We recently purchased the Bora X Pure and are very disappointed with its performance. The heat distribution is extremely uneven: food cooks very quickly on one side of the pan, while the side closer to the extractor barely cooks at all. This issue occurred with several different pans (Greenpan, Tefal and Le Creuset).
After reporting the problem with video evidence, we were told that the cooking zones are 23x23 cm and that larger pans would not heat properly at the edges. They also explained that when using the bridge function, the transition area between zones will never be as hot, resulting in the edges being warmer than the center. While this explanation may make sense in theory, the same problem still occurs even with a 23x23 cm pan.
What is most frustrating is that Bora Bora refuses to recommend any specific pan that would actually work properly. For an appliance in this price range, this is simply unacceptable.
In short: it may look stylish, but the performance and service are far below expectations. We would not buy the Bora Bora XL again and unfortunately cannot recommend this product.

I love the style simplicity and cookability of this hob, love the fact I don't need an ugly extractor fan in the kitchen, plus their customer service is second to none. Dankeshoen Bora
I have had my Bora classic for just about 6 years now. It’s been pretty good so far. Like another review, it doesn't completely get rid of cooking smells but have been generally happy with it up until 3 weeks ago. It suddenly stopped working completely with no lights at all. I tried to contact Bora by telephone with no luck and then my kitchen fitter who suggested the electrician who connected the electrics. All they could do was tell me that there was power to the system. I tried Bora helpline several times but could not get through at all . In the end i emailed them, i got a response and was given a service ticket. They only have limited contracts with approved repairers in the UK and as i discovered only 2 companies. The first company was charging a call out fee for 30 mins then by time for every additional 15 mins so the repair was bound to cost alot more than just a call out fee and parts. In the end i found another approved repairer on the internet, they didnt charge by time but call out and parts were more expensive. I gambled and ended up going with them and it was just as well as my parts alone cost just over £1000!! Yes, the cost of repair for a Bora is ridiculous once out of warranty ( 3 yrs), in total i paid £1500 ( about a quarter of what i paid for the system alone). The engineer was great and had all the parts needed but i really think Bora was not great, there was poor communication and no support from them whatsoever. On a high end product like this i would expect a greater period of warranty and better support and some goodwill. I am beginning to regret the choice as im dreading what the cost will be if it breaks down again, and you cant get insurance for them out of warranty. So disappointed and feel the cost is ridiculous!!

I purchased a BORA cooktop, expecting premium quality. Unfortunately, after less than four years of normal home use, the unit developed a defect.
In addition, the glass surface is extremely prone to scratches. According to BORA’s customer service, even spices could be a potential cause of such scratches, which I find an unreasonable expectation for a kitchen appliance.
Given the high purchase price and the brand’s premium positioning, I find it extremely disappointing that the product failed so early. The offered solution was a costly repair, in the price range slightly some competitor solutions.
I would not recommend BORA based on my experience – both for the product durability and for the bad reparability.

V poor product. Extraction only works at maximum power so very noisy. Cookware which work perfectly well on other induction hob will not work on Bora. Hob scratches easily. Customer Service appalling. Waste no time in telling you they will charge you€300 if they come to address your problems and (in their opinion) the complaint is not justified

STAY AWAY, I purchased a Bora X Pure from them and it scratched upon first normal use. I emailed them with photos of the issue and there was no resolution for their faulty product. I've had other induction hobs for 10 years and never had a scratch before. I wouldn't risk it with Bora as it seems they have a quality control issue

We were convinced by our kitchen provider to buy the more premium Bora X Pure as our new induction hub over another high end brand. What a disappointing experience it has been - and we have had many different induction hubs and this is by far the worst experience (and I love induction over gas)
The positives:
It looks great and the extractor fan works really well and is easy to clean in the dishwasher.
The negatives:
1) It quite quickly became obvious that there was an issue with one of the zones, as even on setting '9' or 'power' it couldn't consistently boil a pot of water. Constant cycles of pulsation.
Raised this to Bora and first they were dismissive and blamed the pots we used. We have used the same Le Creuset pots on all induction hubs (both cast iron and stainless steel ones) and have never had an issue. They tried to explain that because Bora X Pure was a premium powerful hub, some pots just wouldn't work.
After back and forth we did get an engineer out, who changed the motherboard after which the zone worked somewhat 'properly', which leads me to my next point.
2) The 1-9 power settings on the hub are useless. If we want to simmer/boil anything without lid, we can only use 7-9 (+ power setting). If we lower the setting to '6', it just start long cycles and pulsate, which can't be ideal when trying to consistently boil/simmer a dish.
If we boil pasta, '7' is almost too high and sometimes causes boiling over or at the very least almost, while '6' is too little and pasta isn't boiled consistently.
Therefore settings 1-6 are hardly ever used unless we simmer using lid, and even then it's hard to figure out the right setting for even cooking.
3) Have also tried on multiple occasions to dry roast some seeds in a small frying pan on '6' and sometimes it seems to overheat/power up too much, which causes white marks under the pan, which I haver only ever experienced when high power is used and it gets too hot. (for those with a Bora, the hub was not on quick heat up mode at this stage - and don't get me started on that setting)
4) The zones also don't seem to be as big as the markers indicate on the hub itself and the bridge function itself between two zones is also underwhelming from a supposedly premium brand.
5) Given the price point, I have been very careful when using the hub and cleaning it to avoid scratches. Had one scratch that was purely my own fault by not thinking, but I do think that it gets surface scratches are lot easier than others. Not the end of the world, as not easily noticeable from a distance, but still annoying, when you know they are there.
I really wanted to like this hub, but my experience +1 year is (x)PURE disappointment. I actually hate using it and I have always preferred and loved induction hubs, but just not what you expect, when you spent so much money on an appliance.
Back when we had the original issue, I asked Bora what pots they would recommend for their hubs since they blamed the ones we have, but couldn't get a straight answer, which seems convenient.
Unfortunately can't recommend Bora and their hubs to anyone.

