The extraction is the best part of this hob, the surface scratches very easily. Do not get any liquid on the control panel, which is impossible. It will simply display error and switch off mid cooking. It’s a nightmare. The central control has been replaced under warranty as the hob was switching itself on and off & beeping in the middle of the night. For a £5000 purchase we are really disappointed. #Notobora

Please stay away from a Bora extraction hob, our first one failed and would not switch on after installation, our kitchen supplier replaced it free of charge & the second one failed after a year, this was repaired and now 3 years on it has completely failed again, out of warranty it will cost £1500 to repair, not sure how long that will last, ABSOLUTELY SHOCKING !!!
NOT SURE HOW BORA CHECKED THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS OF MY HOB, NO ENGINEER HAS BEEN NEAR MY PROPERTY TO CARRY OUT ANY CHECKS OR TESTS, LIES !!!

We’ve had our Bora X hob for about 6 months now and wish we’d waited for a Siemens or Neff. It looks great and the downdraught fan is excellent (ducted to outside).
It really struggles to detect smaller pans and the controls are generally a pain to use. The biggest issue for me is that it isn’t powerful enough to properly sear meat which I struggle to believe since previous induction hobs we’ve had have been more than up to the job at fraction of the price. In a former career I have repaired commercial induction hobs for manufacturers so understand how they work. Perhaps the oversize zones on the X model dilute the amount of power available in one spot. Avoid.
Update
Following your response I feel I must reinstate that I appreciate how induction works and possess commercial induction pans and items of iron cookware. The pans are not the issue.

We have a Bora hob. I can’t tell you what model as there is no model number visible and the manual is the generic type.
My main complaint is the idiot who specified the control interface. It is a touch system, all well and good unless your hands are damp, am I the only person in the world to wash their hands when cooking?
If your digits are damp, it will not respond, if a pan has the temerity to boil over the hob controls won’t work so you can’t turn it down.
Never was there such a case of “prettiness before practicality”. Your designer should be made to cook with it with wet hands every day until he/she learns to test things in the real world.
Update:- I would like to thank Bora for taking the trouble to respond and the inferred admission that my moans are justified. Why else would they change the design? I would suggest that if you want to buy you ask for a "real world" test before committing so you can judge for yourself if you can live with the issues I have raised. The hob does work well but if you cannot easily control it.......

At first sight the Bora looks great, sober but fantastic design.
Easy to use (no need to read the manual). Next to that it Works perfect.
Only minor point is that it uses a lot of energy, like a Top sportscar does. We have solar panels and an house battery, so this issue is tackled.
Top product !
Issue occurred on Sunday afternoon, was fixed by Tuesday midday.
Great, capable and timely customer service.
However it would have been great to have diagnostics baked into the service experience as well so that we can understand if the issue will come back somehow after replacing “faulty” parts
Got a new pure induction in aug-2023. Trying to cook as much as possible to test things out to compare with my previous induction (ATAG). Im not happy with my purchase and sought support via Bora NL service support where they responded very slow. In the beginning, I had following issues.
1. When I start cooking, there is a continuous annoying zooming sound. Is this normal? The zooming also stays a while after you setoff the power.
2. I cannot get my mokka pot working (diameter 10cm Alessi). Got instruction from Bora but it doesn't work from step 2 by pushing the warmheath function twice. My mokka pot works fine on my cheaper segment of induction
We have recently had a wonderful Poggenpohl Kitchen fitted, with the focal point being a Bora Pure hob.
Having had problems with our previous German induction hob we were a little wary, but we have found this Bora Pure hob easy to use and the integrated flush fitting extractor fan is very efficient at extracting steam and removing all odours. Cleaning is as easy as taking filter apart and cleaning in the dishwasher.
The only small irritation we have found is that it needs to be completely cold before it can be cleaned.
Overall, we are extremely pleased with our Bora hob and would recommend it highly to anyone.
What an amazing piece of kit. A little put off by the cost initially however this is so worth it , kicking myself I hadn’t spent extra and gone with the xpure now.
The extraction is so quiet barley even noticeable, we have a recirculating model but the filters are so strong it clears all odours. It’s a dream to cook on. Whenever we have guests they’re all massively impressed marvelling at our hob centre piece like it’s a work of art. I would completely recommend this product. It’s the best thing in my new kitchen , we had this installed nearly a year without a single complaint to be had.
Top class after care service by Bora, quick to sort out a problem I had, went above and beyond to future proof another unit i had which i did not ask for. Very quick and efficient
After about a month of hard usage my new XBo oven was looking a bit the worse for wear and told me it needed a clean! I was absolutely amazed at the results with nothing but a wipe off from me afterwards. I can’t say enough about how much I love this oven …
I have a Pro 3 and it is incredibly unreliable and Bora's after market support can only be described as dismissive.
The unit shuts down or resets at random. The bridging option doesn’t work and trying to run the system at full go causes it to go haywire. One burner has an E that pops up and it’s corresponding controller doesn’t work
Bora sent me to a repair service who, for a unit under warranty, charges enough that getting a Miele cooktop would be cheaper - for example they want £25 to park on my driveway
Bora is claiming that it is an installation issue and that I need to sort it out with the installer
Installer says the unit was fine on installation and it’s a Bora issue now
This is in addition to a deep scratch on the hob despite the fact I’ve only used it a handful of times
No one wants to take responsibility for anything
Bora is over rated - avoid

