It's a little early to give a comprehensive review of this course, but I like the way it has started. I like the novel approach and, even though I've never met him, I like Lucas's personality, demeano... See more

BonjourTalk is an online French course built for busy people who want to actually speak the language, not just memorize textbook phrases. We teach French the way it's genuinely spoken in everyday life, so you can hold real conversations with confidence whether you're traveling to Paris, ordering at a café, or simply connecting with French speakers. Our approach is different from traditional language courses. Instead of drilling endless conjugation tables, we teach grammar in context and focus on the practical phrases and expressions French speakers use day to day. Every lesson features authentic native-speaker audio from France, Canada, and other French-speaking regions, helping you train your ear and master pronunciation, liaisons, and the natural rhythm of the language.

This is Day 2...so not much experience…
This is Day 2...so not much experience on the site so far. However, I can say this. I have tried and failed for years at French. I even like grammar, but after countless tutors, many online courses and 700 days on Duolingo, I can still hardly speak a phrase. Fear is a big part of this and the fact I don't immerse myself. So, here is the reason for 5* after two days, the teaching is different, it is positive, it is enjoyable and the phrases I learned yesterday are useful and in my brain. I even thought about them in my sleep. I will update when I have 2 months under my belt. But I feel optimistic. Hope that lasts
Practical Makes Perfect
I've spent many, many hours studying French but still lack confidence that I can navigate everyday interactions in French with native French speakers. I jumped down the rabbit hole chasing French grammar at the expense of chasing everyday French.
Bonjourtalk has set me on the path of practical French language learning. No offense to the subjunctive but I can envision using the Bonjourtalk approach to learning French to confidently buy shoes or navigate a farmers market or just make small talk. No stress, just doing it.
I am Speaking French!
I leaned Brazilian Portuguese for 14 years and can read and write it quite well but not speak the language. I've done three lessons on Bonjour Talk and started watching French language movies as suggested. Already, I'm catching the phrase chunks that I have learned and I'm chuffed and very encouraged. Thank you Lucas
Speaking French instead of learning French
I just finished the first video and reviewed the transcript and did the worksheet phrases. I'm actually pleasantly surprised. Mr Morceau has a very easy voice to listen to. His explanation of how different his method of learning French is from other more "traditional" ways of learning, i.e., rote, lists, repetition, etc., struck a chord with me. I've been studying French for a while now but I really don't speak it and frankly, I'm ready to stop French. But Bonjourtalk seems a perfect opportunity to give it one last try. I'm looking forward to completing the course.
I like the immediate phrases to use
I like the immediate phrazes to use. Including many printable exercises and study plans support a morecomplete learning experience.
A great way to learn conversational French.
I've just started using Bonjourtalk and I'm really enjoying it. It is easy to navigate; the lessons are short and fun, and they make sense. The supporting documents that come with each lesson help to make it interactive. The course structure makes it easy to follow; no getting lost, I know where I'm going. I highly recommend this course.
Wonderful! The best site for learning to speak!
I am finally gaining confidence to speak!I had joined another language learning site, working hard at it daily, and learning lots, but i am sure I wouldn't have been ready for my trip (in about a month.) I wish I had started this course earlier. I looked at others too. This one is the best!!!

Very helpful phrases to use in real life situations, encouraged me to persevere with the study course
So far, so good.
I haven't gotten too far, but so far I'm impressed with the very organized and guided step by step approach. I'm looking forward to getting deeper into it.
So glad I found Bonjour Talk
So glad I found Bonjour Talk. I’ll be going to Paris in three months and feel confident that I will be able to understand and read necessary information and be able to have simple conversations. In three days I have begun to learn more conversational French than I have with all the other language programs that I have tried.
So far so good
So far so good. I'm just getting started but I like the format. I also had some issues at first accessing my account but Lucas was very quick to respond. Looking forward to speaking better French when I get done with this course.
Just started but going great
Just started but enjoying and learning practical French. Looking forward
To improving every day.

I've tried a few options with my quest to learn French . Bonjourtalk has definitely been the most enjoyable and useful so far. Real world help with how things in the language work in France. Thankyou.
Best course so far
I have been learning French on and off for over 10 years but so far this has been the best course I have done. The videos are just the right length and engaging enough to keep me motivated to keep going. Looking forward to working my way the the course. Highly recommended.

It is the most liberating language course!
I have studied French for a number of years but have never lost my 'performance anxiety'. Within two lessons and sound advice this has nearly all dissipated.
Great overview on how to learn French…
Great overview on how to learn French like a native speaker. Excellent videos and support materieals
Trying again after a very long break.
Although I learnt French in high school (about sixty years ago!), the way it was taught was very rigid with the stress on grammar. I always found it frustrating and it didn't stick. When I found Bonjourtalk, I was immediately attracted to the philosophy of learning in chunks, predicting replies and relying on context. Better than the other (well known) online course. Enjoyable structure to the lessons. Early days, but I'm enjoying it.
This was not what I expected
This was not what I expected. The TIPS are great, but each "lesson" consists of only about 3 or 4 phrases. This is a good supplement to learning the language.
The pronunciation is a little hit or…
The pronunciation is a little hit or miss. In one video you might hear a word pronounced incorrectly one time and then the next time, it’s correcte.
Great value for the money.
Well thought-out approach to learning French. Recommended!
I found the BonjourTalk premise of learning focusing on entire practical phrases, or “chunks,” an interesting one and compelling based on my own experience with similar phenomena. While the course itself seemed at first to start a bit slowly with a preponderance of motivational notes, it quickly picked up and I was particularly impressed with the numerous (eight in total I believe) supplemental downloads immediately downloadable. As I have pursued the course, I have found it most rewarding indeed and looking forward to progressing with it.
