I recently received extremely disappointing service. I had requested assistance to mount a large TV on a plastered wall, and I clearly communicated this detail during the initial phone call. However, two young men arrived with only a drill and no apparent understanding of the task at hand.
When I asked if they intended to locate wall studs for proper mounting, they admitted they didn’t even know what studs were. I further inquired whether they would check for electrical cables or water pipes before drilling, and they had no plan for that either - from then I knew this was a disaster! At that point, they decided not to proceed with the installation and simply left the TV on the floor.
To make matters worse, I received an inflated invoice the following day for their visit—despite no work being done and their lack of preparation. I find it unacceptable to be charged for a service that was not delivered, especially when the team arrived unprepared and uninformed.
How is it reasonable to charge for a job you were not equipped to perform?
