REFUND!

I've been with Avant for about a year had no issues. Until last month when they took a double payment off my card without my consent leaving me short of £134 I called up straight away & was advised they would refund the payment they took in error & would be refunded back to my card with in 1-3 working days.
9 days later & after me emailing & calling everyday & I actually broke down in tears to them today I was that stressed, to be fobbed off with "it's with the refund department" and I still haven't received my refund.
Absolute disgusting behaviour when you can't actually speak to anyone about your refund they have to email.

Very quick, simple process

Very quick, simple process, very polite agents when contacted on the phone. I would thoroughly recommend Avant Credit to anyone needing a loan. The terms and rates were favourable compared to other providers.

Really good company

Really good company. Wasn't bombarded with emails etc form other companies, and Avant sent reminder of the payment date every month, well before it was due. Would use again..

Very Misleading Process

There are 6 reasons why Avant’s processes may mislead you. 1) (ClearScore) you are told that you have 100% chance of being accepted and been pre-approved for the loan on the understanding that the information given is accurate. This is NOT the case. In fact in my case this a lie as I provided you with evidence supporting things like my income. 2) you will be given a contract to sign, giving you the impression that the loan has been granted. Normally you don’t sign an agreement unless you have been offered something. 3) you will be given a payment schedule, again giving you the impression the loan has been accepted. Why would I be interested in scheduled dates and amounts you are going to collect from my bank account unless I had entered into an agreement? 4), you will receive an email asking you to confirm your bank details for Direct Debit payments again giving you the impression your loan has been accepted. Why would you need to confirm my bank account details unless you were going to make or receive a payment? 5) You receive an email saying your Direct Debit is set up and money will be taken from your bank account as long as the mandate is approved by your bank, again giving you the impression that your application has been accepted. Why would you set up a DD for something that still had a chance of failing?

Im in a lucky position where the loan was more helpful than a necessity. But if you were desperate and mislead like I was I can see a rejection being much more painful. When pointing all this out to Avant they concentrate on the rejection rather than the point that they are misleading people in the process as they think this would be the most important thing. Just be very very careful and do not consider you to be successful applicant no matter what they send in writing or say. You really will only know when the money is in your bank!

Seriously UNIMPRESSIVE

Seriously UNIMPRESSIVE, USELESS Customer Services.

Have a loan with these morons, the set up was easy, but repaying on a recurring card authority. Whilst away on holiday transpired that they had taken out the card collection multiple times, they subsequently (took a week) paid back the unauthorised collection, however I incurred bounced Direct Debits, with associated charges from my bank etc, AND their useless system states online that my collection is PAST DUE (which it is not), and this has now been registered with credit companies such as Experian etc as a late / missed payment. Despite promises that I would get a call-back, it's never happened, and complaints are simply not followed-up. When their "Resolutions" team emailed me back stating that I had the right to stop the recurring card authority and that I could set up a DD instead, no instructions were in the email despite advising that this was the case. Really terrible, AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE

Very disturbing

Very disturbing, processed an incomplete application after I had telephoned them asking them to cancel, without an actual account, input my income from information they apparently got elsewhere !!!!. when I complained that I thought they had breached the data protection act, was given conflicting inconsistent information. Manager told me that all resolution staff are quAlified in data protection despite being in Chicago at an address that they are not allowed to give out, - which I subsequently read off the ICO site. Backtracked 5 minutes later saying he'd never said that. When I suggested they were ignorant in respect of the law , was told he would disconnect the call if I kept using profanities. Apparently ignorant is a swear word. Will be reporting to fsa and ICO, as they are obtaining information without your permission and processing requests without authorisation. Avoid if you was your personal information to stay secure

Absolutely appalling service - Taking payment twice!

Absolutely appalling service. Taken out my regular payment twice on the 25th August. First at 01:30am then at 02:15am. Called up that morning and spoke to a member of the customer service team who apologised for the mistake and told me she would send the refund straight away.

