We bought into Bluegreen in 2022. We were just curious about the free gifts they were offering us, but we ended up getting pulled into a pushy sales room that lasted hours. The worst part happened when we actually tried to use it. When you go on vacation they make you go to more meetings and heavily pressure you into upgrading. The sales reps flat-out told us that if we upgraded, it would put us at a "different level" and make it easy to sell the timeshare back to them if we ever wanted out. That was a complete lie. When we later tried to exit, they just brushed us off to a third-party company with zero guarantees. Fees are completely out of control. The system barely works. This timeshare has been nothing but a huge stressor.

Total scam. Bluegreen will trick you into signing contracts with fake promises and then hold you hostage with a $10k+ cancellation fee, even though they sold you a timeshare package that does not work. You are much better off just paying for a normal hotel or rental. THEY ARE A TRAP!

Do not trust Bluegreen Vacations. Our experience has been a total nightmare. It started with a high-pressure sales pitch that lasted way longer than the promised 90 minutes. They made false promises about easy travel to Hawaii, yet we’ve had to pay out of pocket for those trips because their system is so restrictive and expensive.12345

When we tried to cancel, customer service just gave us the runaround. A representative named Andrew claimed our contract was "unable to be canceled," but then threatened that they would cancel it themselves after six months of collection calls if we stopped paying. They are clearly dragging this out while demanding we pay off the balance plus 18 months of extra fees for a product we can’t use. We have already filed complaints with the BBB, BCA, and FTC. Bluegreen, show some professional courtesy and terminate this agreement now. Everyone else, please stay away!

When I bought into Bluegreen Vacations over 10 years ago, I was sold the dream of vacations for life with very little expense once my mortgage was paid off. I was promised that having more points meant better perks, like being able to book 12 months in advance and getting waivers so I could cancel reservations without paying penalty fees. Unfortunately, the reality has been exhausting.

Instead of actually enjoying my time, I am hounded to attend sales meetings every single time I stay at a property. They constantly try to bait me with Visa and MasterCard gift cards or discounted tickets to local attractions just to get me in a room. Even the day I purchased the timeshare was incredibly high-pressure. I was talking to one sales rep, but the second I hesitated to commit, a "supervisor" swooped right in and aggressively started the conversation with, "What can we do to close this deal?"

Even now that I’m dealing with some very serious health issues, Bluegreen doesn’t seem to care at all. This company will trap you.

My wife and I signed up for a Bluegreen timeshare 'vacation ' in New Orleans at Cabella's in Texas. We went to the 'presentation 'on a Sunday morning. We own a timeshare so we knew how it went. Our sales person was Kelly. She also gave the presentation. She was a bit over the top ridiculous. A 40 year old woman who kept saying 'what what' like she was in her 20s. Sad. We sat down and her manager came by and some nasty remark about the music being too loud which I thought was rude. Little did I know. We went through the general presentation getting us all hyped up. We went back to her desk for the rest of the presentation. At the end, I looked on trustpilot for reviews. Of the 357 reviews, 93% were 1 star. I told Kelly 'No' because their reviews were so bad. I was told they were wrong. They weren't owners, and then proceeded to try to show me the 'good' reviews. I told her I didn't care. I wasn't going to buy. Kelly got agitated immediately and told me I was rude for being on my phone during the presentation. I told her I was looking up reviews. I said no again, and asked what I needed to do to leave. The paper was given to the manager. He then attempted to continue the conversation trying to sell the timeshare. The conversation devolved and he came out from behind the counter as I asked 'is this the way you run your organization?' He came face to face with me. I asked if he was going hit me...I thought he might. We finally got our prepaid card and began walking out. I heard him coming up behind me. He said he was escorting me out, as I was walking out. He open the door for us and told us to leave. These people (new orleans) were the most rude, confrontational timeshare people I've ever had the displeasure of encountering. Stay far far far away from these people. Its a scam.

Bluegreen lied. They sold us a timeshare as an investment that I’d easily be able to use, but the truth is, you can never book anything! I haven't been able to use it a single time in my years of owning it! Do yourself a favor and just go on regular vacations instead.

Buying into Bluegreen is a big mistake. They will lure you in with free gifts, only to trap you in a sales room with their relentless staff. The points that we bought were never enough to take vacations like they told us we could, then the only option they give you is to spend more money. Even after upgrading, it is incredibly difficult to get a reservation unless you can plan a full year in advance. The fees have never stopped going up over the past few years. Save your money and steer clear of Bluegreen.

We contacted Bluegreen hoping to find a responsible way out of our timeshare after explaining that the costs have become too much for us in retirement. Between rising maintenance fees, health issues making travel difficult, and relying mostly on Social Security, we were simply asking for guidance and possible exit options.
What made this even more frustrating was being told the only real option was to default on payments. That is not a solution anyone should be pushed toward after years of paying and trying to handle things responsibly.
We were not asking for special treatment, only clear communication and realistic options. Instead, the experience left us feeling ignored and stuck with a financial burden we can no longer manage.

When you travel with Bluegreen, you should expect that they will make you attend very high pressure sales meetings. They sold us on the idea of using affiliated RV campgrounds which has turned out to be incredibly complicated to figure out, and the locations were not appealing. Over the years, our maintenance fees have doubled, and it is basically impossible to book the places we actually want to visit, even when we try well in advance. We’ve even ended up losing points just because we couldn't use them as planned. I can’t see how these timeshares would fit anyone's lifestyle. Bluegreen has become a massive financial burden with very little value for the money spent. We feel trapped. Stay away!

