We went for lunch at the Bannisters…

We went for lunch at the Bannisters Restaurant x we were so excited for this menu and chose starter and main and a glass of wine . The starters came in 10 minutes and then after another 45 mins we asked had wr been forgotten on mains . Lady said no we were 3 rd in queue in kitchen and wouldnt be long . After another hour wr asked again to boy and said have we been forgotten for a salad and a cheese pie n chips he looked embarrassed and said yes sorry they are going to do it now . Another 7 minutes till we got our dinner ! Wine was finished and lady apologised and said it was because we ordered at 1 pm x the thing is the restaurant was no where near full when we arrived and was empty when we left . So we had been forgotten and at the till on paying £50 bill they were only sorry and basically told us we had not been forgotten just very busy . No free drink or discount for the wait and the pie was more pastry than cheese and ine small soda bread with salad . Very dissapointed with service . Could ve said they were busy and going to be a long wait . But no one else had a long wait they all ordered after and left before .

Fantastic customer service

My wife bought a Scarf and when we got home we found it still had the security tag attached. So we had to go back to get it removed. On entering the store I encountered the security guy who was really helpful and friendly he told me to mention it to the manager and they compensated me for our inconvenience. Absolutely fantastic customer service well done Newcastle Boundsry Mill.

So helpful!

Went looking for shoes - I’d been everywhere and failed to find any. I ended up buying 4! Sarah was so helpful- looked for a different colour in one of the styles and found the right size in one I’d seen in a different size. She even found me a handbag to match one of the pairs of shoes. It’s one of the few places left (now Friary shoes has closed in Lichfield) to offer a good selection .

Another successful visit.

I visited Pavers at the Walsall branch. I needed shoes for a wedding. I was assisted by Steph who couldn’t have been more helpful. I did buy some very nice shoes which I was happy with but they did run a little big and there were no half sizes. Again Steph was helping by getting an insole to try, etc. On returning home, I did order 2 more pairs of the same shoe, so I could chose the best fit out of the 3! I also was able to order a bag to match. The shoes I didn’t need, I easily returned back to the store for a full refund 2 weeks later. Luckily Steph was on duty that day too and was genuinely happy that I’d found what I needed. So yet again another positive experience at Pavers.

Very hot in store at the moment

Very hot in store at the moment , when there is air conditioning installed but not being used . Felt extremely sorry for the staff behind the tills where the heat was overwhelming. Uncomfortable to shop in let alone work in all day . Sort it out Walsall branch

Staff quality going down

Love it here. Been shopping here for decades but unfortunately... The changing room staff are rude. Treat you like criminals when trying on clothes. (Like a could steal a wedding guest in a hand bag!!!

Worst breakfast ever

Breakfast at Boundary Mills in Colne was definitely one of the worst I have ever had.

My wife and I stopped at Boundary Mills in Colne for breakfast this week and had one of the worst experiences we have had.

We ordered two English full cooked breakfasts which consisted of egg, bacon, sausage, mushrooms, grilled tomato, beans, toast and rosti potatoes. (we opted for no beans)

When the breakfasts arrived we were informed the rosti potatoes would arrive separately. We waited a short while but decided to start.

We found the vine tomatoes had been grilled to within an inch of their lives, the bacon was dry and tough, there was one very cold flat mushroom, the sausage was very strange being what seemed to be pureed sausage meat in a skin, the toast was a thick chunk of toasted sourdough, the fried egg was fine !

The rosti potatoes did finally arrive after we had both finished our breakfasts.

The final straw was that we had a long wait to pay because someone was being trained on the till.

In summary not an experience to be repeated

Comments on today's visit

Cafe service ok staff pleasant at Colne - good availability of gluten free food.
I agree with other comments about high prices - you'll get more for your money at Junction 32 outlet.
Too many staff being paid to stand around talking to each other - maybe they are needed on a weekend but certainly not on our visit.

Everything's massively overpriced

Everything's massively overpriced.
For example, a £60 amazon painting is being sold at boundry mill for £170.

