AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Been with the Bank 20 years last 2/3 years a disgrace. Their insurance company declines claims and gives no explanations and no options to review or appeal, in fact they still cant send you a letter
Their local branches interested to push in house bank products such as them
obviously all hard sell commissions paid and sod the customer

I have my home insurance with Sabadell…

Update - they ignore your calls. After finally getting through (4th attempt) and begging him not to leave me hanging he passed me on to another agent and left me waiting for another 20 minutes before I finally ended the call after realising they weren´t going to answer.

Don´t use - find another insurer. I will be looking for a new mortgage provider to change to

I have my home insurance with Sabadell and raised a ticket yesterday as I have a leak in my kitchen with water dripping through from the recent rain. They sent me an SMS appointment for today that someone would come out between 8:00-10:00. I have taken the day off work and no one has come out. No one answered on their whatapp for 30 minutes and when they did they told me that and the SMS isn´t a real appointment. Thens he disappeared and I´m still waiting for a response on whatsapp whilst trying to call them as well. When I finally got through on the phone after waiting for 15 minutes in the queue the lady told me she was managing my request and then disappeared and left me hanging on the phone for 10 minutes until I finally hung up. I have called again and have gone through the process of providing my NIE and waiting another 10 minutes listening to the music until it just went dead. As I write this I am still waiting for my phone call to be answered (listening to repetitive music again)...terrrible, terrible service.

Impossible to contact

Impossible to contact. Impossible to cancel Home Insurance policy. Impossible to successfully lodge small claim. Surly, rude unhelpful staff. Query and withhold all even minor incoming funds.

Hopeless

For no apparent reason I was locked out of accessing my Spanish current account using the Sabadell app on my iPhone here in UK. I spent about 30 minutes talking to a most friendly English speaking female trying to resolve it. Numbers, codes and passwords flew. All to no good effect and we gave up, having run up a sizeable phone bill no doubt. I asked about 2FA security but Sabadell doesn’t use it. The security software must have been written by a mad person as no amount of referring to her superiors or trying different codes opened up the account. I have every debit card, passport, security code, password, tax code and inside leg measurement number here. Hopeless.

This bank just rips off non residents it seems like they make up fees they take out off the account as they go along . Terrible bank. Do not open accounts with these robbers it’s a joke

The handling of my claim reveals…

The handling of my claim reveals systemic negligence, a complete lack of coordination, supervision and accountability.

Over a period of approximately eight months, despite dozens of phone calls, my case was repeatedly ignored, left unresolved and poorly managed. There was no effective case ownership, no written communication, no proper follow-up and no control over appointed contractors, which directly led to additional damage instead of resolving the original loss.

Even after the insurer formally acknowledged unjustified delays and explicitly confirmed my right to choose between priority repair or compensation (SAC Resolution), this right was ignored in practice. A compensation payment was issued unilaterally, without consultation, without presenting any cost estimate, and without allowing me to make an informed decision.

The amount paid was approximately eight times lower than independent quotations obtained from local specialist companies for the same scope of work. Such a discrepancy makes the compensation entirely unrealistic and raises serious concerns about the credibility of the valuation process.

Furthermore, the insurer made it extremely difficult to opt out of policy renewal, providing unclear procedures, limited communication channels and practical barriers that appear designed to retain the customer by default rather than by service quality.

As a result of this prolonged mismanagement, my family has been forced to live for months in unacceptable conditions with a dysfunctional sewage system, causing severe stress, emotional exhaustion and a total loss of trust. This is not what responsible insurance protection should look like.

Shocking experience with this bank

Shocking experience with this bank. Extremely poor customer service. We tried several times to validate our account. Even visiting the branch on at least two occasions with the required documents. They claim the documents can’t be accessed. They’ve suspended our account which has led to interest charges on returned direct debits. We have since set up alternative banking in Spain but cannot get the money that was in our account back. We’ve spoken to customer services on several occasions and get absolutely nowhere.

Stay away from this Bank..Charged to give them my saving,
They do advertised that the online account it is totally free but unfortunately after 3 months I got charged 60 Euro for maintain the account more over I get my salary direct into he account.
I am gonna close it a soon as possible.

.... service. just a little service.

Phone banking with Sabadell. It's Dis-seivice not service. I pride myself on spotting a lair but it's difficult on the phone. If they something be sure to ask in writing. I've been promised actions would be taken only to find out later 'nothing on the system'. Oh Sabadell, why can't you get the basics right? You want my mortgage? First I need a customer interface I can trust. It's not rocket science.

The online helpline used to be good

The online helpline used to be good. In previous months I have tried to use it a couple of times, but failed. Today, I managed to get through to an online agent after trying for about an hour and then she closed the chat immediately after her answer was posted. I tried to get in touch again to ask one more question. I queue up and then I get kicked out again because in their view they have already responded to my query. I tried to write a complaint to customer service, however the complaint form doesn't have a tag for online support.

They overcharge, they lie and they ignore you. They have no idea what customer service means and they don't care. We are in the process of leaving them fortunately. Please don't go through what we have...avoid like the plague!

DO NOT USE THIS BANK.

Dreadful awful bank. We had a mortgage in Spain with this bank for 20 years, what a mistake that was. Customer service is completely non existent, they charge for everything, including having an account. The 1 star review they have is flattering for them. If we wrote down all the problems with them, my battery on the IPad would be flat.
If you buy a place in Spain, wait until you deal with Endessa (utility supplier) they are equally as useless as Sabadell, and, when you come to sell your place, the taxman will be on your back and the cost of selling your property is unbelievably expensive.
We’re not having a pop at the Spanish people, they are fine.

