Extremely frustrating experience with Belong as a landlord.
Communication is incredibly slow, and it is very difficult to connect with anyone beyond the assigned “concierge.” Nobody else seems empowered to help, which creates a bottleneck for even basic issues.
Instead of simplifying property management, they became an added layer of friction between the tenant and us as owners. Whenever a maintenance request came in, I still had to personally figure everything out myself.
I’ve been trying to terminate my management agreement for the past 4 weeks, and there has still not been a proper handoff of documents or transition process. I also still do not have access to the owner portal despite asking repeatedly for several days.
The biggest shock: today I learned they apparently never collected a traditional security deposit from the tenants — despite us previously being told there was approximately one month’s rent held as a deposit. As a landlord, that is deeply concerning. If major damage happens, what exactly is the protection process?
Overall, the experience has felt disorganized, unclear, and unnecessarily difficult.

Our move-in experience with Belong Property Management has been one of the most frustrating rental experiences we’ve had.
We moved into the property with missing exterior door keys, no mailbox key, confusion around garage access, unresolved repair issues, exposed wiring in the garage, detached door hardware, and multiple condition concerns throughout the home. Many of these issues were identified immediately during move-in, yet we spent weeks going back and forth between multiple departments trying to get basic items acknowledged and addressed.
Belong heavily emphasizes their Inspectify move-in process, requiring tenants to spend significant time documenting photos, notes, and property conditions. However, after completing the extensive walkthrough and submitting concerns through both Inspectify and the Belong app, we repeatedly found ourselves having to re-explain, re-document, and re-submit the same issues over and over again. It felt less like a supported move-in process and more like we were performing the property management company’s quality control responsibilities ourselves.
Communication was fragmented with constant handoffs between team members, and many responses focused more on explaining internal processes than actually resolving problems. Even nearly 3 weeks after move-in, we are still dealing with unresolved maintenance concerns and appliance issues, including an oven malfunction.
The most disappointing part is that many of these issues should have been identified and resolved before the home was ever listed as “move-in ready.” As tenants paying premium rental rates, we expected a home that was properly prepared, professionally cleaned, and fully functional on day one.
To be fair, individual representatives like Belen were polite and responsive once involved, but the overall operational process and move-in standards fell far below expectations.
I would strongly encourage anyone considering Belong to run the other way and do not look back.

Don’t trust this company!! Hard to get hold of, too mangers that don’t know what hell they’re doing and short staff that actually do the work. Gives the run around. Would not recommend especially in the Bay Area.

Belen has been fantastic! I recently disconnected my internet service at a rental property and needed to return the provider’s equipment. She coordinated directly with the tenant and made sure the equipment was returned to me. Also, I'm renting my 2nd property, and I've had such a positive experience with my rental properties. We’ve had a very positive experience with Belong so far. The move-in process was smooth, communication has been clear, and the team has been very attentive and helpful whenever we’ve needed assistance. Vanessa and the support staff have been wonderful to work with and have made us feel truly welcomed in our new home.
We also appreciate that they take the time to personally check in with residents to make sure everything is going well. It really shows that they care about their tenants’ experience.
Great experience thus far. I can’t wait to move in & make this place our new home.

These guys seem to have run call centers and evolved to self promote them as property managers
The two stars is because they do respond to emails but most often clueless of what’s going on