The store is aimed at rich 50 - 60 year olds that don't know how to Internet search.

Over priced.
Small Laura Ashley type sections, and the rest is tacky, overpriced, primark looking cloths. Old people colours.

Disappointing for the young or middle aged. Not much to offer, and the few nice things are overpriced. It's robbery. Unlawful in my opinion to make such huge profits.

Very disappointed with food this time.

Very disappointed with food this time.
We ordered two jacket potatoes both with chilli. I understand not every one like very spicy chilli. But there should be some level of spice, not the bland sweet offering we had. There was absolutely no chilli pepper in it. Furthermore now a charge of £1.50 for a tiny bit of salad with consisted of limp lettuce and one slice of tomato. Avoid, the standard has deteriorated dramatically.

Poor Stock

Visited Walsall store today with my adult daughter, very disappointed with the stock, the mens was particularly bad with little choice unless you wanted a suite.
Wanted to try a pair of Meyers trousers on but the changing room had no inside handle so couldn't lock the door, the lady said I could use the main changing rooms at the end of the store but my daughter had joined me by now and she was just as disappointed so we both left the store, I know they were doing a lot of work in the store but perhaps better to shut it till this was done.

Big shout out to store colleague Julie

First time in years my wife and I visited Boundary Mills in Shiremoor. We both we surprised at how clean and modern feeling of the store. Very friendly staff. We viewed a new quilt cover, a staff member named Julie asked if she could assist us, we couldn’t find a superking size and Julie explained stock had recently arrived and they hadn’t sent superking. We carried on with our shopping and approx 20 minutes later Julie came to find us, she had found the superking size in the warehouse.
We were overjoyed, thank you Julie, you are a credit to the store.

Need to understand their older customers better

I'm a man in my seventies and a regular visitor to the Shiremoor store outside Newcastle. It's a terrific store from which we always return with well-priced goodies and I'd like to be able to say we enjoy the experience, but we don't. We often leave before we want to. On weekdays the customers are overwhelmingly elderly and the cafe looks like an old people's home, so one would imagine the management would provide an environment suitable for that demographic. They do not. The shop is very big but older people find it tiring to stand or walk for hours without a rest, yet no seats are provided. Even the seats in the changing room area have recently disappeared. The response is to go for a coffee and a sit down, but that often entails a wait of 15-30 minutes standing in a queue. The whole tiring experience is made worse by the incessant music that most older people don't like and don't want. Theirs is not the generation that demands endless music; when your brain is old it just makes concentration more difficult and causes fatigue. Eventually you think, 'I've had enough of this, I'm leaving'. The shop itself is excellent and the prices are very good but management really must understand their customers better. Although marketing people think keeping customers moving and playing beaty music will make them spend more, this policy does not work with oldies. It simply drives them out of the shop.

Awful Customer Service

I went to the store to return a couple of items that did not fit, it was 2 days after the receipt expiry date, they refused to take them back, I explained that I was unwell and could not visit the store sooner.

The response from the staff was rude and arrogant, especially from James.

I spend hundreds of pounds in the store, but will not be giving them a penny again.

Took my dad to the Walsall store to get…

Took my dad to the Walsall store to get some shoes. Due to his Parkinson’s disease it takes a long time to try on and find shoes that actually fit as he feet can swell. We were helped by a lovely assistant called Sarah. She took the time to speak to my dad about his Parkinson’s asking can he manage laces or does he prefer Velcro. Speaking to him rather than us which very rarely happens as people tend to ignore him and speak to us. We ended up getting 3 pairs rather than 1 as she gave him so much choice he couldn’t decide.

Visited sheffield store on 11.01.25

Visited sheffield store on 11.01.25 . I bought a thermos travel tumbler for £22. The tag stayed original price £42.99 reduced to £29.99 then to £21.99. Following an online search the tumbler has never been priced at £42.99 or even £29.99. The genuine thermos site has the same tumbler for £21.99 reduced from £24.99. What a con. Falsely pricing item to belive we are getting a bargain is unlawful. Boundry Mills you should be ashamed.
