Someone hacked my account and made sub accounts

Someone hacked my account through Bluebird Visa MetaBank of South Dakota. I called them and talked to the fraud protection people. They told me my account was locked and they couldn't touch it or get into my account. Well the hacker stole money off me. so far he's up to over $1,000. he stole it from me after changing my email address- password- and making several sub accounts and had debit card sent to his address or some he knew and then went to a ATM in the Florida area after getting my money. after been waiting for the card to come in the mail- he got that card also in FL. on the phone again with Bluebird- after all the running around with agent. had them FEDEX me a card at $20. 2days I got the new card by Fedex truck yesterday and hacker got more money out of my account that same day after saying the account had a special code and nosome could access account it now. that was BULL. now they're saying I have to wait 45 days to dispute the charges. now I have another dispute pending. I think that Bluebird Visa has poor Customer Service and very unprofessional service and everyone you talk to at Bluebird has a different way of handling your issue on the phone. just waiting for the days til I get my money back. also made a Police report and there noone who talks English.. I hate talking to a foreign person. cant understand what they said- have to ask them to repeat themself- also they are rude foreign people and they love to hang up on you.

Illegal operations

I never received the original debit card or the replacement one I requested. When I called them, they proceeded to expedite the card without informing me of a $20 fee and refuse to give it back. Just because it's legal in the Phillippines doesn't mean it's legal in the US. Refused to get me to a manager.

They stole my money

My debit card expired and my new card was lost in the mail. I called to get a new one. My account was also locked. They told me they would send an email didn't say for what. That didn't happen. I called again today and they said they can't say why my account was locked. Also, the only way I can get a replacement card is to put my cell phone number and address in the public records. I was informed I had to go to the Post Office to do it. I went there and the gentleman working there looked at me weird for asking that. Then he told me that they don't do that. I don't want my address and number in the public records. I just moved to get out of an abusive relationship and I don't want to make it easier for them to find me. What can I do?

Stay away from this company

Stay away from this company. They refuse to refund fraudulent charges. The whole point of being FDIC insured is to protect consumers. This company will not do that. I learned my lesson the hard way. I will no longer be doing business with them.

I got an account because I needed small fees paid every day

I got an account because I needed something I could reload and that did not charge fees. I had previously used a credit card for a very specific recurring charge that happened nearly every day (transportation) and I HAVE to use some type of card, and I didn't want the company that was making the charges have access to large amounts of funds. So this seemed to be a good fit. It was for a few months because I could use my debit card to transfer additional funds as needed (always keeping my balance below $60). However, when my bank made a slight name change, they sent me a new debit card. Not a big deal, right? Just go in and adjust the information. I did it for every place that had my info, which in reality wasn't very many places; I don't store my info with my electric company, even. But Bluebird FREAKED OUT. They said that changing my info was fraudulent and shut everything down. I have the card in front of me, verified everything, explained the name change, it's not that difficult. But I am still on hold and have been for, man, I don't know, 45 minutes now? They insisted they are calling my bank because it's not good enough that I have all of the info. And I already called them for 30 minutes this morning before I had to leave for an appointment. Oh, and I already used my card at 8 major vendors. No one else thinks that my bank doesn't exist. Target hasn't grabbed back their boxes of Kleenex, saying that the swipe didn't go through. Absolutely ridiculous. I provided all of the correct information and it's taking hours to say I told you so. It isn't fraudulent to provide correct information.

Edit: After the first 45 minutes of being on hold, the CSR hung up on me without ever coming back on the line. So I have had to call back again and start the process over and anticipate more hold time. Much more.

Final edit: They kept me on the phone for 3 hours, and made me repeat my address, phone number and name repeatedly. They didn't care one bit that my bank sent a new card because they had a slight name change. They decided that I was a criminal and made me recite this information over, and over, and over again. At one point one of the reps came on the line and told ME it was taking too long, and to call back another time. I told them absolutely not. They were the ones insisting that the info on the bank card plus the info I repeatedly verified wasn't enough. 3 hours wasted. What did they expect to happen, I move to a new address during the call? I was certainly on the phone long enough.

Absolutely terrible - WASTE OF TIME & MONEY!

Absolutely terrible. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME!! I received my card and could not add money to it! They told me to contact my bank. When I asked what do I need to ask my bank, their rep just said “contact them”. NOT HELPFUL AT ALL. I tried logging in today and they permanently suspended my account?? I canceled/closed my account all together. Super sketchy. I expected more from AMEX.

DO NOT GET AMERICAN EXPRESS BLUEBIRD…

DO NOT GET AMERICAN EXPRESS BLUEBIRD PREPAID CARD. Do not. If you go to a hotel, and a transaction is voided, BlueBird will still charge you. And charge you 20% of YOUR MONEY. Then the merchant has to email them to release the funds, because BlueBird doesn’t trust their customers. AND The merchant HAS TO EMAIL THEM TO RELEASE YOUR FUNDS. They need a company letter head, the card number, your name date of transaction, and so one.

