Soo disappointed...

Soo disappointed.... Have been using (and recommending!) bbold for years, especially the smart mousse which was brilliant and gave a lovely mid glow to my pasty irish skin.... The new formulas are rubbish and after three applications of the new version over the past two days (waiting the full 3 hours each time) it hasn't come up to nearly the same level of tan as one application of the old one. Waste of money literally down the drain now, Looks like I'll have to find a new one. 😭

We completely understand how frustrating it is when a product you loved and trusted is no longer available. Just to clarify, the Smart Mousse formula itself wasn’t reformulated, the product was unfortunately discontinued. Our Express Mousse is the closest alternative we currently offer, however it is a different formula, so the development and end result can vary compared to what you were used to with Smart Mousse.

We really appreciate your honest feedback regarding the colour payoff and performance, and we completely understand that it may not give you the same finish you loved previously. Everyone’s skin and tanning preferences are different, which is why we also offer a range of formulas including mousses, liquids and serums that may suit you better and help achieve the glow you’re looking for.

Very disappointing - buy another brand

I rarely leave negative reviews, but this was honestly a really disappointing experience.

I bought both the facial tanning serum and body tan from bBold, and the results were completely inconsistent. The face serum turned extremely dark and orange (even using just 2 drops mixed with moisturiser), to the point it looked unnatural and was difficult to remove.

Meanwhile, the body tan barely developed at all and made almost no visible difference.

For the price, I expected much better quality and consistency between products. What makes it worse is the “no returns once opened” policy, which means you’re stuck even if the product doesn’t perform properly.

Overall, a waste of money and not something I would purchase again.

The only plus is it smells nice when applied. Waste of money.

In order to get the best result from both of your products we recommend following the below steps.

For face serum, we typically recommend applying this to clean, dry skin in order to get the best results as sometimes the ingredients in your skincare products may not work well with the ingredients in the face serum. However, if your skin is more dry, we recommend applying a light layer of moisturiser before going in with the face serum on our buffing brush.

To get the best results with tanning serum, we recommend prepping your skin such as shaving and exfoliating 24-48 hours prior, we also recommend using an oil-free moisturiser as oil based products can interfere with the products developing process.

We can understand how frustrating it can be when a product doesn't work for you on the first go. Everyone's skin is different and what may work for someone else might not work for you. Unfortunately, we are unable to process any refunds or replacements for products which have been opened and used. We're sorry for any inconvenience.

Worst tan I’ve tried

Worst tan I’ve tried. I ordered the super dark serum and exfoliated 24 hours before as recommended. Done a layer and the initial colour is stunning so I had high hopes for a dark tan. Let it develop for 9 hours and the whole thing washed down the drain when I showered. Came out looking like I hadn’t even tanned. Very disappointed.

One thing we would recommend is avoiding applying moisturiser or any products directly before tanning, as this can create a barrier on the skin and affect how the tan develops and holds. Disappointment with the handling of faulty goods

UPDATED UPDATE - 2/8/2025 STILL NO REFUND.

*UPDATE - prepaid returned label sent when trust pilot review submitted*
(All items ruined when one product in the bundle leaked all over)

I received a faulty item and reached out to customer service requesting a return label. ( tan bundle - the tan leaked all over the box and other bundle items and this was a gift) Instead of addressing the issue properly, I was offered a 50% discount as a "goodwill gesture on just the tan, not the rest of the ruined items"—which made no sense, as the items were defective and I wasn’t looking for a discount, just a return.

Eventually, I was given a return address, but no prepaid postage label, meaning I was expected to pay out of pocket to return something that was faulty in the first place. Very poor handling of a basic customer service issue. I expected much better and won’t be ordering again!

As soon as you got in touch, our customer service team looked into the issue and offered a 50% refund on the affected item. This is part of our policy when a single product in a bundle is slightly damaged in transit but the remaining items are still usable. This way, we aim to resolve the issue quickly while allowing you to keep the products. We’re sorry this didn’t feel like the right outcome for you.

That said, we understand you weren’t satisfied with this outcome, and since then, we’ve been in active contact with you via email, where a prepaid return label has already been arranged. Given that we’re currently resolving this directly with you. Please know our team always work to resolve situations fairly, and we genuinely tried to offer a resolution in line with both your concerns and our policy.

Bottle arrived leaking tan…

Ordered through TikTok shop on the 16th and received yesterday for a holiday tomorrow. Was really excited to try the product since their rebrand as it has been a good few years since I used bbold but remembered really liking the tan.
The tan had leaked all the way through the plastic sealing and into the box. My hands were stained with tan just from taking it out of the box.
Contacted customer service immediately and sent images (you can very clearly see the tan all over the lid and bottle, still totally sealed in the plastic wrap).
No one responded until this morning and advised the item needed to be returned in order to refund or replace. I of course binned the tan straight away as I did not want to have a leaking bottle of tan lying around to stain any clothes or furniture.
Extremely disappointed with the service, wasted time and money and will order from other brands whom I’ve had no issues with in future.

Amazing product but short lived

The instant tan is amazing and my absolute go to. However every bottle the spray stops working after 1/3 used. Happened on 10 different bottles. Have emailed and never had a response. Disappointing as you know you are only getting partial use out of each purchase. Needs looking into!!

Dark spray/mist tan-WOW

I currently have been using the spray/mist shade dark! WOW. The formula is amazing! Applies smooth and dries fast. Never been streaky and does not leave your skin looking like tiger bread when coming off it fades evenly. The hype is totally worth it and josie has made and absolute work of art with this tan ❤️

The josie peaches tan smells amazing but is very dry to apply which makes it hard to blend with out being patchy, the spray bottle kept leaking when i was spraying it and going everywhere . It is a amaze colour but theres some things that could be changed x

Obsessed with this product

I can’t rave enough about the
Josie peaches deep glow liquid-easily the best tan I have ever used hands down! So natural looking, wears off so well and as someone with areas of dry skin it has helped so much with patchiness & evened out my skin tone. It’s also a dream on removal and doesn’t involve any major scrubbing. Plus, it leaves little to no transfer even minutes after applying which I was so impressed with. My new holy grail!!

Amazing!!!

Amazing!!!! Having tried both the super dark mouse and the peaches liquid I can say with someone who suffers with psoriasis the peaches liquid is a game changer you would not think I suffer with a skin condition it doesn’t cling to any dry areas and looks very natural with minimal transfer.

Ordered and paid 22/8/94 for two…

Ordered and paid 22/8/94 for two sunless serums, I only received one. I’ve contacted company several times and was eventually advised 3/9/24 by Charlotte that they would check cameras and get back to me. This action would apparently take 3/5 working days. I’ve emailed again for follow up and as yet received no response or replacement. Very disappointed as this company as effectively stolen my money.

Unfortunately I am not happy with my findings! I bought the bold medium liquid tan and it felt like the 200ml bottle was half empty! When I measured the contents it was 150mls?? I await the response! Can someone check if you have a similar volume?