The engineer David arrived on time and was very friendly and polite. He fixed the problem straightaway.
Would not hesitate to use this company again. Five star service received.
Absolutely excellent customer service. Clear communication and fast and efficient service. Will stick with Bora in the future and recommend them to friends and family.
Although the device itself is fantastic, charging EUR 99,- for a simple filter is criminal. Especially since it was leaked that you're producing them for only EUR 16,-
I recommend everyone to use google and purchase the replacement filters elsewhere

The back up and technical advice service at BORA is amazing. Quick and efficient, with friendly, professional, very competent advisors. The problem was solved within 24 hrs.
I am really unhappy about the customer service based on my experience. I have purchased Bora X Pure as I loved the design of it and was sold on flexibility with a size of cookware which can be used. It turned out that cooking experience is not that great as you get uneven heating if you are not placing your pan over the induction point which invisible. I have raised this to customers service, the service person came and basically said that my cookware is ok but I need to place it over the induction point more accurately, was charged 200 for this advice. I would go for Samsung or Bosh only if I could as the service is much better in my opinion.
Thank you for your reply. As mentioned, I understand that if a pot is not centred on the induction zone, heat distribution can be affected—this is precisely why I raised the issue with BORA. Because induction cooktops differ in design, I felt justified in suspecting a defect.
I’m disappointed that, although the technician agreed my cookware is high-quality, the official conclusion was that the uneven heating is due to the pots. It seems this assessment served mainly to justify billing me for the service call.

Bought two Pro induction modules and one teppanyaki. Was very satisfied until stains inside/under the glass on one of the induction modules started appearing. No stains or damages on the glass, we clean them every day, but inside the glass. Was in contact with Bora customer support who claim that the glass is not covered by the warranty and they will not honor my complaint…. Absolutely ridiculous. I chose Bora as i wanted top quality products and service, guess I was wrong.
Update 3/4-25, was contacted by Bora who offered to cover the cost of new glass but I would have to pay for the labour. Not perfect but acceptable. Let´s see how it goes.
The glass cracked in the corner within 6 months of normal use. I spoke to Bora, apparently that is not included in the 2 year warranty even though we didn’t put anything heavy on it, and I was quoted £370 for repair!!!

How did I ever live without a Bora? No more ugly, noisy cooker hood for my husband to bang his head on. Every home should have one of these sleek, effective and powerful hobs.
Terrible company with no support!
After less than 6 months ducting under Bora hob has melted which clearly is a manufacturing fault and needs urgent investigating, yet bora will not look into this fault or take responsibility.
Appalling company - I would steer clear

The Bora X-Pure is a great product overall with a few flaws that should be known.
Positives: easy to use, easy to clean, rapid heating and cooking, extraction works a treat on low sided pots and pans, extraction unit easy to clean in dishwasher.
Negatives: very easy to scratch working surface - have to be extra careful when seasoning food to wipe up rock salt and cracked pepper fragments before moving pans onto the surface, extraction not very effective for higher sided pots and pans, cooking steak usually results in smoking out the kitchen (even with cleaned extraction unit) - need to have windows opened in advance!
The Bora working very well, I like the smooth application and strong circulation and what I dislike are the scratches which shows on the glass-ceramic hob
The quality of the appliances, accessories and instructions are incredible. The new X-Pure keeps all the good qualities of the previous model but has little new functioning details that make it even easier to use. I'm an experieced user of both the X-Pure cooktop and the X-Bo oven, and just replaced my previous cooktop with the new model. I am very happy with the choice of BORA.
As an avid cook and mother of 4 i am always looking for ways to make my life easier.
I was skeptical at first- coming from a asian household where we cook very dense and heavy meals which involve alot of onions- i was unsure if the bora could handle the task.
However after thorough research i decided to take the plunge and splash out.
We have been using the Bora pure x for 3 months now and i could not be happier.
The extraction system when used on full power sucks in all the smells and the cooktop needs a simple wipe once done.
For larger pots it may struggle but for average day to day cooking this is a time saver!