I have the Bora Classic 2.0 with two burners and the side griddle. It has a number of fundamental problems that really make me question their product thinking. I find it hard to believe that these faults didn't come out in their testing.
* The touch panel, instead of being down at the bottom, goes up in between the devices. While cooking, it is extremely easy to get moisture on it and it will immediately error, start beeping at you and eventually shut off all of the burners. Even a drop or two of water will cause this to happen. Yes, you can put it into child proof mode to prevent this but one should not need to do this in order to cook.
* When first turned on, you have to wait a second or two while it shows you pretty colors on the panel. When it is finally ready, you then have to pick a fan speed first, then you can select your cooking options. It should come on immediately and should use the last fan speed. If I want to change it, I will. I'm here to cook, not for a light show.
* The griddle has 3-4 cm all the way around where almost no heat is applied. You learn quickly not to put anything in that area but I find it odd that they even expose the space for cooking.
* When you move a pot to a different burner, the setting doesn't move with it. This has been on other cooktops for years.
* The timer is hard to manipulate and it will only count down, not up. Setting a countdown time can be more trouble than it's worth and it only works in increments of 5 minutes. Takes too long to setup and it's super finicky when you try and adjust things. But worse, you can't count upwards. Sometimes you're cooking and you need to do this after 2 minutes and that after 5 minutes, etc. Can't do that here.
* Don't bother changing any settings if your hands are even a little wet. It won't happen.
* Sometimes, no matter how long you "push" one of the buttons, nothing happens. More than once, I've just shut off the whole thing and turned it back on because that's the only thing I could do.
I paid 6.800 euros for this and frankly, my old Siemens that I paid 1.000 was far better. As long as you stay within the invisible lines, the griddle is nice to have but overall, I just don't understand how these flaws aren't evident to them and why they don't fix them. At this price point, you want a strong user experience and you're not going to get it with this product.

Great priece of technology, heats fast, easy to control with the panel, looks neat and it's just an upscaling of our cooking experience.
I was so impressed by the Bora experience at the showroom in London that I specified the XPure hob (with the teppanyaki pan), the XBo oven and the larger size multi-drawer in my kitchen redesign. A couple of weeks ago all were installed and I am really, really happy with all of them. So far, I've used the XBo to cook the nicest oven chips (with -20% steam) and the nicest cheese pies (+80% steam) I have ever cooked. I've cooked lovely soups and stews in my multi-drawer ... better taste than in a slow cooker and easier to cook with than a simmering oven in an Aga. And the hob is simply the best hob and most effective extractor I have ever cooked with and great combined with the teppanyaki pan for burgers, bacon, etc. If I could have rated it all a 6/5 I would have done so.
Very happy with my new Bora. Easy to use and no large applicance above the gas stove. And - most importantly- no cooking odours.
Fantastic and easy to use! We are using it every day and it really makes everything easier. So really a huge benefit for in our new kitchen
Great cooktop ! The only thing I would like to be improved is the touchscreen. It is to sensitive and you must pay attention not to push the wrong button. I have to start again often.
