This company sells you promises a date range in your invoice and then never delivers . After two weeks of calling and emailing I finally asked for a refund.
I ordered a Sunday lilac and it came well packaged and producing multiple healthy green buds. Also ordered Dahlia bulbs that arrived healthy as well. Will definitely order more and will definitely tell anyone to purchase from Brecks.
Honestly I haven't used them but I've been searching for different varieties of things like daffodils and can't help but notice that brecks uses enhanced colored photos for their products. This comes off as dishonest right off the bat. Search a few daffodil varieties on google images to get an idea. This may seem trivial but what you see on their website isn't what you'll end up growing. It's not even what *they're growing.
On a whim, I ordered a mystery box of spring flowering bulbs and was happily surprised by the quality of the bulbs! I've heard of Breck's for years, but never ordered from them, and thought what the heck, may as well try them out. I thought the mystery box would be a good random sample to see what they could offer - because some companies may use that as an excuse to get rid of surplus or un-sellable items that may not be in good shape.
The mystery box contained 5 tree lilies, 3 oriental lilies, several types of grape hyacinths, and some standard hyacinths. The bulbs were all in good condition and good sized. None were sprouting, rotten, or otherwise in bad condition. The tree lilies were huge bulbs I was actually kind of shocked haha. The shipping was quick, only a week or so from order to receipt.
This was just one order and kind of just random items, but I would probably order from them again. I'd be curious to order some perennials and summer bulbs from them to see what the quality is like.
I made an $80 order on 5/21/21 everything came dead and I could do nothing to revive them . Very long wait on getting the order . Brecks issued a gift certificate for the full amount which I used on 2/8/22 for items which were “in stock”, I received this order on 5/6/22 one bag of a bare root coneflower only contained soil and the othe three were struggling to say the least . They resent a marmalade coneflower to replace the bag of dirt and I finally received it today and unfortunately it was too another bag of only dirt. The other three coneflowers have since perished and I got the old whammy for $8.68 more for the order was that much more than the certificate. Needless to say I am not happy at all .
When they get around to shipping your order, hopefully it's still planting season. Not to mention if you get what you even ordered after their 'substitutions of an equal or greater value'.
Ordered a bulb for a cancer patient in January. Received an email on April 21 that the bulb had arrived in the US. It's mid-May and it still hasn't been delivered. What the heck kind of shape will it be in when and if it ever gets to this woman? It was meant to be a surprise to cheer her up. Horrible experience and I dread asking her the condition if it ever gets to her.
Normally I do not post a review unless the service is exceptionally good or BAD! Do not waste your time and money! Terrible service! I wish I could give them ZERO Star, they don't even deserve 1!! They DO NOT honour their promises and deliveries. They even don't let you know if item is backorder and keep your money and constantly change the delivery date for months/weeks without admitting that item is not available. They did that to my order for almost 2 months which caused me to miss the season to plant bulbs!! Do yourself a favour and avoid doing business with Breck's!!!
Breck's will take forever to ship, and in the year 2022 are unable to send a bill through email. Placed an order for hellebores based through a paper order form sent to me in a Breck's catalog. The order was received by Breck's on 1/14/21 with estimated ship date of 5/14/21. Received email on 5/20/21 informing me that shipping date was delayed until 10/21/21. Order finally shipped on 9/22/21. Received email correspondence regarding order status but it never indicated any outstanding balance on the account. Breck's claims they sent bill through mail, which I never received as I'd moved away from the address in question by the time they sent it, and they never many any attempt to send any statement electronically. Instead of ever trying to call or email, they passed the account balance on to a debt collector. Will not be spending another cent with Breck's. They're at best misleading - and at worst it's a total scam that will show up long after promised, with all sorts of nasty surprised attached.
I ordered quite a few German bearded irises. Upon arrival, I contacted the company because most were dead, not dormant. Several had clear signs or borer infestation. I haven't heard a peep despite several different routes of trying to contact them. Horrible product, horrible customer service

I placed an order in July/early August for fall delivery. On 9/11 I received a refund for half of my order with no explanation. Canceled the rest of my order as i no longer trust this company and would rather give my money to a company that will send what I buy.
I've always had good luck with Breck's products. Their bulbs always perform. I do think they are a bit slow with shipping but I'm usually satisfied.
Ordered "Spring" flowers a month ago. Its going to take another month to ship. Over 2 months to get flowers? I'm just going to go to my local nursery and get them. The "rush shipped" them and it moved the date back a day. Thanks for nothing
I ordered a bundle of 5 Hostas on special and a bundle of Daylilies - total order with free shipping. The Daylilies arrived a month late, and the hostas were never delivered. I called and they apologized and offered to give me a credit of the sale price of $16 for the Hostas. When I asked them to just ship them to me, they said the price was now $30 and I'd have to pay shipping-AND they couldn't ship until Fall 2021. They should obviously ship them to me for the price I paid and not require me to pay shipping. I want my original product at the price I paid. So, I'll wait for another free shipping promo and then spend the $15. Afterward I'll never shop at Brecks.com again, and warn others not to.
