Milo cheeky chappy
We've been able to implement Milo's training around our lives. I've got a recording as well as images of the session for me to look back on. They give an emergency strategy for when things get difficult.
Having a dog with reactive behaviour…
Having a dog with reactive behaviour struggles is hard, and overwhelming . I appreciated Dr. A's thoroughness in the taking history with no judgement. She asked detailed questions and let me explain so that she could fully understand everything about my dog. It is a big relief to have a plan in place now and well understood. I feel reassured with the contact support, video instructions and follow up plan.
Behavets have been life changing.
I cannot recommend Behavets highly enough. From start to finish, the support, understanding and professionalism shown towards both me and my reactive dog has been exceptional.
Living with a reactive dog can feel isolating and overwhelming at times, but the team made me feel listened to, supported and never judged. Their knowledge and calm, compassionate approach gave me the confidence and practical tools needed to truly understand my dog’s behaviour rather than simply trying to manage it.
The progress we have made has been incredible. Walks are less stressful, my dog is far more settled, and most importantly our bond and trust has grown massively. The advice was realistic, tailored to our situation and delivered with genuine care for both mine and my dog’s wellbeing.
If you are struggling with a reactive dog, Behavets are absolutely worth every penny. A truly 5 star service that has made a huge difference to our lives. Thank you so much!
Excellent Results for Rescued Animals
I run a rescue charity in NE England and use Behavet for the dogs in my care (and a few cats too). I have used the services of Behavet for around 8 years now - the latest consultation was on the 10th May 2026 for a traumatised little dog who has lost her companions. The methods they use work. The support is excellent. They are value for money, even for a not-for-profit charity, and help to make our animals much more adoptable, 100% recommend them.
Started using Behavet for my reactive…
Started using Behavet for my reactive Cockerspaniel but left only a few months later dealing with worse behavioural habits. I paid directly through petplan but was shocked to see the amount they charged for a monthly consult by zoom where my dog was not seen at any point and the same basic advise was given regarding the bucket theory and other easy to find advise was given. Having used absolute dogs previously I was hoping for more knowledge given the drastic price difference. I was deeply disappointed that when I expressed my dogs behaviour was worsening with these methods I was just told to persist. The meetings were only offered on one date and time and if you can’t make that time you have to wait a further 4weeks to progress. I expressed my need to cancel and no questions were asked.
Since then I reached out to a local ABTC clinical behaviourist who I was also able to pay for through insurance but at a much lower price. They support me in person and on walks to see and correct the issue at hand using positive reinforcement techniques.
I would not recommend anyone to use behavet for reactivity. They push for a review after the first consult (before you know the outcome/tried their training) but not after any follow ups.

Dr Ellie was absolutely amazing.
Dr Ellie was absolutely amazing and came up with doable solutions to my dog's behaviour issues. She was very patient with me and explained things very simply with solutions to our problems. Behavet are very efficient and thorough. I would definitely recommend them.
Top class service and expertise
I've used Behavet over the years as It's my first port of call for behavioural issues. I have a border collie who has had difficult reactivity to dogs, humans and livestock. Until this year, he was at a place where he could happily be in the house with a large group of people and interact with dogs off lead and enjoy having doggy friends. I could not have got him here without Behavet. Recently, he has developed a flare up of his arthritis and his behaviour deteriorated to the extent that I was quite despondent. Behavet to the rescue! I had a wonderful consultation with Dr Aston Ellis, a plan was developed and we adjusted his pain management with the assistance of my vet. We've made adjustments at home and now a couple of weeks later we can see improvements in his comfort and his behaviour. Yes it can be slow but noticing the little things all builds up and it helps me to see the work I'm putting in is paying off in terms of my dog's enjoyment of life and the reduction of household stress. The service from the admin team is great and my emails are passed on and Dr Aston comes back with comments/ recommendations. It really is a top class service and I would highly recommend it
Excellent Service
I have two dogs both with different struggles, we have worked with Behavet for a while and my boys are so different with there help, there struggles are now small things that we are tweaking so that they are able to cope with the world better. The team are awesome, giving clear easy to follow solutions and always explaining why they may have that struggle. we have I cannot recommend the team highly enough and don't know what we would do without them.
The Doctor was nice
The Doctor was nice, took a long time on the initial consultation. Unfortunately, she recommended 2 medications for my dog. I did not expect this on the initial appointment. I do understand why she recommended the medication. The Dr. told me my dog would still be able to work (sheep herding, play games, do training) on the medication. My dog had negative reaction to the medication, he was barely awake and had difficulty walking. He would not respond to me. I stoped the medication. I was not comfortable continuing with BehaVet, so I canceled further appointments.
If we had not had such a bad experience with the medication, I would have continued longer. I was excited to work with BehaVet.

