastic. BEWARE ask your provider to not use Apria - They’re really not capable of doing their job not at all and do beg your doctor if you need a CPAC, oxygen, whatever it may be any kind of medical equipment if it’s possible to use another medical equipment provider - now here comes the most interesting thing they’re billing is never right in their numbers they don’t know how to even add. I don’t understand in the computer like a billing program “figure that out” No, they got Silly folks there do not I warn you again do not use them. They are completely unprofessional, lack of customer service their equipment is crappy. They couldn’t send anybody out to service the equipment and I had them for 9 years. Oh maybe twice Don’t you think they would have at least enough common sense to say. We’ve taken into account that you’ve had your equipment for nine years. We have better equipment or let us exchange it out because they’re servicing. All it was was changing the filter and I could’ve done that .. Wash the son of a gun out and popped it back in and put the plastic in

but there is going to be a big lawsuit against them since they had a breach of information so good I hope they go under like out of business. All of those unprofessional lack of customer service should get booted

I found out that APRIA will auto renew …

I found out that APRIA will auto renew my contract if I change medical insurance. The current contract is for 15 months of payments. If I change medical insurance during enrollment period a new contract will be signed with new insurance. REGARDLESS if I have only 2 payments left, they will sign a new contract for 15 more months. If i change the next year again, the same situation, renew for another 15 months. That means that the device could have been paid for 3 years ago but am still paying because of the contract resigned not for balance but for entire amount. THEY ARE A BAD COMPANY TO DEAL WITH.

Shay

The person to whom my calls are routed is totally dense, they don't have a clue as to the information Apria needs to process an order. Instead they ask for it in dribs and drabs. My physician's assistant is a saint for patiently giving them everything they ask for. As it is, what should have only taken a couple of days has now dragged out into three weeks, and is still going on. I was also told that they had experts that would discuss which machines and supplies would be best for me, only to change their mind and say they don't provide any such information.

Worst experience every

Worst experience every. They failed to confirm the delivery address which resulted in the equipment being routed to the wrong place and the order being delayed by hours. Once the address was correct they only delivered a part of the order. The driver lied to dispatch and said he was at the facility delivering the order (but he was there an hour earlier). When dispatch contacted the driver he failed to respond.

Too late then no showed

They were weeks late delivering equipment. It could no longer be used when they did respond. Then they demanded to pick up equipment the very day our mother passed. Then they no showed twice for the pick up.

Abysmal ... run far far away

Every comment about the abysmal customer service is spot on. Hampton Virginia office particularly bad. Multiple calls trying to get set up, repeatedly ask over and over for same information, they're just abusive. Try to go over the head of the manager and she'll lie about getting the district manager to call you.

When the left hand doesn’t know what the right hand does…

I should have checked the company’s reviews and while I still had time ask my doctor to send my cpap RX to another company. There are lots to choose from in my case, it looks that they haven’t read any of the horrible reviews written here and elsewhere. Waited all day for my machine delivery, nobody showed. Called after the weekend and the only note the driver wrote is that I was not home. We were there all day preparing for New Year’s Eve. When I asked the telephone attendant if they called my number or what attempts they did to deliver she did not know. She then got offended because I was rightfully upset instead of apologizing on behalf of her company.

Absolutely a cutthroat company

Absolutely a cutthroat company. They keep calling like collection agency. My doctor sounds like getting some kickback from this company. He was a pulmonary specialist and next thing he’s giving me this company to help me with my sleep apnea. This company never sent me any supplies but he’s charging me every month for supplies. It’s an Indian company and I think they’re located in India. The don’t listen to you what you’re trying to tell them and they keep saying what they need to say. Absolutely it’s a scam company.

If I could give a zero I would

If I could give a zero I would. From the beginning errors on timely delivery, product working and customer service is so bad I don’t see how they stay in business! 4 hr call response time, 3 day equipment delivery! I was just on hold half hour, and couldn’t leave a message. Web site wanted cust number to communicate, never given one! Shame on this business people are dependent on for breathing!

Apria is impossible to deal with

Apria is impossible to deal with. I called in April to get CPAP supplies. I got a denial letter stating that they needed more documentation. They said they had no records before 2022 despite the fact they gave me my CPAP machine in 2020. For 6 months every time I ordered supplies it was denied by Apria not Medicare. Each time they told me another piece was missing. Even if all the demands they put out were correct they should have told me after the first denial everything that was necessary instead of one at a time. I finally got thru to a manager and she said I would get a call back the following day. When that did not happen I called again and was told that they sent me another denial letter. I reminded her that I was promised a phone call to explain what the current problem and once again she promised a call. Later that day I got a recorded message saying that my order request was denied. I started with Apria because I had an hmo at the time and I had no choice. I switched companies and one week later I have my supplies without having to deal with all the frustration Apria provides. Their customer service is abysmal. I called Medicare and they said all they could do is arrange for a 3 way phone call. Their recommendation was to switch companies

DISHONESTY - fraud and thievery

I just read a few reviews by others whose experience mirrors my own. This is a PATENTLY, BLATANTLY, DISHONEST company. Companies like this are a PART of the reason our healthcare system is in financial trouble. At least one other reviewer warned Kaiser patients: I am one!

Very long story! Short version - I was diagnosed with severe obstructive sleep apnea roughly two years ago. I received a CPAP machine for my specific needs from Apria and IMMEDIATELY learned of their corporate THIEVERY and FRAUD including charges for equipment NEVER ordered or delivered and double billing.

Within a couple of months I RETURNED the CPAP device (I am a retired FDA compliance officer. CPAP machines are regulated by the FDA as prescription medical devices). I THEN tried to BUY the same model outright. There are numerous reputable vendors available online.

I was NOT able to even though I had the required prescription for such a device. WHY NOT?? Because Kaiser has some kind of "agreement" to use Apria services exclusively. I COULD NOT have Medicare pay for the device without Kaiser participation and Kaiser REFUSED.

BTW, Outright purchase is half the price I (Kaiser and Medicare) are paying over 13 months and, as pointed out by another reviewer, this is NOT for ownership although Apria probably would not be able to resell a used device. The agreement is NOT RENT-to-BUY!

After desperately trying and failing for outright purchase with Medicare partial payment for half a year, I gave up and again obtained a device from Apria.

IMMEDIATELY, I received an "EXTRA" bill by "accident." I reported this to a Kaiser fraud investigator because Kaiser, too, would have received an "extra" bill. Unfortunately, as in my career, the investigator cannot discuss any investigation. I do NOT know if Kaiser took any action, but I DO know that Kaiser Mid-Atlantic is STILL tied to Apria.

Apria wants me to sign up for AUTO-PAY! NEVER!!! It is bad enough that they have my credit card number.

IF you are STUCK with this company, monitor ALL bills and statements carefully.

Dishonest! …

Apria needs to be honest with their customers they over charge constantly and you are told one fee and then they charge you a different fee it’s ridiculous! Now I’m being charged twice each month which was never communicated with me and the rate changed too. They over charge on the supplies too it’s a lot of money they are taking from me just to be told the machine is a loan after I pay it off!! So stop commiting fraudulent acts on customers and communicate and stop over charging! Thank you
