There's no customer portal so you can update your information

Well the only thing that I can say is that when it came time for me to file my taxes it took five different phone calls to five different people sending me here and there and I never got any of my paperwork that I needed to send to the IRS and to this day I still have not received that paperwork even after I told them every little single thing that I needed and gave him my email address and they all said oh we'll get right on it it won't take long never ever have I received it that is not good customer service to me at all

Great disappointment!

I submitted 2 emails requesting to cancel my "pro plan" membership and requested a full refund due to ARS neglecting to show up after rescheduling my preventive maintenance service 3 times! They said they were handling other customers whose air conditioning units were out. I empathized the first two times however, I paid for the preventative maintenance service already and I deserve service too! For the 5th time, the representatives have told me that they would escalate this request and have a manager contact me. No one has contacted me to date. Customer service is terrible!

I scheduled an appointment at 8:15am…

I scheduled an appointment at 8:15am for same day service and even spoke to an agent who assured me someone will be there between 12pm to 4pm. Mind you I got a confirmation email which stated that the tech will call 30 mins prior to their arrival only for my husband to call me and tell me that nobody showed up and someone had called to reschedule the appointment form 2 to 6pm. I called again at 4:30pm to confirm and guess what? they could not find my husband's appointment and this second agent reassures me that he will escalate the issue. 5:50pm rolls by, nothing so I called AGAIN and this one says she can't find my appointment or my husbands but then after 10 mins she was able to find my earlier appointment and not my husbands. At this point it's already 6:05pm I was so upset I said she should go ahead and cancel the appointment. This company wasted an entire day tossing me around like a piece of paper as if the service they were rendering was free of charge. They are not serious and if you have any type of sense please stay away from them. This will be my first and last time using these scammers. I really should have read the reviews before making the appointment because it seems they are notorious for making appointments and not showing up but they are linked with home depot so I thought they were a reputable company. Apparently not!

Hard to give them even one star

Hard to give them even one star. Called for a routine air conditioning check up. Took off work. They no showed. Twice. The first time I got a text message the next day “it looks like we missed your appointment “. No looks like about it. The second time it was a phone call at the end of the day. No third chance here

Had an appointment between 2:00-6:00

Had an appointment between 2:00-6:00. They called at 4:00 saying they couldn’t make it due to emergency calls. Rescheduled yesterday (7/15) again 2:00-6:00. We called to verify that day. They called at 6:30 saying they couldn’t make it, but we would be the first stop tomorrow. By 10:00 “no show “, and we called to cancel altogether.
We’ve been a customer for 9 years. That is going to change.

My advice based on experience is STAY AWAY. This company is dishonest and WAY overpriced. We got them in to maintain our Carrier A/C because the previous owner had them install it. They have been out three times and every time they find something that needs replacement. The bills are invariably over $1,000 (in addition to our $240 per year maintenance agreement). The last time they told us our condensate line needed cleaning and charged us $596. The solution: dump some chemical in the line and vacuum it out. It took ten minutes total. They insisted we needed a $600 surge protector that we didn't need as we have a whole house protector. They will never be as we have cancelled our service and will never call them again. There are many other A/C service companies out there who are honest and reasonable. These people are not.

Quick to take money, not quick to call or resolve your issue

If you are looking for good customer service and resolution of your AC issues, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

I was very patient and that lack of care and respect for me as a paying client, has led to this complete and thorough review.

Saturday evening, I realized my thermostat power was off. My husband does his due-diligence to ensure it is not something that can be resolved quickly. He contacts ARS Rescue Rooter Laurel and they schedule him and confirm via text an appointment for 12 MID - 8AM. This was honestly new and refreshing to know that there were techs that worked overnight. We made accommodations for our young children and I stayed at the house waiting on the tech. 640AM Sunday I call for an eta. The "agent" tells me I am still on the schedule. 800AM I call for an eta. The agent tells me, I am still on the schedule and a message is being sent to dispatch. 830AM I call and the agent lets me know I should have NEVER been scheduled for an overnight call, as they don't have techs to support that window. I ask for a manager and was informed that the managers are on weekend hours. So they will get back to me as soon as possible (within a 24-48 hour window). The new time is schedule for 8AM -11 AM. Again, as it approached 11AM, I call for an eta and the agent just sends a message to dispatch for an update. My level of frustration and downright anger has peaked. I am not hearing from anyone and I am going back and forth about finding a new company. 130PM the tech shows up. At this point still no call from a manager. Still not understanding why no one has addressed the fact that we waited all night and all morning for someone to come, and NO ONE SHOWED. So, 130PM, I know I need to get my house cooled. We have young children and literally are on the tail-end of a heat wave. So, tech "resolves" and proceeds to tell us there is a power issue and he thinks it is just because the screws of the fuse get loose from the movement of the furnace. Well, it is in fact NOT RESOLVED. 4AM I noticed how hot it is in our home, and go check the thermostat and it is off... again. Call ARS Laurel again to get that tech back. They tell us they will be there between 8AM-12PM Monday. So, now I have to adjust again, call into work that I will be late. Well, guess what, not only do they not come during that time. After 5 or more calls to the agents, still no call from a manager, we find out that we are going to be scheduled for 4PM. But that is not where this story ends. I am so fed up with this company, that I reach out to a reliable company, that came out quickly and properly diagnosed and resolved the issue. The next call we received from ARS was at 730PM that a tech was on the way.

This was in fact thee worst experience with essential home service providers in my 25 years of home ownership.

And guess what, still no call from a manager. Even contact the 901 number for QA... and still no one.

So I hope after ever "recorded" phone call, your company evaluates how you will continue to loose business.