Loved our first appointment
Loved our first appointment.
Dr Celyn was so attentive and friendly.
Looking forward to getting started with our new plan.
Thank you Heather and Behavet!
I had my first appointment with Behavet’s Dr Heather because I need help with Bailey, my superactive Cockapoo. Behavet tracked town all his veterinary records going back to his puppyhood.
Heather had gone through these as well as the detailed assessment form I completed for Behavet.
She went through these, and supplementary questions, on our first consultation and her insights were incredibly helpful.
I came away with a huge sense of relief and confidence that I can at last help Bailey find the peace and gain the confidence he needs, and deserves.
I’ve already recommended Heather and Behavet to my very close friends and I look forward to receiving the follow up recording of the meeting as well as the notes and training videos Heather promised.
We came to Behavet already in crisis…
We came to Behavet already in crisis with our young dog after months of severe behavioural difficulties and concerns around safety and bite risk. Behavioural euthanasia had already been raised to us before starting, so we made it very clear how serious the situation was and how emotionally burnt out we already were given my complex health conditions.
Over the following months we followed the advice provided consistently even though we had already been doing most of what was suggested and completely reshaped our lives around management recommendations, containment, trigger avoidance and “bucket emptying.” We’ve avoided people, environments and normal daily experiences almost entirely in the hope this would help him decompress and improve like told. Unfortunately, despite the huge emotional, physical and financial investment, our puppies behaviour progressively worsened rather than improved.
Now after months of being with Behavet, our pups reactions have still escalated to a level we had never experienced before. He’s become increasingly fearful around people, unable to cope with unavoidable situations, more reactive to movement and noise inside the home, and began displaying more behaviours towards us on a daily basis. We ultimately experienced our first bite incident that drew blood. Most distressing of all, he has stopped being able to properly switch off or settle during the day and seems trapped in a constant state of stress and conflict despite advice.
We fully appreciate that he is a complex case involving both behavioural and pain-related components, and we understand there are never guaranteed outcomes in behaviour work. However, we do feel deeply disappointed by the overall lack of progression in approach over such a prolonged period of time, particularly given how severe our situation was made clear to be from the beginning. We just kept getting the same advice near enough every month all coming off video links.
We have repeatedly communicated concerns that he appeared to be deteriorating despite strict adherence to recommendations, and we personally felt stuck in indefinite management and avoidance without enough practical skill-building or meaningful improvement in day-to-day life. We also repeatedly raised concerns regarding medication due to him previously reacting badly to sedative-type medications and becoming more distressed and hyperaroused rather than calmer yet it’s been pushed on us every time including our most recent interaction with a senior clinician.
One of the most difficult parts of this experience was feeling unsupported during urgent periods of escalation. Behavet promotes that support is always available, however over the last few months when we reached out during crisis situations involving severe deterioration and now bite incidents, we often waited days for responses or our main clinician was unavailable. Given the level of risk and distress we had repeatedly communicated, this left us feeling extremely alone while trying to manage a dangerous and emotionally exhausting situation.
The impact this experience has had on our lives has been enormous. We spent near enough thousands of pounds through insurance claims pursuing behavioural support while simultaneously becoming more isolated, emotionally overwhelmed and fearful in our own home. My own health conditions are significantly affected by the stress of living in such a high-alert environment every day. We’re living around constant management and anticipation of reactions and he hasnt ever been given the opportunity to learn how to feel differently and is missing out on significant opportunities for confidence building and socialisation in his teenage stage.
We do not believe the clinicians lacked compassion, and we appreciate that they were dealing with a very difficult case. However, for us personally, the experience ultimately left us in a significantly worse emotional and practical position than when we first sought help. We are heartbroken by where things have ended up and cannot honestly say that the support we received improved either his quality of life or our own. Given the fact all of this is online too without any proper assessment of your dog or in person support I would save up and not return.

Best Behavioural Team
My personal dog trainer Dr Bridget is incredible. I had my first consultation and it has already been very informative and helpful. The trainer also works around your personal schedule making sure not to load to much at once and also does not expect everything to go perfect all at once. I highly recommend this Behavioural team!
Had our first consultation with Dr…
Had our first consultation with Dr Natalie and it was brilliant. The way she explained the reasons for Bailey's current behaviour made things fall into place and become clear and easier to understand. Dr Natalie reassured me that Bailey's behaviour is quite common for her age and can easily be worked on.
The service from Behavet has been fantastic and seamless from the moment I made an initial enquiry.
I'm looking forward to further consultations with Dr Natalie and feel confident that we can help Bailey with her separation anxiety and resource guarding.

Booked training for reactive dog
Booked train for reactive dog. They gave some information and 2 consultations, which cost more then £1000. Insurance covers it but is not worth it, better find real not online behaviorist as this will not help much and the cost are too much too! This is only for 2.5 houra online consultation and some videos sent to email.
