Similar experience to others on here - AVOID!

Similar experience to others on here. Fortunately only signed up to a 3 month subscription but only received 2. The two I did get were really late and had almost identical contents. Such a shame as I’d had a subscription in the past which was great but this has gone really downhill. Avoid.

Absolutely appalling. I’ve paid my February subscription and still haven’t received the box. No contact number so can’t talk directly to a representative of the company and their email response is nil. Avoid like the proverbial!

Unfortunately 0 star is not an option !!!!!!

I would give 0 star if possible.

This company is just a scam and just takes money without your consent by automatically renew your subscription without any email in advance.

I am waiting for an answer from them. I will file a dispute from my bank and do everything to get a refund because 1) the service is not what it used to be and 2) I don’t have 180£ for cosmetic that I can’t use.

If I could give no stars that world be a better representation.
Terrible customer service, they use AI obviously. They keep taking £15 out of my acc every month but I’m already two boxes behind that haven’t been sent. Then I randomly get a box delivered which has repeated below par items in it.
I signed up to 12 months in2022! So done with this crap company Looking into a way to make a proper complaint.

Birchbox UK do not subscribe

Got to be the worst subscription that you can’t get out of. Jan box still not arrived and money taken at beginning of Jan. do not sign up to this service. Trying to find a way to stop it. If anyone figures it out let me know. I’ve tried complaining saying they put up the price without me agreeing. A disgrace. Wonder when January box will arrive !

Fed up with this company

Fed up with this company. It’s become laughable. Novembers box didn’t arrive until the end of December, Decembers only came this week - nearly the end of Jan.
I got the advent calendar and the items are lovely but I now have 3 identical bottles of the hair mousse, 3 identical tubes of Jecca Blac highlighter drops, 3 identical lipsticks, 2 identical face sprays, 2 identical glass nail files and 2 identical lip glosses. Waiting on the last box of my subscription and then I will cancel.

First box was ok because it was a freebie nice products however I cancelled my monthly subscription because I thought it was too expensive to continue paying monthly £17 But then today I get a message saying that my Birchbox is being shipped I looked into cancelling it and it appears it’s non refundable I think that it’s too expensive however I recently sent an email to Birchbox asking them to cancel my subscription and for a refund if I was able to and the lady who replied was lovely and I got my money back after a day so thank you Birchbox just maybe lower the price a little

Absolute rubbish company. Do not touch them with a stick!

I haven’t been a customer for ages, however I got an email offering their 2023 advent calendar for free with a subscription, so I signed up.

As soon as I signed up I tried checking up about what was in the calendar and I realised it looks like their 2022 calendar which was rubbish in my opinion.

So I emailed them saying please cancel and refund my money.

No reply for 2 days and when I did get a reply it was a senior support leader, who tried telling me that this was their 2023 advent calendar and a lot of other rubbish and offering me a 10% code.

The actual advent calendar arrived and it has on the delivery note 2022 advent calendar. It is a disgraceful company. Would not touch.

On another note, I tried checking them out on companies house. And it’s very ambiguous as to whom owns it. And there are actually NO people listed.

STAY AWAY!

YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

New company is trying

Like everybody else last summer I brought a years pre paid subscription and only received 1 box then nothing . Despite emails etc I’d given up on getting money or anything back.
Then when I saw they had been brought out and were advertising again I contacted them asking for my money back.
They ended up giving me a code for the 11 remaking boxes. I was very wary as a I had to put my bank details in to get that but so far 2 boxes have arrived and they haven’t taken any extra money.
Yes the boxes haven’t been fab but I’m hoping they will improve and it’s something when I thought I’d get nothing. Worth persevering with them if the old company owe you .

Absolute rip off

The service getting replacements for missing orders from last year was relatively satisfactory, but the “new” Birchbox is awful. I’ve been a subscriber from the very first box but I’ve left now. They’ve whacked the price of the box up to £17 - I was previously paying £10. If the box had high end or full size products, I’d not have a problem, but they’ve literally just been filling the boxes with random old products. God only knows how long they’ve been sat there. With the exception of a couple of products, I’ve had every single thing they’ve sent. I still can’t get over them charging £17. Oh, and the so-called 15% VIP discount? Didn’t work.