Terrible Customer Service and Never Arrive When Scheduled

I was told a technician was scheduled to arrive at my home between 2-6pm on 6/18. After no one showed, I called at 6:30 and was told they are running late and would like to reschedule the next day between 10-2pm. At 1pm, they called to say they were running late and would be there by 4. No one showed up or called the entire day. I called and they then said they would be there the next day (day 3). On Day 3 I was told they would be there by noon. Here it is at 2pm and still no word. I called a fifth time to be told they were on their way. I never did se anyone from this comp[any nor did they call to reschedule. I would never use this company again and advise anyone to avoid them. Terrible customer service.

The worst!

The worst!! Tune up is not a tune up it is a charge to come out and provide a quote for work they think should be done. Way over priced, more then double what i actually had the repairs completed for. On top of that I keep getting a $40 charge monthly. I have called 6 times to cancel whatever service they think I should have. They will not let me speak to accounting or management. They only say they can send an email to get my refund and service canceled. We'll 6 calls later still charged. Filed with BBB and had to dispute charge with credit card company. Stay away!!

Scammers

Scammers. They are advertising really low tune up prices but it’s the way to get in your house. After it they are explaining that “is wrong” with your unit and trying to sell you $25-$30 part for $390.

Avoid ARS - overpriced, underdelivered, and unreliable

If you’re considering ARS Houston for an HVAC installation, don’t. They completely failed to live up to their promises — both in product and service.

In 2023, I needed a new HVAC system. Home Depot referred me to ARS, and their pitch sounded great: cutting-edge Carrier Infinity system, multi-zone comfort, UV light purification, attic humidity control, etc. I agreed, mostly because they offered financing, unlike the smaller contractors.

They quoted me $37,000, promising a full home overhaul — new vents, foundation, drainage, and more. In reality, they reused much of my old setup, overcharged for basic parts (the UV light and solar fan can be found online for a fraction of what they billed), and failed to deliver the multi-zone system they promised.

The system failed to cool my home on day one.
They didn’t respond for a week. When they did, they added four vents and acted like they were doing me a favor.

Nearly a year later, the system still underperforms. When I called again, they said the valves were going bad and wanted $3,000 to fix it. Even though Carrier offers a 10-year parts warranty, they tried to charge me $1,800 to "cover their tech’s time" — a wildly inappropriate justification.

As an engineering manager myself, I know the difference between internal cost metrics and customer service. This was just bad business.

A supervisor eventually confirmed the issue and promised a follow-up. It’s been three weeks. Six phone calls. Still nothing.

ARS’s motto is “Make it Work. Make it Right.”
My experience? They did neither.

Save yourself the stress, the cost, and the disappointment. Go with someone else.

ARS price gouges and can't provide any back-up on fees charged. WAY overpriced.

ARS charged $500 just to wet-vac out a clogged drain line, even despite having a maintenance plan that's supposed to check these things. They also ran a diagnostic which did not detect a faulty float switch. They are WAY overpriced. They cannot and will not provide any type of fee schedule...they charge whatever they feel like it on any given day. Stay FAR away.

Stay away from this company. I’m serious.

Every time I called them it would start off as a $200 - $300 problem and ultimately end up costing me thousands. I’m still waiting for my refund for a part that they made me purchase that was never installed in my heat pump’s outdoor condenser unit.
One example…I paid them over $1000 to refill the refrigerant and after completing that assignment, the technician told me my unit has a leak and I’d need to have the unit serviced. Really?? Now he’s telling me that I have a leak after he charged me over $1000 for replacement refrigerant??? The new refrigerant leaked out in a matter of hours. Now they send out a different tech who would be identifying the source of the leak. I knew the leak was in the exterior condenser unit and told him three times he’d find it there but he insisted on ripping apart the interior unit. Guess what? He couldn’t find a leak, charged me another small fortune and then packed up and left. I was furious so I called their business office and complained. Now they send a third technician out to look at the heat pump system. He finds in the leak in the exterior unit. The broken part was replaced. They could’ve done that right from the start but nope, that was obviously too simple of a solution. I called them again (huge mistake) a few months later for a new problem and of course it ended with similar but even less positive results. First they had to replace a circuit board in the interior unit. That cost me about 1000 dollars. That didn’t work. Then they had to replace a circuit board in the exterior unit. Yup, you guessed it. That didn’t work. I called an independent HVAC tech to come over and analyze the situation for me and all he could say was, “Yikes.” The circuit board installed in the interior unit wasn’t even wired and secured properly and he found no evidence of a new circuit board being installed in the exterior condenser unit. I ended up having to replace the entire system because everything was so screwed up. My advice? Stay as far away from this company as possible. There are much more reliable companies out be providing much better service.
Finally, I’m still waiting for my 300 plus dollar refund for the exterior unit circuit board that was never installed.

I am so embarrassed that I did not do…

I am so embarrassed that I did not do the research first. I was held hostage because my AC was not working in May in Florida. Over $1500 later in repairs I had another AC repair company come out and they showed me that only 1 of the "4 repairs" was actually completed. A suctioned drainpipe should be less than $300. I am an idiot. Do not be me

ARS took advantage of my elderly parents, high pressure sales, $6k wasted.

My parents are older and had an emergency kitchen sink leak that needed to be fixed. The technician pressured them into buying a whole house water softener system. They intimidated and pressured an elderly person into spending $6000+ in a system they didn't need! All they wanted was the leak to be fixed. I asked why they agreed to purchase it and they said they just wanted the leak fixed but he made it seem like they needed the system to protect the pipes so it wouldn't happen again. I call BS on them and shame on them for using high pressure sales and scare tactics on an elderly couple! Save your money. Go elsewhere.
