I will be forever grateful for this experience. ATAW’s Peru trip was my first time ever traveling with a group. Right from the start, we all clicked extremely well. Diogo was great at making you feel like you’ve known him forever. I never once felt out of place or unprepared. We were able to see and experience so much within the two weeks. I felt like I was able to really immerse myself into true Peruvian culture in a way I wouldn’t have been able to on my own. Altitude sickness is real and the hikes can be tough, but Diogo was incredibly reassuring and well prepared for it all. He was encouraging and never let any of us doubt we could handle it. This was an experience of a lifetime. I will undoubtedly be traveling with ATAW in the future!

If you are thinking about booking this trip.. DO IT. Put in your PTO, book your dog sitter, whatever you need to do, just do it. This was my first international trip and I could not have dreamed of a better way to do it. Besides the fact that Peru is an insanely beautiful and culturally rich country, Lisa and Diogo were truly the best guides and people to experience it with. I felt safe and comfortable the entire time and connected with a great group of like-minded women. Whether it's Peru, Bolivia, or Columbia, you will have the time of your life with ATAW. It truly felt like a group of friends exploring a country and loving every minute of it. The worst thing you could do is pass this opportunity and not book your trip with this company, so don't think about the reasons not to and just do it.

Hands down, this was the best trip Ive been on. ATAW planned it perfectly and balanced the itinerary in such a great way. Despite being on the move a lot, down time and active time were very well balanced so you didn’t feel overwhelmed. At the same time, they made sure we explored a large variety of Peru, constantly surprising us with a new adventure and immersing us in the local culture in an authentic and respectful way. It felt like we visited 5 different countries in one. It’s hard to pick a favorite moment, each part of the trip was uniquely beautiful.

Diogo from ATAW never felt like a guide but more like a fellow travel companion just with far more knowledge and far better Spanish speaking skills. You can tell how deeply he cares for the experience we have, the local culture, and each individual on the trip.

It’s evident the mark he and Lisa have left based on the type of people that come on these trips. The 4 other travelers and I connected quickly despite being from all over the world. We ended the trip in tears, sad to leave but so grateful for the experience, memories, and new friendships.

ATAW offers something that other travel companies simply cannot at a very reasonable price point. You will not be disappointed.

I will definitely be joining them on more trips in the future.

My trip with ATAW was a once in a lifetime experience! Peru is an absolutely beautiful country and I wish I could go back all the time. Diogo and Lisa’s knowledge of Peru and connections they have with the locals definitely make it a trip that you wouldn’t get with anyone else! Part of the reason I booked this trip was that it did and went to other places than just Machu Picchu (which was still incredibly amazing) but I got to see other parts of the country I didn’t even know existed. And don’t worry if you are traveling solo, you will make friends, and probably more so become family, with your fellow group members. I highly recommend ATAW to all those thinking of going to South America! I guarantee you will love it!

Words cannot express enough how absolutely fantastic my trip with ATAW travels was. If I could give them 10/5 stars I would. I initially went into this trip as an anxious solo traveler who has never been on a group trip with strangers before, let alone to south america! Immediately after being picked up by Diogo at the airport I was already at ease. Diogo and Lisa are incredibly knowledgeable about south america, and also so friendly and fun. By the end of the trip not only did they feel like new lifelong friends, but also like family (‘: Even in a group of all women travelers, I always felt safe having Diogo by our side!! Since Diogo and Lisa have many friends in Peru, booking with them allows you to have many immersive cultural experiences that you could not get going on a trip by yourself! Through their connections you get to have once in a lifetime experiences being hosted by a wonderful family on lake titicaca, and having a feast with native quechua people. Their trips are jam packed full of fun and allow you to make the most of every moment during your two weeks, while also providing a less touristy way to see peru. If you are on the fence about booking don’t be, book ASAP!!! I cannot wait to go to many other countries with ATAW travels!

Each day was better than the last, packed with breathtaking moments. Every experience was so thoughtfully planned out and seamlessly executed.

Diogo and Lisa have made incredible partnerships in Peru and in turn, gave us experiences we would have never had otherwise. They are passionate about sustainable tourism, and it is clear they care so deeply about the country, its people and culture (as well as their clients <3). I left the trip feeling incredibly inspired, and motivated to continue my travels throughout South America. I would highly recommend this trip to anyone- I am better for it.

Travelling with ATAW has easily been one of the best experiences of my life. I booked Peru as a solo traveller and I was pretty nervous beforehand, but that all disappeared as soon as I arrived and met Diogo and Lisa. Diogo and Lisa are so much more than just guides, I hope I’ve made friends for life and I can’t wait to join them on another trip. Their dedication to responsible tourism, coupled with their passion for providing unforgettable experiences, truly set this trip apart. Of course no trip to Peru would be complete without a visit to the iconic Machu Picchu, and it was worth the wait for the clouds to clear! I wasn’t sure what to expect from my first solo trip but I’ve left ATAW with once in a lifetime experiences and friends for life. If you’re seeking an authentic and transformative travel experience, join them on their next adventure!

This started as “an impulsive booking to go see Machu Picchu with some guidance” and pretty much turned into the most memorable way to experience Peru for the first time. Diogo and Lisa were not only our guides, but the most fun pair of friends I could have asked for on a trip where I joined as a solo traveler. The trip was culturally immersive and mostly off the tourist’s path, which attracts a very specific type of travelers, who are more engaging and actually care about human connections. I didn’t expect much from my first time joining a full 2-week trip with strangers, but I ended up with new friendship that I’ll cherish for a long, long time!

