Don't bother trying to open up accounts…

Don't bother trying to open up accounts for your kids or a individual account.... what a joke, the hoops to jump through in getting this done. I'd say you have a better chance at winning the lotto than opening a account with BNZ.... it used to be simple

Inconvenience

I thought, I will ignore the angry comments and go with BNZ.
What a mistake. Very disappointed. Staff do not seem that they know what are they doing. I do not blame the staff, at this point, I think, it is the policies and their systems that are extremely tiring and unnecessary complicated. For any query, ANY, I needed to go to a physical branch. I can write a book of just dealing with them for 2 months.
Very inconvenient. Feels like they are still live in previous century.
And today I couldn't pay for the goods online ($68) because I do not have BNZ app for security confirmation. Are you joking?

absolute garbage

absolute garbage. there debit cards international payments hold the money for like 3 days in pending status until the transcation fails and then you have to wait 7 days for it to ping back even though it is still in bnz accounts. most of the time international payments to trusted vendors fail and you ring them to fix the problem and they just basically laugh in your face except your on the phone. i have been a customer for 15 years now and i asked today for a $20 overdraft on my account as i had run out of gas and they refused before i had even told them and then the phone hung up

I wish there was a zero stars option

I wish there was a zero stars option , if you want to know how bad BNZ are just call them and spend 45 minutes on hold, record profits by providing RUBBISH service. I got an email from a " manager " whose title included " operational excellence " WHAT A JOKE

Have been banking with them since I was…

Have been banking with them since I was a teen and it has been okay until now. Ordered a new card on the 13th of October. Was informed that the new card has been sent out on the 14th. Was told it could take 5 to 10 business days. It was meant to arrive on the 26th. It's the 28th now and I've sent messages and contacted them. There has been no reply. TERRIBLE SERVICE! How does it take 2 weeks for a letter from Auckland to arrive in the South Island

I opend for my 13 and 15 years olds saving accounts and wanted check accounts for every day use.
We went to the new lynn branch 3 times then they gave us a number to call and still waiting for them to do it.
I kept waiting half an hour for the phone to be answered.

Moved from ANZ and happy

Moved from ANZ to BNZ 2 years ago and haven't looked back. The app is great, the 0800 number is extremely fast and easy. I don't get why ANZ made life so difficult. Thank you for just making generic banking straight forward.

I have had the most HORRIFIC EXPERIENCE…

I have had the most HORRIFIC EXPERIENCE WITH A BANK I HAVE CALLED MINE FOR 59 YEARS. APPARENTLY I WAS EMAILED. SPAM?????????? I was emailed from the BNZ KGB branch to divulge private information (whuck the privacy act) to have had an account suspended because I have not answered some communist questions regarding my details. Comrade Jacinda has passed the rules to outlaw the innocent until proven guilty to be guilty until proven innocent. Seriously the BNZ sucks and we ALL HAVE TO STICK IT TO THE BNZ
The worst bank ever. Sucks

Precovid I had switched from Westpac to…

Precovid I had switched from Westpac to bnz for my personal everyday account which was easy. Simple everything was done in 1 day with Mandeep in manukau branch she even helped me with my debt to be cleared in 1 year! Thank you Mandeep. They have now moved into the mall. Because most staff are now working remotely Customer service is delayed majorly. Forms can take up to 10 working days. And a response from email is 2 days. Customer service over the phone can barely help you as their are different teams for different types of enquiries it isn't straight forward anymore. Bnz please sort it out or we may look at going with another bank for business and personal.

Worst bank

Worst bank, nor enough branches, the one in link drive is closed, in Albany closed. I tried to call all 0800 numbers couldn’t get through it kept cutting me off after couple of ring tones. Again due to congestion cannot proceed for 2 days now, unbelievable bad customer service. If you are thinking of joining a bank, certainly NOT BNZ!!!! Shame on you.

Just want to share an experience in BNZ…

Just want to share an experience in BNZ Personal Loan, I try to apply a personal loan since my father has been hospitalized back home so I decided to apply for a loan. I tried to apply in BNZ because I don’t want to transfer to another bank and sort things again specially paying bills, salary and etc. I got an email of conditionally approved from them last June 16 this year for the amount of ($4000) but asking some of my online purchases and I send the information that they asked from me and after that never heard from them again after yesterday that my application been declined. Very unprofessional, I’m not gonna recommend BNZ to other. 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻

This bank is not interested in any kind…

This bank is not interested in any kind of customer service. They won't take cash over the counter but instead you have to poke money into a machine in the wall. Limited to 50 notes at a time and coins more often than not reject. They even charge you if you want change. Where is the customer service in any of that? Time to change banks

Two months so far opening an account

It's taken two months so far to create an account. Pretty much all the local branches have been closed. Tried at one branch, where they were clearly going out of their way to be helpful, but essentially we had to phone the helpline. I tried the helpline a number of times. You get put in a queue with no indication of the wait time. I gave up a number of times after waiting around an hour. Twice someone said they would call me back "tomorrow". They called back once, about 3 days later. To chase up you can try calling again, or submitting an online request for a callback but that seems unpredictable in terms of who will call you and when.

From what I can see, most people there really want to be helpful, but the systems/processes in place are preventing them.
