Selling crisps past their best before…

UPDATE.
Below is what BandM think of selling goods past their best before date!! My advice is BEWARE shopping there. They sent this:

The food standard agency advises, The best before date, sometimes shown as BBE (best before end), is about quality and not safety. After the best before date listed on a product, the food will be safe to eat but may not be at its best.

Foods with an expired best before/best before end can still be sold.
Selling crisps past their best before date. Contacted customer service who informed me this was totally acceptable and they could sell goods up to 0 days past their best before date. INCREDIBLE. Response was intent on justifying themselves and not at all concerned with my feeling that this is NOT acceptable. Have emailed CEO but no response despite reminder e mail.

Delivery a shambles

Not got a problem with B&M as such but until they stop using Evri as their delivery company I won’t be placing any more online orders. Evri are totally taking the p#ss just read the reviews. Parcels going missing all the time, damaged or delayed for weeks and just dumped on door steps etc. Get your act together B&M you should know better than to use these clowns!

Not The Cut Price Store It Used To Be

I know that retail prices are going up but B & M are now jumping on the bandwagon and are no longer competitive.

Take for instance today. I was about to buy my usual Cesar dog food which the supermarkets used to sell for £4.25 for an 8 pack. Supermarkets recently increased the price to £6 for the same pack. B & M have put the price up to £8 so if that's not profiteering what is.

I've also noticed that products advertised on their website cannot always be bought in store. I think this is just a ploy to get you into their stores.

Bought a parasol and stand on line

Bought a parasol and stand on line. The stand was delivered damaged and did not fit the parasol anyway. But getting a refund is a nightmare. Their telephone is never answered and they don't answer emails.
There is an address to send items back to (AT YOUR EXPENSE!!) but as they haven't sent a return label, etc. I have no confidence that they will issue a refund.
BASICALLY NEVER ORDER ANYTHING ON LINE FROM B AND M. THEY ARE A VERY DODGY COMPANY WITH APPALLING SERVICE.

Bad quality, bad customer service

I brought a number of storage boxes one of which has sharp plastic spikes on the bottom. It had been placed on my hallway and living room, and has scratched a recently newly laid laminate floor. B&M aknowledge the spikes on the box. However said it would not have scratched floor unless box was overfilled. The box was empty, I had just happened to move it along with others from one room to another! The box should not have been sold in that condition. B&M wont take any responsibility for the damage despite acknowledging the faulty spikes on the bottom! Cheap, not quality controlled and they dont care!
Your quality assurance department acknowledged the box has sharp spikes on it, why is this ok? Sending me a reply on here saying I have had a response from this team doesnt resolve the issues of my damaged floor does it?

Tried to return a faulty throw

Bought a throw - golden one for a new bed. It was shedding to the point it made my son sneeze. I didn't expect it to shed to be fair and unfortunately threw away the receipt. Anyway I tried to exchange today for a suitable other throw which I'd bought at the same time which was not shedding. I explained to the manager that it was affecting my sons breathing but she said without a receipt she would not exchange and to top it made the excuse of Covid because it had made my son sneeze. I think this was a bit of an extreme reaction given that the throw was faulty and my son doesn't have Covid!! Deeply upset they did not follow consumer law due to it being a faulty item. They had loads of the same throws in their store so it was pretty obvious it was a genuine situation. I'm surprised that the manager didn't note that the throws could create a health and safety issue for other customers and did not report it either. The throw was only 14.99 and I was willing to exchange one for a higher price. The assistant said it was a justified exchange and the manager overthrowed the decision. But if an item is faulty - keeps shedding - surely the company are legally obliged to provide a refund as the goods do not do what they are supposed to do i.e keep you warn without giving you breathing issues. So the store was Portlethen in Aberdeen and I went in today. Please do not buy their throws and ensure you have a receipt. The Covid excuse was pathetic.

Morph Droids extremely poor quality

The Morph Droids my son was bought for christmas were very poorly constructed with flimsy and brittle plastic (Chinese made). 1 of 3 broke within minutes and 2 of 3 was broken in the box. Extremely poor quality and very disappointing. They are definitely NOT for 8 year olds, the instructions to transform the Droids you cannot follow. The joints on the plastic pop out, they do not fit properly and are much to flimsy and fiddly for little fingers. Thankfully B and M changed them without a receipt for HASBRO Transformers which are far far better for a similar price.

Coronavirus hotspot?

Complained online to customer service and later emailed CEO without reply. Problem was staff behaviour at Burscough store where staff would rather attempt to spread coronavirus than do anything to stop it.

Some good and some not so good products…

Some good and some not so good products but no point in having disabled spaces because they just let anyone use them . Young Asian male and female pull straight into disabled parking spot and jumped out swifter than I have moved in last 20 years and straight into store . Staff at door wasn't interested in reporting to his manager. Find this disgusting behaviour anyway let alone the times we live in today. If anyone says "well ethnicity isn't relevant" well screw you it is because it's the truth.
