I have been a Breck’s customer for years. Wonderful assortment of bulbs, flowers and gardening items. In the past I was satisfied with orders and shipments.
Years have changed. It is 2024. Products not arriving, orders lost, empty shipping containers, late shipments. Sad to experience their decline .
Another good customer lost.

I ordered daffodil, tulip and crocus bulbs as well as two peony tubers last autumn (2023) for bloom in spring 2024. My folks have ordered from them for years and had a good experience overall, but last year was my first time ordering. They did not disappoint. They arrived just before the first frost and everything grew in the spring. The flowers were healthy and strong and blooms were full, vibrant, and were resilient to late frost due to the weird weather we had this year. The blooms were also long-lasting and made for great cut flowers and arrangements for the house, and bouquets that we gifted to friends and family. We had an issue with one of our peonies, before the plant matured, it was waterlogged after a heavy rainstorm and the plant wilted, we just accepted the loss and decided to try again with the peonies for the following autumn. Two months later, we noticed something growing where the peony was planted and we decided not to disturb it, after three weeks the leaves were more mature and distinguishable so we knew the peony survived and started to grow back. All though that peony didn't get to bloom, it is now September and the stems are still alive and growing new leaves. The other peony plant survived all throughout the growing season and gave us two beautiful blooms. We are so excited to order more fall bulbs for our spring garden :)
Don't order anything from these guys! I've placed multiple orders from them and since they did some sort of system update, they can't locate anything and have stopped servicing me completely. I have several plants from last season that I thought I was going to be able to get replaced and they simply won't help because their system cant find my orders now. Feels like a big waste of time and money.
I ordered a variety of dahlia tubers specific colors I was after. Every one of them is purple and white !! Disappointed
sept of 23 I planted 8 bulbs it is now end of July 24 and I have a lot of leaves and not 1 single bloom.. I spent over $100.00 for nothing.
Bought hostas that were infected with HXV. They offered a credit but don’t want to buy from them again.
I spent over $200 in the last three years at Brecks and nothing grew I was hopeful with the tulips that started to grow in pots, when placed in the ground it involuted and died. I bought a variety of bulbs and nothing fully bloomed. I’m so disappointed
Order a plant and received a dried up root. I called to tell them and they said they would give me a credit for $13.77 to be used on anything at that price or below that price. There is nothing on their website for $13.77. (That same plant is now over $27)
I called and was told that I would have to wait for 6 to 8 weeks because the root can take that long to grow.
It's dead! I have been gardening for over 30 years, I know when something is dead,
No refund, no replacement just their scam.
Don't make the same mistake I made and others.
This is the worst mail order company.
And if you try to put a comment on their website it tells you their was an error because you have a ad blocker. I do not have a ad blocker. I Should have looked up customer reviews before ordering.
Ordered May 15.. a special surprise gift. Heard nothing! May 23 I received a note saying FedEx will deliver on May 25. No package has arrived. Still in the original FedEx office!! No notices!! And, I actually paid a mailing fee to this company!!
Don’t be lured in by their supposed plant offerings! Not worth the hassle.

I purchased a few hundred dollars worth of bulbs and they shipped them out so late that it had already been -14 Celsius for a week. I live in zone 3 and it is absolutely unacceptable to ship bulbs out this late for fall planting. Complete waste of money as I can’t plant these into fully frozen soil.
I ordered fall bulbs two months ago and they have not even shipped yet, but I was charged money already and cannot cancel the order. The soil is freezing soon and if they ever arrive they won't be usable anymore this fall. Customer service via does not respond at all, live-chat left me waiting for over three hours with the message "an agent will be with you soon", via phone I am left hanging as well. Also, I am getting slammed daily with at least one advertisement email... as if I was ordering bulbs daily ...?! I truly believe that this company is a scam and I will never see the bulbs or my money back. Any advice would be welcome!
Don't buy anything from this company. I placed an order in June and they cancelled it without notifying me because they oversold all of my items that were to ship this month. Customer service is awful!!! Stay away from this company!!!!!
the plants were either dead or almost dead, tiny with puny roots, if any. They would not refund - only replace or credit

I ordered a bunch of dahlias and lilies from this company to be delivered in the spring. While some of the dahlias came in different sizes, they all did grow. The lilies were rotted and unusable. When they say they guaranty a product, I assumed it meant they would refund me the cost of the bad lilies. But all they do is give you a store credit. So, I ordered some iris which were supposed to be delivery this week. No notice, but apparently they are now back ordered and won't arrive until the end of september, which is cutting is too close to get them planted and established before frost. Will never order from them again.
I ordered 8 different plants/bulbs from Breck's. I planted them all as directed and not a single item grew. I did receive a credit for one of the items. When I tried to use my credit, every item I tried to purchase came up totaling more than my credit with all the fees and shipping they add to their costs. Brecks' is a crap company and I will never do business with them again, nor would I recommend them to anyone. Their plants do not grow.....
Only about 30% of what I purchased grew. I’m a seasoned gardener and haven’t had issues with any plants I’ve purchased from big box stores. However thought I would try Brecks as they had a wider array of options. What a mistake. Not only are they grossly over priced. The items ordered didn’t grow. The bulbs were in tact and I followed the instructions provided. Would never deal with them again. Save your money and select what you can see as what is delivered isn’t as described and doesn’t grow.
This company is continuously harassing me and refusing to discontinue mailings to my house even after THREE complaints to the BBB about them. I have never been a customer, but still contacted them directly to request they stop sending mailings to my house, and they outright refused, leading to my first complaint with the BBB. They then continued to send me solicitations after agreeing to the BBB telling them to stop, resulting in my second complaint and a formal apology. Then, a week later, I get MORE mailings from them. These people are disrespectful and can't be trusted. Stay away from them as far as possible.
I have ordered from them before and had no problems, so I decided to use them for my mom for mothers day. I know how busy flower places are on Mothers Day. I placed my order on April 29th and received my email confirmation. I asked that the order be delivered on mothers day or a few days before, but not immediately, because it was April. It is now 3 days after mothers day and my mom did not receive them and still has not received them. My Amex was billed $73.97. I called Brecks and was told it was a 3rd party and would take 7-10 business days to be delivered. If you use a 3rd party, your name is still on it. Not reputable at all. I disputed the payment with Amex and I will NEVER order flowers from you again. Thanks for ruining my moms mothers day.
