Overhyped, Underdelivered, and Zero Accountability the Booster Theme…

If you're considering the Booster Theme for Shopify, think twice. My experience has been nothing short of a frustrating, time-wasting disaster.

The performance issues are glaring — the homepage banner flickers, Largest Contentful Paint is atrocious, and despite claims of optimization, the theme loads bloated scripts that cripple performance. Their much-touted speed optimization? It delayed my launch for weeks and created more problems than it solved. Lazy loading was wrongly applied to above-the-fold images, and I was told it couldn’t be disabled — turns out, I had to fix it myself.

Their initial quote promised delivery in two weeks. In reality? It took 4.5 months — with delay after delay, excuses, and zero proactive communication. That’s not just poor project management — it’s misleading and unprofessional.

Support? Disgraceful. Emails went unanswered, and when I finally received a reply, it was robotic and unhelpful. Instead of ownership, I got deflection: “No recent purchase in our system” — despite clear proof of transaction. Their 14-day refund policy might as well not exist.

What’s worse is the lack of transparency and poor documentation. If you’re not a developer, good luck navigating their theme’s convoluted logic or figuring out where core features live. Customization feels like a minefield.

Booster Theme presents itself as a premium solution for serious merchants. In reality, it’s a cobbled-together bundle of half-baked features with no concern for real-world performance or customer satisfaction.

Avoid it. There are better themes, better support teams, and better ways to spend your money.

Amazing product and amazing support!

We have been using Booster Theme for some time now and it has been an absolute pleasure. We have recently paid for the speed optimisation and can not believe the results. Absolutely amazing service. Any time we have had an issue or struggled with something on our store the team at Booster Theme have been on it straight away and could not be more helpful. Its so good to know they are there to help no matter how big or small the issue.
Amazing product and amazing support every step of the way.

Feels like a scam

I have purchased Booster theme over 2 years ago and to this date, I have not been able to update my theme once. I follow every single step of their installation guide of the new theme which is essentially just copying and pasting the code from the old theme to the new theme and my website homepage is just a bunch of code. It doesn't work, even after multiple attempts.

I tried to get in touch with customer service to inquire as to what am I doing wrong and initially I would get very vague and short answers, not related to the issue. After I challenged them and asked for a proper feedback, they advised me that my option is to pay to have them do the update for me. At this moment, I honestly believe they are making the updating process difficult on purpose so that customers pay for them to do it. This is unbelievable given the price of this app. Not a happy customer at all.

I've been using Booster Theme since the beginning with reloadpickleball(dot)com - it's fast and flexible - doesn't cost very much and is perfect for a store with a small number of products like ours.

Hard to cancel

I had a terrible experience with Boostertheme. I was charged without authorization, and when I tried to cancel my subscription, there was no option to do so. To make matters worse, their support is non-existent. I wouldn't recommend this service to anyone.

UPDATE: Refunded, but the account and refund/cancellation process should be made easier

Great customer service!

We have needed some help in transferring our theme to Booster and came across minor issues (mostly due to us not knowing the theme) and the team at Booster (particularly Raven) have been onto it immediately. They have been so helpful.

Got Scammed for 250$ by Booster and with no License

I subscribed to BoosterTheme a year ago, yet right after completing my subscripiton, I canceled it to avoid renewing the year after and removed the credit card used for payment as I also moved to a different theme due to problems with customer support. Now, today, a year later, I just got billed for another 250$ for 1 year license, the worst part is even though I was billed, I do not have any active license when I login to the portal, not that I need to use it but I wanted to prove to myself and to Booster team that I AM NOT SUBSCRIBED to your license, basically they just took out 250$ from my card. I have already filed a complaint to the bank, the bank is working on refunding, and I also filed a support ticket with Booster. Knowing that I can only be patient until September 4rth for personal reasons, I will follow that with legal action since it can heavily affect my own personal life negatively and with no consent... Word of advice, be very very careful with booster, they try hard to take your money even when you don't consent for it, yet simply be prepared with a good legal advisor and you'll be able to get your money back + with extra benefits maybe as collateral damage, trust me it's valid and you can make use of this situation in order to teach them a lesson while you go... Anyway I'll update this review if they refund my money, if I don't, then take this as a warning sign to avoid Booster by all means.

Update: Still have not received my refund yet. Following up, their support team is so far unhelpful and running away from answering why they billed me in the first place. I will never tolerate such actions. Will update once resolved.

Second Review for Booster…

This is my second review for Booster but it is well deserved. I am not the best with the technical side of things, so have needed quite a bit of advice and support from the Booster team who have been absolutely amazing. Nothing has been too much trouble. Any help I have needed they have been straight on it. Literally the best customer support I have ever come across. And my store looks so much more professional. This company is a scam

This company is a scam. We've been left with an e-commerce theme that doesn't work after a recent switch. Now I can't get a hold of anyone for an update and it's costing us over $5000 + per day. I explained that we needed the cart working (I mean we're an ecommerce company) and they've failed to fix it and stopped responding.