What a circus

I guess I am joining the very many people who have expressed their discontent about the services (or lack of them) from Sabadell. Alas I am not an exception. To cut a long story short, my credit card balance has been overcharge by EUR. 1000+ due to an IT hiccup. Called four times to speak with a Customer Relationship Agent (sic). Spent hours on the phone. Bottom line, two weeks later the problem has still not been resolved. Written to the complaints department. What a farce. All I got was a reply stating one law after another basically saying nothing. My goodness me, I feel sorry for those customers with complicated matters giving they cannot resolve mine (very simple they have to go in their system and delete one incorrect expense). But that is too much to ask!

Run a mile

Run a mile. Whatever you do, do not ever consider this bank, no matter what. You would be better putting your money in a kid's piggy bank.

For EIGHTEEN excruciating months I have shared our financial documentation with them (which is a legal requirement). We booked a flight to Spain to do it in person - they lost our documents, with barely a shrug of the shoulders. We sent the files to the email address they gave us, then followed up by asking who shared the email address because it was not recognised by anyone. Then they told me to upload mine and my partner's documents into my online profile. I did that too. I had to do this multiple times because their online system inexplicably did not have a'category' that related to legal documentation, so even though it was uploaded, the bank refused to recognise it. After 14 months we finally had it all resolved and they promised me they would never bother me with this again. Now, out of the blue they are harassing us again because the new rule, which was never mentioned once before, is that my husband his own documents into his own profile. They just keep making up new rules as they go along, each one more infuriating than the last. Each customer services rep assures me everything is done perfectly, until the next person tells me they were wrong. This really is the most infuriating company I have ever had the displeasure to deal with. It is literally run by children, with a system designed to cause maximum inconvenience.

Banco Sabadell broker service.

There is no other way of describing this broker service for buying stock as just outright stealing. I brought 20000 usd of stock. When I cashed it in I made 250 usd and the bank 1800 from charges and currency charges. Disgusting is what this is. Am so angry I am in the process of changing my bank
Don't go near these crooks.

Deliberately unhelpful

My wife's purse was stolen from her bag in a Spainish shopping centre. We cancelled all relevant cards while she was at the checkout within a very short time. Sanadell however authorised 2 payments stating that chip and pin was used for a company in bulgaria and it was therefore our fault so no refund will be granted. This despite 3 other bank cards were all refused payment. Both customer services and the branch told us that they CANNOT deal with it, it must be with fraud dept and only by email. They refused to provide any details of activity and said refer to cust services. We do not believe chip and pin was even used. Everyone passing the buck whilst my 370 euros remains stolen
So almost a week later, customer services and branch advise they have no power to help, fraud dept NOT responding to emails so only option was to make an official complaint but don't hold out much hope considering all the obstacles they put in your way. Amazing how someone can apparently make an fraudulant Instore purchase in bulgaria within a few minutes of card being stolen in spain and it's the custoners fault !!

I was with Cam bank before Sabadell…

I was with Cam bank before Sabadell took over. I knew a number of staff very well and they were very unhappy with the bank themselves.
They have consistently become worse and worse.
They have no interest in their clients at all and going by the unhappy and bad service in the bank, their own employees.
The bank charges are ridiculous.
The customer service is appalling as is trying to get an appointment in a branch.
I am leaving this bank immediately as 10 people I know personally have also done, and I would never recommend this bank to anybody.
Please stay clear, at least ask other customers or ex customers first.

I wish I could give minus stars, they don't deserve even 1

We have used this bank for some years and never had a good experience. The "helpline" is anything but - I have had a call terminated several times with no explanation, presumably when they got fed up with my request for help. Also, they invite you online to make an appointment a your branch to "avoid the queues" but when you arrive you are greeted with shrugs (if you are lucky), rudely ignored, or told to go to another branch. Recently we were scammed and a lot of money was taken from our account without 2 factor authorisation or any checks. They have done everything possible not to reimburse us, quoting various laws with no further explanation. Our lawyers told us that Spanish banks are a nightmare and advised they wouldn't waste our money in trying to pursue the matter. Eventually we were reimbursed 600 euros with no explanation - a fraction of what was stolen. The staff are rude (with one exception at our branch), inefficient, give incorrect information, and the website is a nightmare. Charges are high and can't be justified. The only reason we have not moved our account is because it took HOURS to even open the one with Sabadell and we thought it might be the same elsewhere; however after the recent experience we will definitely be looking at an alternative. Sabadell is truly awful, we resent having to give them our money to pay direct debits etc. We are keeping the balance at an absolute minimum now. We treasure our UK banks which seem to actually value their customers and treat them with respect.

Scum

If I can leave no star or even minus 3 I would.
They pushed me insure the house with them(over 600€ a year).
First time I’ve had to ask for some help as a locksmith(lock the key inside with very old dog who needs injections every 3 hours.
6 calls putting me on hold for 30-40min, saying they have no insurance on my name(I had to proof it )
Finally they said 3-4 hours to wait, I could no wait as long as they’ve asked.
Broke in now paying new window.
How pathetic!
STAY AWAY OF THIS DIABOLICAL PLACE!!!