Awful! New owners are bad.

People know what happened with them, I had been a member for years, I would even pre-order their advent calendar, I was charged for their advent calendar last year (they went bust a couple of weeks later), I never got a refund for it. They restarted my subscription without asking me first, I've been charged for three boxes and only received one. Have sent multiple emails to them and only received one reply saying 'I don't believe that this happened.' Awful company.

Appalling service
Despite agreeing my account was closed, I have now received notification of a further order being dispatched.
I am beyond furious that
1 my account was suspended October 22 with no communications until May this year.
2 it is felt to be satisfactory fulfilment of my previous account to send me an advent calendar in September - with the same frankly disappointing samples now included in monthly boxes
3 that despite previous communications my account is being reactivated.

0 Stars. Company re-started subscription after having cancelled 14 months ago. E mails unanswered. Reported to bank who have refunded money and are taking it further. Possible data protection breach, no one authorised the taking of money from my bank. Avoid, avoid, avoid! They are completely dishonest. I would check all other reviews before going anywhere near this company.

Wow what a chopsy company ..

Wow what a chopsy company ... this company has ripped me off over the lockdown I orders 2 calenders 2 years ago and didn't recieve them costing nearly £200 no money back from them no birch boxes but still continued to take my monthly sunmbscription so I cancelled with my bank and stopped all payments .... birchbox have reinstated the direct debit without my consent and started sending me these boxes where I can not choose what goes in them as according to birchbox I do not have an account ..... well I've been robbed by birchbox enough over the last 3 years and their trying to do it again .... I don't want your ribbing crap I use elemis, which actually works and does not rob from you, so I have been to trading standards and my solicitor as this can not go on any longer .... Where's all the money you robbed from me over a space of 3 years, guys ?

Just an update about shitbox ... finally sent me an email only telling me I do not have an account in this email they have been sending messages too they are also taking money from my account which they took today for nearly £40 for 2 boxes I didn't ask for ... who told them they could go back into my bank account and take money out to send me garbage I do not want and certainly didn't ask for I use ellemis now that does bloody work so I cancel my non existing account and leave me alone and stop stealing my money

My subscription has suddenly been reinstated after not having anything from them for over a year. I have tried to log in to my account to cancel but I’m getting a message saying no account found despite entering the email address which they have corresponded with me, so I am unable to cancel my subscription. I’ve cancelled payments to that company via my credit card and would advise anyone else to do the same. I did receive goods that the payment was taken for but I don’t want them

Birchbox UK is not what it used to be

Birchbox UK is not what it used to be. The company has used devious and deceitful behavior to receive payment from old subscribers.

They apparently sent out boxes in July (I haven't received mine due to my address changing & the 2 emails they've sent in the past year saying that you only need to update your address if you're owed boxes from your old subscription). Then in August, they billed me for a 6-month subscription on a debit card that has expired. They are now claiming that I cannot get a refund because I've received my first box.

I'm really saddened that the company has turned to this. I was a loyal Birchbox subscriber for years, and now the company has become a disappointment and should not be used. I can't imagine it's going to stay in business for much longer.

No stars whatsoever. Why have they relaunched??? They should be shut down indefinitely. I paid for a years worth last year and only received 6 months worth. Since relaunching they sent out emails saying they are back up and running and will be fulfilling unsent boxes. I’ve not received one box yet and they have tried to take another years worth out of my bank! luckily my bank rejected this as I had previously made them aware that I didn’t want them taking anymore money from me. Someone please shut this company down before they do more of us over.

Terrible

Terrible! After years of buying a one-year gift subscription for my friend this went wrong last year as described by other reviews. I’m embarrassed as she only received three boxes last year then when we had written the whole thing off they sent a Yodel tracking number and promises to send missing boxes. Three months on still nothing. Online account not working, no communication and my bank says too late for a chargeback. What a scam.
