Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 54 reviews, reviewers overwhelmingly had a great experience with this company, finding the language course liberating and highly effective for learning French. Customers appreciate the unique teaching method, which focuses on phrases rather than traditional vocabulary and verb conjugations, making learning more enjoyable and practical. Many users highlight the ease of following lessons, the engaging video content, and the immediate applicability of the learned phrases in real-life situations. However, some customers also noted a desire for an easier way to access the program, such as a dedicated app, and mentioned the lack of audio for unfamiliar words. A few other people also felt that the pronunciation feature could be inconsistent and that the course might be too simplistic for those with existing French knowledge.

J’adore ce cours pour l’instant. J’aime beaucoup l’attitude de l’instructeur. Il me donne de l’espoir! I’m older with very rusty French and a tendency to freeze or mumble-stumble over my words. But... See more

BonjourTalk is an online French course built for busy people who want to actually speak the language, not just memorize textbook phrases. We teach French the way it's genuinely spoken in everyday life, so you can hold real conversations with confidence whether you're traveling to Paris, ordering at a café, or simply connecting with French speakers. Our approach is different from traditional language courses. Instead of drilling endless conjugation tables, we teach grammar in context and focus on the practical phrases and expressions French speakers use day to day. Every lesson features authentic native-speaker audio from France, Canada, and other French-speaking regions, helping you train your ear and master pronunciation, liaisons, and the natural rhythm of the language.

This French course is really going to work for me. If you practise so that the phrases roll off your tongue, it stops the ‘freeze’ and you don’t have to think about tenses and grammar.
It’s quick and achievable.

After years of learning textbook French…

After years of learning textbook French I felt totally defeated when speaking with friends in France. At the age of 88, I find rote memorization extremely difficult. I was terribly embarrassed when my friends insisted on speaking English in my presence. After several months experience with Bonjour talk I can easily fit into French conversations without the use of stilted memorized phrases. I do not consider myself fluent, but I fully expect to continue to improve with the help of Bonjourtalk.

Bonjour is a novel approach to learning a language. Not only do you get short phrases that are easy to learn, but the instructions give you a plan of how to think when you’re in a situation that requires responses.

I've just really started

I've just really started with the program, and not fully versed on all that is available.
So far, I'm not happy not having audio with the program, to hear how words that are unfamiliar to me should sound. I can probably pay extra to the program to enable this, but I'm not looking to spend more $
I would also like an easy means of accessing the program, like an app that would instantly open the program.
I'm sure there are ways of fixing these problems I have, but I have not stumbled on them yet.

It's a little early to give a comprehensive review of this course, but I like the way it has started. I like the novel approach and, even though I've never met him, I like Lucas's personality, demeanor and voice. This is not my first French course. I'm currently doing three other more traditional courses to get ready for a trip to France in October. Hopefully another few lessons will prove this method to be clearly superior. On we go.

This system works.

I actually studied French in college over 50 years ago and when you don't use it you lose it. I tried other methods to refresh my memory but hesitated to speak in French for fear of making grammatical mistakes or sounding foolish. This program helps eliminate that fear by giving you the phrases to use in certain situations with confidence.

Confident and Efficient Language Learning

I have only just started with this course but already I feel it is tailored more to getting my skills in tune with confident, relaxed conversation, rather than a concentration on correct grammar and rules based instruction. Setting up to get started with the course was also extremely easy. I can highly recommend what I have experienced so far and I have so much left to do. Can’t wait for the rest.