It took me a while to leave a review after traveling Peru with Ataw because it's just so hard to put into words what a truly incredible experience it was with such wonderful people. Both Lisa and Diogo who felt much more like friends than tour leaders and the amazing girls that signed up for the trip that became instant friends, that I hope remain friends for a long time. This tour was value for money a million times over thanks to Lisa and Diogo's insane connections and knowledge of pretty much everything Peru related, curated for us to divert from the tourist attractions and really emerse ourselves in the culture and people of Peru. I can't leave a review that would do this trip justice, all I can say is that my 5 star review is one of many and you haven't truly lived until you've travelled with Ataw! ❤️

I decided to join my first ATAW trip very last minute (20 days out) and I am so glad I was feeling spontaneous! Every moment of our Bolivian adventure was so thought out, yet we still had free time in the schedule to explore our new surroundings. I celebrated my 30th birthday in the Bolivian Amazon with the ATAW team and loved it so much, I met up with them 2 months later while they were running a tour in Peru. Lisa & Diogo are the best!

I went on this trip with zero expectations, but Diogo and Lisa went above and beyond to make this an amazing trip for all of us!
They curated the perfect Peru itinerary for you to completely immerse yourself in its unique culture and visit so many different places (literally, so many!! The desert, mountains, lakes, cities, countryside) and so many different activities. Not only that but what’s amazing about this experience is that I didn’t feel like I was traveling with a company and a group of strangers, I truly felt like I was traveling with my friends from day one.
So grateful for Diogo and Lisa and for everything they’ve done and can’t wait to book my next trip with them ❤️

I've been on two trips with ATAW. One in Colombia and another in Peru and both were really amazing! Traveling with them felt like traveling with a group of friends. The experience felt personal and I honestly feel if I had any questions or needed to reach out even if it wasn't related to the trip, I could count on Lisa and Diogo to help with any of my concerns. Going on these journegs gave me the confidence to start traveling by myself and showed me that solo travel isn't as scary as it seems. These trips also gave me the oportunity to experience the authentic culture of the places I was visiting, from local small businesses to intimate family-style gatherings, the memories created from these experiences will never be forgotten:) (Ps. If you are an android user don't be afraid to advocate for google photos!!)

this was the greatest group travel experience i’ve ever had! i signed up for this trip solo, and met nine other girls my age on this trip who also signed up alone. we quickly became close, bonded over our adventurous personalities and willingness to live these two weeks to the fullest. i’m so grateful to lisa and diogo for not only being incredible guides with a wealth of knowledge on the country, but for being friends to us all as well. before we left peru we all decided to sign up for a group trip with ataw to bolivia so that we could travel together again! this trip pushed me in ways i didn’t know possible and i cannot wait to travel with ataw again!!

Forever grateful that I was scrolling on TikTok and came across a video of girl my age hosting a group trip with a travel company, and inviting 10 strangers to sign up and join her on this Peru backpacking adventure. I knew what I had to do, and it ended up turning into the most incredible two weeks. I somehow had time to make the most genuine connections on this trip & had the absolute time of my life. The trip being pre-planned with the most amazing activities and all transportation being arranged was definitely one of my favorite parts. Lisa & Diogo are some of the most caring and inspiring people and their hard work speaks for itself. They gave us such an immersive experience where we got to see and connect with the nature, the culture, & the people of peru. So this is your sign to book the trip and just do it scared because money always comes back, but experiences don’t !!!

This was my first ever group trip and I have to say I am so scared to go on another one because no other trip will ever compare to this one! I did the May Peru trip and it was absolutely a once in a lifetime trip! Diogo & Lisa are the best guides someone could ask for with their extensive knowledge of the community and culture here. Being taken to hidden gems all over the country that I never would have discovered without them was something I will never forget. I can’t wait to go back on another trip with them!

Wow. This was the most incredible travel experience I have ever had. Lisa and Diogo have poured their hearts and souls into planning the itinerary for this trip. We got so many unique learning experiences and got to hit up all the best places around Peru. The experience was so personable, and left me with 11 life long best friends. Lisa and Diogo are the kindest humans you will ever meet, and they are more than just your guides. They are quick to answer any questions you have and meet any accommodations you require!! I love them and can’t wait to travel with ATAW next year!!

I’m not sure there are quite the words to describe how incredible, life-changing, beautiful, and irreplaceable this experience was. Not only did I make life long best friends with everyone on the trip but our guides, Lisa and Diogo were some of the best people I have ever met. They didn’t just take on the roles of being our guides, but they were one with our group and made the trip feel personable and special. They whole experience ran incredibly smoothly thanks to Lisa and Diogo’s knowledge of every place we went. There truly was never a dull moment throughout the whole journey. To say I am grateful is just the beginning, this trip was once of a lifetime and I will forever be thankful for the sights I got to experience, the people I met, and the memories I made. I don’t even know where to start, Lisa and Diogo are absolutely amazing humans, they were so accommodating and incredible throughout the whole trip. They showed us many hidden gems that I wouldn’t have ever been able to experience otherwise, it was truly an incredible trip, that I am so Thankful to have been part of. I was slightly anxious before the trip but within seconds of arriving I felt like I’ve know everyone my whole life. Can’t recommend going on a trip with them enough!! Already super excited to go to Bolivia with them next year :)))

I don’t even have words to explain how life changing this trip was. i came into it knowing nothing and i left with an entire new group of best friends who feel like family. lisa and diogo will go above and beyond to make sure u feel safe, cared for, having fun, and loved :) i already blocked out my calendar to attend their Bolivia trip because i was so sad to leave. they are the best company i can’t even explain how wonderful it was. i knew they would be genuine people from the minute i spoke to them on the phone months before the trip. big love to lisa, diogo, all the locals we met, and all the girls who were on this trip with me <3 so blessed to have a new supportive loving group of people in my life.