5 days later I checked my online banking. Still no refund so I call customer service again. This time a male tells me he will leave a note on my account to make sure the refund is sent today and he also apologises for the inconvenience this has caused.

I then check my online banking again on the 4th September and still no refund has returned to my account. So I email support resolutions and ask what is going on. Here was their response...

'Please forgive the inconvenience this has caused.

Our records indicate that the refund of £170.90 was approved 04 September 2017 and is in the process of being sent to your banking account ending ****. Please contact our office if you do not see the refund deposited in your account by 08 September 2017.

Kind Regards,
AvantCredit UK Resolutions'

So it has taken almost 2 weeks since I raised the issue for them to approve my refund and begin to process it back to my account? After being told on the 25th August that it would be issued straight away!

Anyway it gets to the 8th September and I check my online banking again and guess what... Still no refund!! I am absolutely livid at this stage and I phone customers services again and explain the situation yet again. The gentleman tells me it could take all day for the money to reach me so just keep checking.

It is now Saturday 9th September and my refund has still not been returned to my account. I am absolutely appalled by this service and will never use it again once my loan has been paid off.

Terrible company

Terrible company! Got a good credit score of 793,but declined me,stating that they couldn't confirm my identity, even though I went through a credit scoring agency who recommended them and that I had been pre approved for a loan, they also had bank statements, pay slip. Most annoying was that they get you thinking that you have the loan,by sending you a direct debit mandate, tell you how much your monthly payments will be.and then zap the life out of you when they send you a declined email, stating that they can't confirm your identity.

Customer service was very unhelpful …

Customer service was very unhelpful when calling and no continuity of assisting with problems.

Fell into payment difficulty and set up a plan with them and a few months later they sold my account on to a debt management company without any warning

If this company had been a uk lender and not a USA based company I suspect I would have been treat better.

Again another company who throws money at you but doesn’t want to help if you get into difficulty

Small Peoples with small houses, and lots of scripts.

I have just had the most astonishing experience with a financial institution ever.
I had a long history of illness in my family and unfortunately, that person passed away recently. Although I have a reasonably good salary, over these battling years my finances and credit history took a predictable hit, and I end up at Avant door step,
My employer has just promoted me: I use to be a contractor for them, and they have just made me an employee, with a pay rise and another job title (senior). Obviously, the reference in my salary on my bank statements has changed. In the last month, I've worked 3 weeks in my previous job, one week in my new role, and I did get two salaries on my bank statement.
I have spent (wasted) all week explaining my promotion and why my salary reference changed. The scripted answer from "Avant peoples" was all the same: "I can not consider two incomes; which one I should consider?"
Every normal person, as in - a human being, without scripts, would know that: income1 + income2 + ... incomeX = INCOME; as long they are legal and not unethical.
These types of questions are designed to be hypothetical therefore not answerable since both answers would be not true, which is contrary to the principle and guidelines of the loan application itself: " ... I confirm that the information I have provided is true ...".
The knockout was my last phone conversation with them; after a prolonged interrogatory if I had ANOTHER source of income, the man on the phone went away and after a while came back: "Sir, we have some good news for you! Our team has just finished the final review of your application. Now, you'll just have to wait for an email decision; you'll get that in the next 24 hours".
Never could understand what was the good news...
Needless to say that an email received after several hours, was a Decline.
Maybe this was indeed "good news", that I didn't get involved with these people?
Got to go, I have to delete that Direct Debt from Avant in my account, and change all my passwords.

P.S.: Dear Sir and Madam "REPLY from AVANT",
Don't need to reply me with your scripted and repetitive replies; I guess everyone here already knows all of them by heart.

Is my great 12% interest rate correct?

I haven't had a problem with this company but some people are talking about the awful high interest? Some as high as 79%! Mine is 12% so much cheaper than my credit cards which I consolidated but I am worried that I am not actually on 12%!