I purchased a package a few years ago, it was crap. Now, for the past 6 months they have been hounding me to buy again. I've spoken to "supervisors" and "managers" to have them remove my number from their call lists. They phone everyday sometimes more than once. At this point, it's harassment. The most recent "manager" I spoke to, claimed to be at the top of the pecking order with only the owner above him. The name he provided me with was "Calvin". I said, "the calls keep waking me up when I'm trying to god damn sleep for my graveyard shift." When I told him to stop talking over me, and to just listen and to take my number off call lists, he told me to "eff off" and that he was going to hang up on me. Then proceeded to tell me to "eff off" 3 more times before he hung up.

We bought into Bluegreen about twenty years ago after attending a presentation for a sampler program. They hooked us with the promise of gift cards and a four-night cruise, but the actual sales meetings were exhausting, usually dragging on for almost three hours. The sales reps we dealt with were very high pressure, constantly telling us we were missing out or that prices were about to jump, and they would always bring over a manager to offer some kind of limited-time special deal. Looking back, a lot of the promises they made during those pitches just never matched the reality of what ownership actually looked like.

Over the years, Bluegreen has turned into a financial burden more than anything else. The maintenance fees have absolutely skyrocketed. Steer clear of Bluegreen Vacations, the bills never stop going up!

Don't fall for it! We went to Bluegreen’s presentation years back because we were newlyweds looking for a smart way to take regular family vacations. They lured us into a meeting with the promise of a free cruise (which we never actually got to use) and kept us trapped there almost all day. The sales reps were super pushy, wouldn't let us leave to research it, and flat out lied to us by saying we could easily sell the timeshare back to the company whenever we wanted.

We did manage to use it a few times, but it’s been a massive bait-and-switch. The rooms we actually got were completely subpar compared to the luxurious ones they showed us on the tour. On top of that, booking anything is impossible because there is never any availability unless you pump even more money into their points system. Meanwhile, our maintenance fees just keep skyrocketing while they actually take away our perks. This thing has become nothing but a huge source of financial stress for my family. Book your own vacations!

Bluegreen Vacations will Fnnn steal your money, avoid them like the biggest stink you ever smelled.
Please stay away from any time share sales thrift of stealing your money. Stay at a pay as you go resort.

I really regret ever attending that first Bluegreen sales pitch. We went because it was raining on our vacation and they offered us a small gift, but the meeting dragged on way longer than promised and we ended up buying in. Over the years, we were heavily pressured into several upgrades with promises that the timeshare was a great investment, that it could be sold easily like a house deed, and that we could rent out our points to cover our maintenance fees. All of that turned out to be false. When we actually tried to rent out our points exactly like the sales reps suggested, Bluegreen locked us out of our account and basically told us it was our problem that their employees lied. On top of the terrible customer service, it is nearly impossible to book a vacation unless you plan well over a year in advance just to sit on a waitlist. Now, the maintenance fees have skyrocketed and become a massive financial burden for our family. We are actively trying to exit the contract, and they absolutely refuse to work with us or take it back. Do yourself a favor and stay far away from this company.

Do not trust Bluegreen Vacations. We got roped in by their sales representatives at a Bass Pro Shop. They held us in a three hour sales meeting. They completely misled us. The reps showed us luxury cabins but actually sold us a lower-tier package, and they promised I could easily book places like Gulf Shores, which turned out to be totally false.

We’ve sunk endless money into Bluegreen and have barely been able to use it. The maintenance fees have continually gone up over the years. Do not fall for their sales tactics..it’s a complete waste of money.

We got roped into a Bluegreen presentation through a Bass Pro Shops deal back in 2013, and it has turned into a massive headache. We’ve sunk over endless amounts of money into this timeshare over the years. Bluegreen’s sales reps are aggressive and pushy. They pressured us into an upgrade by promising it would fix our booking issues and give us better availability, but that was a complete lie. It is still nearly impossible to book where we want to go. They also misled us about the maintenance fees. We were promised they would only increase slightly, but they have increased drastically over the years. Between the impossible booking, the fees that increase every year, and the way they pressure owners into buying more, this timeshare is a total scam. Save your money and stay far away.

I wish I hadn’t signed up with Bluegreen. What is presented as a fantastic opportunity for your family actually turns into a NEVER ENDING financial drain. During the sales pitch, they paint a picture perfect image, but once you’re in, you realize the reality of the membership doesn't even come close to what was promised. And good luck if you reach out to end your membership. You only get scripted responses or no help at all from their reps. Save yourself the headache and AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

In October 2025, we bought points. Promise, in writing of Hilton Honors points. Still have not delivered. Refuse to honor contract. Every call, over a dozen, is misdirection and deception.

Let me start with the lies about the qualifications and what the trip actually included after paying for it to begin with. The customer service was absolutely awful and beyond disrespectful. The first representative literally hung up on my husband, then when we called back tried to claim the call was “disconnected.” If that were true, they should have called back.
They completely misrepresent what you’re getting and what the experience actually is. Between the misleading information and terrible customer service, I would absolutely not recommend doing this.

My family and I purchased a Bluegreen timeshare years ago. Unless you plan a full year in advance and prepay the following year's maintenance fees, you can rarely get the dates or locations you want. We eventually were forced to buy more points, which they told us would magically fix all of our problems. It turns out, there is no fixing the problems with this company. Even the resorts have serious issues. We’ve dealt with broken heating during a trip, leaking faucets keeping us up at night, running toilets, lack of luggage carts, and even a dryer clogged so badly with lint it was a fire hazard. Every time, we spent hours of our vacation just waiting around for maintenance to show up. The worst thing is how they make you go to these owner updates every time you travel. Every owner update is just a trap to aggressively sell you more points. They bring in managers and literally read from the exact same script of lies year after year, claiming you missed out on a special offer just to pressure you into signing.