If you do not have the merchant email them with the above information, they will hold your money for up to 30 days!!!!!

IT IS ABSURD! They treat their customers like criminals. STAY FAR FAR AWAY.

Stay far far away

Stay far far away! Little to no customer service and they have EXTREMELY poor business practices. They wild hold refunds on your card for 8 days and try to pass it off as if it’s the merchants fault. They will add 10% onto all of your charges until the actual charge amount clears. I cancelled my account months ago and was issued a refund from my bank for an extra loan payment. They refunded it to my Bluebird card before I could tell them that the card had been cancelled and these people actually allowed the refund to go through and held it for 8 days!!! On a cancelled card! Do NOT make thd mistake of getting this card!!!

I have had the AMEX Bluebird card 10…

I have had the AMEX Bluebird card 10 years now and never ever had any major issues......until NOW!!!!! On August 25th, I went to check my account online just to make sure my direct deposit went through. It did go through, but that was AFTER I discovered 4 separate ATM withdrawals totaling $750 plus fees were done at a location in Brooklyn NY. I neither live nor work anywhere near the location of the withdrawals and anytime I used the ATM to take cash out was ALWAYS at a machine where no fees are incurred. I have now twice sent over a "declaration of fraud" form and I have now been shot down twice. AMEX Bluebird customer service and fraud divisions are clearly located on the other side of the world with people using Americanized names. All this time I thought I was considered a loyal customer, but apparently AMEX has a different opinion on loyalty and they obviously could care less when people lose their hard earned money to criminals who I am all but certain used an ATM card skimmer to compromise my account.

Four months ago someone took almost my…

Four months ago someone took almost my entire social security check from my Bluebird account. I usually check my account daily because I have been scammed so many times, but I got busy and didn’t check it for almost a week. When I did I had $9 I my account. When I looked at my transactions I had three transaction that were not mine. Two right after my check was deposited. 1 for $23, which looked like a test withdrawal and another one for $500 for cash both from an ATM in a city, Orangevale , Ca, where I never go. I used my account for $80 worth of gas and another small purchase. A week ( maybe) I wanted to make sure of my balance and I went in and I had $9. I had a transaction for $530 from Target in orangevale. Called blue bird and told them what happened. I had to fill out a Fraud Declaration sheet. The only problem was I didn’t actually look at the $523 withdrawal until I hung up, and I couldn’t get in touch with the fraud office, after 4-5 calls so I write that claim on the fraud sheet with the Target purchase, but because I didn’t personally tell them but wrote it on the fraud Declaration they said I had to do a separate sheet. I actually did 3 filing and they keep saying I made a mistake and took my own money and they will not return the money that was taken out of the ATM. I’m sure the same persons took my money because all transactions were in orange vale , CA. I’ve been trying to get my money back since June, but they keep saying I took my own money. I really need an attorney. I’ve been victimized twice and they have been ruthless to return my money.

It's horrible. Basically a scam

I've had this card for years. I no longer use it. It essentially devolved into a very well-branded scam and no longer serves any single purpose.

Additionally the app for this card is probably the worst I've ever had to use for any financial service

I need someone in the US who…

I need someone in the US who understands how banks work here. I fill up at the pump and paid their. I SWIPED MY CARD ONCE and at first it charged me the whole amount that I had available, $129.49, then once I replaced the nozzle it changed to ONE charge of $45.82. And it was pending for that amount all day. Then the next day I'm overdraw,, that's because even though the COMPLETED transaction has posted, there is STILL A DAMN AUTHORIZATION HOLD FOR THE SAME AMOUNT OF $45.82!!!!! I call the so called BLUEBIRD CUSTOMER SERVICE, and they are telling that the card was charged more than once. I am like no it wasn't you weren't there, I was and I only swiped once! I asked for a manager to call me back and I'm told it will be 2 hours. We'll I never got a call back. That's just great, and now I have to wait 8 to 30 DAYS!!!!! I will definitely be closing this account in 30 days. THIS IS STRAIGHT BS!!!!

Yesterday I deposited 700$ at Walmart on my bluebird card. I go try to withdrawal money from atm. Error message, I tried 6 different ATM's none worked. I called bluebird customer service and kept getting the run around. Tried buying something with my card still wouldn't work. I even tried to transfer my own money to Walmart customer service and the customer service people said my reference number was invalid. Now all bluebird reps could do is take 20.00 from me to expedite a new card. If I lose all my money im gonna lose my mind. They can't get away with this. I've already have an open investigation on this fraud bank.
