Auto-renew without permission and inconvenient to cancel

Auto-renewed my magazine subscription without any notification and took payment without warning. No function available to cancel online within my account, so very inconvenient.

However once I found the customer services phone number by Googling, it was relatively easy to cancel over the phone

Absolutely not worth the paper it’s…

Absolutely not worth the paper it’s printed on or the ozone it uses in browsing on line
It’s News at Local level is extremely amateur and repetitive. I’m surprised the Press so called “ watchdog “ has this far not been alerted to the blatant misinformation and misuse of Press Privilege.

The website is full of unwarranted and unwanted Pop Ups and is mainly an Advertising Opportunity for Business. The coverage is extremely amateur and is often in breach of Press Guidelines.

It offers a “ comment “ facility which is not accessible to the general and local community which in this case would be Norfolk despite being registered as a “ user “ or “ reader “

It is seen to promote through excessive advertising ( which is against Press Regulations) promotion of Business via excessive advertising masquerading as “ news “
It does no service to the Reader apart from advertising. The standard of Journalism is of CSE standard.

It should be removed from the shelves and certainly removed from on line media.

Print subscription cancelled without warning

Just had a 'no reply' email from Archant saying my print subscription to Hertfordshire Life is cancelled. No explanation - I hadn't asked for it to be cancelled. Now they've sent me a refund of £2.28. I don't understand it. I've tried to find an email address or number to ring to ask what's going on, but their various web sites (Archant, Newsquest, Great British Life) aren't helpful at all. Don't they want subscribers? It's not a bad magazine but their processes leave a lot to be desired.

I had my Derbyshire life magazine…

I had my Derbyshire life magazine renewed last year, no email just the money taken from the account, the magazine was a gift and my father no longer wants this.
Can I find contact details to do this? Of course not and also why should I have to when I have never renewed it’s a joke, I don’t want the same thing happening again and wished I had a direct debit as i would just cancel that, my original subscription was a yearly charge. I let it go last year but my father had read the magazine for years and it’s the same articles year after year so it’s now unwanted. Any help really appreciated!

All i want is contact details to cancel…shocking company

All i want is contact details to cancel my subscription. Shocking customer service. Every email address or telephone number no one answers or gets back to you. I get Lancashire life and after many years I want to cancel. I’ve decided to stop my direct debit to them so let’s see if anyone contacts me about that.

Unauthorised payment taken - without prior warning.

On the day they take an unauthorised payment from my bank account for a magazine subscription which was cancelled (with great difficulty) last year, Archant get in touch to let me know they have taken that payment and that they'll take it again next year. No way to contact them, no email, no phone number and no prior warning.
I had to raise a stop payment with my bank and set up no further payments to be taken.
Last year when this happened I was assured that it was a one-off and wouldn't happen again - something to do with them 'moving offices' which had caused confusion. This year it's impossible to contact them to hear what excuse and assurances they will come up with. What if this payment took me into overdraft? I am furious and frustrated.

VERY DISSAPOINTED!!

VERY DISSAPOINTED - I subscribed to a shooting magazine and insurance and just found that my insurance has expired I was not notified (Yes I should have checked), I went to the website and it has closed down to be told that this should be purchased through the publication directly - An Email or letter would have been nice as I have been shooting for the last 7 days with no insurance!! I have contacted the publisher directly and renewed my subscription and insurance.

Buyer beware!

Ordered a regional magazine subscription for my husband for Christmas from Archant. No magazine in January arrived. Had to email to get the February magazine sent. Had to telephone to get the March magazine sent. Put in a complaint to the Managing Editor as directed on their website. Got referred back to Subscriptions. Four days to respond. Five days on, still no magazine.
I see Archant have been sold. My review joins many other dissatisfied customers on here - wish I had checked this website before I spent my hard earned money.

Impossible to contact!!

I’ve had a magazine subscription from Archant for several years then all of a sudden it just stopped without any notice. I’ve sent numerous emails to several addresses but get get absolutely no response.
The magazine, canal boat, was good and always delivered on time but if you have a problem you’re just left in the dark with no one to contact and zero customer service.

Update: finally heard from Archant and they sold the magazine title to another publisher in Feb. You think they would let subscribers know!!!!

Archant

My personal experience of Archant newspapers is not to be proud of-from Archant’s perspective.

They interviewed myself and two neighbours on London Road Beccles. It was regarding speeding-still a nightmare- and they gave scant coverage and were not very interested in our plight.

Now, one could be forgiven for thinking some unwritten agreement exists between them and Suffolk County Council/Suffolk Police, as there is hardly ever any criticism of either.

Maybe in the absence of criticism, doubt must prevail, who knows, but little empathy with residents concerns are ever published, despite Archant being advised on many occasions.

Is this not a pre-requisite for a Democratic and free press.

All this, is of a personal and subjective viewpoint, and should be construed as such.

Why are Archant newspapers not featuring The London Road resurfacing blunder in Beccles. A Council official has resigned, Matthew Hicks is silent about it🤐questions are being asked by Councillors over the cost of this monumental cock-up, and SCC’s friendly go to newspapers say nothing🤫

Very bizarre🥷

Avoid this company

I have been having to deal with this company for 3 years because my mother loves the magazine subscription that I have been gifting her but am afraid this year will be the last. Their customer service is shockingly bad. They are not there for the customer and couldn't care less about offering service. Whatever simple request you ask, the answer is no. Also beware that you may think you have purchased a single year subscription but then find you have actually signed up for a rolling annual subscription. And you guessed it, when you ask them to help with this they won't.
